Background: The general counter-roller flow-forming (CRFF) process rarely considers the roller’s offset position for the symmetric rollers. However, the rollers’ offset position can regulate the tube shape, force, and other features. Studying the novel asymmetric CRFF process, which is the CRFF process with the rollers’ offset position, is essential. Methods: The influence of the rollers’ offset position, the tube blank thickness, thickness reduction on the material deformation, flow-forming force, final tube middle radius, and thickness in the CRFF process are studied using AA5052 aluminum tu

The results were compared with measurements obtained at +20°C and with results from one base oil at +20°C. A model for the roller motion was also built and simulations of the roller motion were compared with the measurements. Independent of temperature and lubricant the rollers rolled in the loaded zone and slipped, more or le

Throughout the huller shelling process, the rubber rollers progressively deteriorate. The velocity of the rubber rollers decreases as the distance between the rollers rises. These modifications significantly influence the rate at which rice hulling occurs. Hence, the implementation of real-time online detection is crucial for maintaining the operational efficiency of the huller. Currently, the prevailing inspection methods include manual inspection, 2D vision inspection, deep learning methods, and machine vision methods. In China, potatoes are predominantly cultivated using the tuber piece planting method. During the cutting process, it is essential to divide seed potatoes into tuber pieces based on the distribution of their bud eyes, ensuring that each tuber piece contains one to two bud eyes. These tuber pieces are subsequently sown into the soil. Currently, the preparation of potato tuber pieces relies heavily on manual labor, which presents challenges such as inefficiency and high operational costs. To address these issues, a seed potato cutting machine capable of posture adjustment, cutting, and spraying

A calculation method of static load capacity for three-row roller slewing bearing considering clearances was proposed. The statics models of the slewing bearing in the radial direction and the axial direction were established respectively. By solving the equilibrium equations of the models, the rolling element loads were calculated. Based on the load distribution of the rollers, the static load capacity of the bearing was calculated and the influences of the clearances on it were researched. Results show that slight negative axial clearance is favorable for the static load capacity of the bear

The superposition method is introduced to obtain the roller stiffness. Three-dimensional finite element analyses were used to validate the accuracy of the stiffness equation, in which rollers with circular, quadratic, cubic, fourth-order power and exponential profiles were analysed. Detailed three-dimensional measurements of the first vortex pairing of a large plane mixing layer reveal excitation of several three-dimensional instability modes. Time evolution in three-dimensional space (x, y, z, t) shows how the two-dimensional rollers become three-dimensional as they approach each other and that the linear growth of at least two instability waves leads to a spanwise periodic pairing. The results are based on phase-locked measurements made in three-dimensional spatial grids, with a mesh spacing of 8.5% of the fundamental instability wavelength. Spanwise-uniform, periodic a

For this purpose, a three-dimension thermo-mechanical coupling model has been built with the finite element analytical package ABAQUS to simulate the hot rolling process of H-beams. In particular, the simulation is conducted under the assumption that the rollers are elastic and rolling torque imposed unilaterally, which agrees with the practical rolling conditions.
