Abstract:
Abstract The paper aims to identify possible methods for balancing the allocation of transport flow on modal subsystems in order to efficiently use the infrastructures and reduce the negative effects of today’s unbalance. The aspects of intermodal competition are reviewed, considering the economic concepts regarding the substitutability of transportation services, conformation degree to the perfect competition model and the nature of cross elasticity demand. A top-down analysis over the whole infrastructure assembly is performed. The results, under the presumption of valid work hypothesis, indicated that for further analysis the set of networks transferring material flows can be assumed as disconnected from the other networks sets transferring energy, informational and values flows. The second part of the paper develops, for that disconnected networks, a generalized cost optimization model for multimodal transportation, where the comfort and safety are accounted. Thus, the performance of the existing algorithms based only on trip length, trip duration and energy consumption can be significantly improved. Additionally, the author proposes three new independent types of modal analysis that allow end-users and companies involved in transport organization to optimize their modal choice and the whole transport process organization.

Abstract:
1. The binaural response properties of neurons in the auditory cortex of the albino rat were examined using microelectrode mapping techniques. Characteristic frequencies, binaural response classes, and interaural intensity differences for binaural interaction were determined for multiple electrode penetrations across the cortical surface. The location of electrode penetrations was determined by reference to the cortical vascular pattern in individual animals. 2. When examined over a wide range of interaural intensities binaural responses could be classified as one of the following types: summation, i.e., excited by stimulation of either ear alone and facilitated by stimulation of both ears together (35.3%); suppression, i.e., excited by contralateral stimulation, unaffected by ipsilateral stimulation alone, but inhibited under binaural stimulus conditions (42.2%); mixed, i.e., facilitated by binaural stimulation at near threshold levels, but strongly inhibited by increased sound pressure levels in the ipsilateral ear (18.5%); or other, i.e., responses that could not be classified as any other type (4%). 3. Neurons of the summation and suppression class often exhibited binaural interaction when the intensities at both ears were approximately equal. The modal interaural intensity difference for both response types was between 0 and +5 dB. Neurons of the mixed interaction class were facilitate at near equal dichotic intensity but suppressed when the intensity in the ipsilateral ear was increased. The modal value was between 0 and +5 dB for summation and +20 dB for suppression. 4. Summation, suppression, and mixed binaural response types were found over a wide range of sound frequencies from 1 to 40 kHz. There was some tendency for summation responses to prevail at lower frequencies and suppression responses to prevail at higher frequencies but the differences were not large. Generally, responses from each of the three binaural classes were well represented over the rat's hearing range. 5. Cells of the same binaural response type were grouped together to form aggregates of summation, suppression, or mixed interaction patterns. Cortical areas with similar binaural response properties appeared in some cases to extend across isofrequency contours.

Abstract:
Within a semiotic and psychodynamic frame, we present and discuss the psychological construct of modal articulation. By modality, we mean the way a subject organizes the meaning of his/her own experience according to categories of necessity, possibility, opportunity, will, knowledge, permission, and duty. Modality is a relevant topic in some branches of philosophy, logics, linguistics, and semiotics, but there is no systematic discourse about it in psychology. The proposal of this work is to deal with some interesting and promising features of modal categories in the sensemaking process of subjective experience. Modalization is presented as a relevant semiotic organization in each contextual and dynamic sensemaking process in order to perform three functions: (a) connection between affective matrix and subjective experience, (b) mediation between subjective positioning in intersubjective context, and (c) vectorialization of action, namely orienting subjective agency in becoming temporal. Theoretical, methodological, and clinical implications are discussed.

ABSTRACTThis article focuses on the development of the skipper who led the deep-sea vessel. Changes occurred to the deep-sea skipper, in which some of them possess entrepreneurial characteristics and act as an entrepreneur. Some of them turn out to be fishery entrepreneurs. The study was conducted in the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) which involved four states in Malaysia, namely, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, and East Johor. A total of 17 informants were interviewed, five in Kelantan, three in Terengganu, six in Pahang and three in Endau-Mersing, in which, they were selected through purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The interviews were transcribed into verbatim and analyzed using thematic approach. The findings confirm that the deep-sea skippers are no longer a skipper but they have transformed to become a fishery entrepreneur. Their transformation from deep-sea skipper to entrepreneurs or known as skipper-entrepreneur is a significant development in the fishery industry. They possess entrepreneurial characteristics of human capital, social capital and economic capital, in which, all of these capitals are important for an entrepreneur in managing and organizing fishery organizations. It involves seizing opportunities, risks-taking, high production processes, high capital and social networking. The evolution form solely a skipper to take part in organization and market makes them a multi-function entrepreneur. The development of the skipper-entrepreneur can further increase the national fish production, thus contribute to ensuring national food security. Abstract:
The use of social media runs through our lives, and users' emotions are also affected by it. Previous studies have reported social organizations and psychologists using social media to find depressed patients. However, due to the variety of content published by users, it isn't effortless for the system to consider the text, image, and even the hidden information behind the image. To address this problem, we proposed a new system for social media screening of depressed patients named BlueMemo. We collected real-time posts from Twitter. Based on the posts, learned text features, image features, and visual attributes were extracted as three modalities and were fed into a multi-modal fusion and classification model to implement our system. The proposed BlueMemo has the power to help physicians and clinicians quickly and accurately identify users at potential risk for depression.
