The perspective-three-point problem (P3P) is a classical problem in computer vision. The existing direct solutions of P3P have at least three limitations: (1) the numerical instability when using different vertex permutations, (2) the degeneration in the geometric singularity case, and (3) the dependence on particular equation solvers. A new direct solution of P3P is presented to deal with these limitations. The main idea is to reduce the number of unknown parameters by using a geometric constraint we called "perspective similar triangle" (PST). The PST method achieves high stability in the pe

Abstract:
New geometric analyses are presented of three impressive examples of the effects of location of the vantage point on virtual 3-D spaces conveyed by linear-perspective images. In the ‘egocentric-road’ effect, the perceived direction of the depicted road is always pointed towards the observer, for any position of the vantage point. It is shown that perspective images of real-observer-aimed roads are characterised by a specific, simple pattern of projected side lines. Given that pattern, the position of the observer, and certain assumptions and perspective arguments, the perceived direction of th

Morley’s theorem is well-known: if we trisect the interior angles of any triangle A0A1A2, then the common point of each pair of trisectors adjacent to a side is a vertex of the Morley triangle, M0M1M2, which is always equilateral (Figure 1). Less well-known is that the two triangles are in perspective, that is, the three lines AiMi, concur at a point M.The pairs of trisectors further from the sides meet at W0, W1 and W2, the vertices of the anti-Morley (or perhaps the Worley) triangle. It, too, is in perspective with A0A1A2, the centre of perspective being W. Also, the Morley and anti-Morley t

The Look East Policy (LEP) initiated in 1991 was a real turning point in India’s economic policy. Initiated along with the New Economic Policy (NEP) of 1991, the LEP emerged as an important strategy for India to make foray in Southeast and East Asian countries. The attempt of India to enter into closer economic relationships can be viewed from three different lens – regional and sub-regional integration, proliferation of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and re-orientation of domestic economic policy which altogether are pursued after the launching of the policy. Abstract:
Considerable evidence suggests that in complex diseases the deteriorations are often abrupt, and can be viewed as a bifurcation or a critical transition from one asymptotically stable equilibrium to another one at a tipping point. Here, we propose some new ideas to detect early-warning signals of such critical transitions from the perspective of qualitative theory of ordinary differential equations. Specifically, we theoretically derive three indicators that serve as a general early-warning signal indicating an imminent bifurcation or sudden deterioration before the critical transition occurs.

Abstract:
In recent years several projects have emerged that address Catalan culture from a spatial point of view. This article aims to review the theoretical framework of what is known as the spatial turn in order to evaluate its main contributions, and some potential future orientations, in Catalan cultural studies. The paper is divided into three parts. The first part provides an overview of the main approaches inside spatial studies. In the second part, a selection of studies on Catalan culture and literature is reviewed from the perspective of their connections with spatial studies. Finally, the th

This study examines a sakinah family empowerment by optimizing the role of Badan Penasihat Pembinaan dan Pelestarian Perkawinan (Body for Marital Advisory Guidance and Maintenance (BMAGM)) and parents from a mental revolution perspective. There are three research questions: What is the so-called BMAGM? What and how is the correlation between the national revolution movement and sakinah family empowerment in Indonesia? What strategies are carried out in doing mental revolution in a family in order to have a sakinah family? This qualitative research collected both primary and secondary data. Thr
