Abstract:

Nectar robbers are thought rarely to pollinate flowers, especially those with sexual organs hidden within corollas. In this study, we examined whether robbers pollinate flowers of distylous Primula secundiflora . Distylous plants have two floral morphs. Pin flowers have long styles and short stamens, and thrum flowers have short styles and long stamens. Flowers of P. secundiflora were commonly robbed by bumble-bees, and robbing holes were always situated between high and low sexual organs for both floral morphs. We observed that pollen grains of pin flowers were removed while thrum flowers received fresh pollen grains immediately after flowers were robbed. We manipulated flowers so that only nectar robbers could visit them. This resulted in 98 per cent of thrum flowers and 6 per cent of pin flowers setting fruit, and seed number per thrum fruit was also significantly higher than per pin fruit. Our findings suggest that nectar robbers transfer pollen from pin flowers to thrum flowers effectively, and consequently increase male fitness of the pin morph and female fitness of the thrum morph. Such asymmetrical pollen flow caused by nectar robbers may act as an important selective agent in floral fitness and evolution of distyly.

Abstract:

This study traces the development of the adversative and neutral passives in Thai to draw inferences about their establishment and change. It shows how the word/thùuk/, which used to occur with only a verb with unfavorable meaning to form an adversative passive, is now used with virtually all transitive verbs in Thai. This suggests that the neutral passive has been established in Thai syntax. However, /thùuk/ is ambivalent because it marks both adversative and neutral passives . This means that the adversative passive still persists in Thai, but it is now likely to be marked by /doon/, which has a clear adversative meaning. This passive marker seems to have developed in the track of /thùuk/ and is replacing the equivocal /thùuk/ marker.

Pada saat ini belum banyak perusahaan makanan menggunakan proses pemesanan melalui sistem drive thru. Dengan menggunakan sistem drive thru ini maka suatu restoran dapat meningkatkan hasil penjualannya karena lebih memudahkan konsumen dalam memesan makanan. Tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk membuat dan menguji sistem pemesanan drive thru di restoran menggunakan LCD touchscreen berbasis mikrokontroler. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan cara merancang, membuat, dan melakukan pengujian hardware dan software untuk bisa diterapkan dalam sistem pemesanan drive thru. Sistem pemesanan drive thru ini menggunakan LCD touchscreen sebagai alat memesan menu pada pemesanan dan juga sebagai tampilan menu yang telah dipesan pada layar koki. Bluetooth HC-05 sebagai penghubung antara pemesanan dengan koki. Untuk pusat kontrol dari sistem pemesanan menggunakan mikrokontroler arduino mega 2560. Hasil dari sistem pemesanan drive thru ini adalah dapat memesan makanan menggunakan LCD touchscreen pada pemesanan dan juga dapat menampilkan pesanan di LCD koki.

Metode analisis menggunakan metode Diskriptif Kuantitatif dan di analisis menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Abstract:

Micromorphological characterisation and the comparative statistical analysis of the size of Primula veris L. pollen grains collected in three natural and three cultivated populations were done. Observations were carried out with SEM. The obtained measurements were analysed with the use of one-way ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis Test and the Student-t Test. Pollen grains from long-styled ('pin') flower-morphs were mainly 6 colpate and from shortstyled ('thrum') flower-morphs 8 colpate. Colpi of some grains from 'thrum' flowers were 'sinuous' and 'circular', and they incised into the apocolpium zone. Ornamentation of 'pin' pollen grains was microreticulate, with lumina up to 0.8 μm wide, and for pollen grains from 'thrum' flowers was reticulate and eureticulate with lumina 1.1-1.7 μm wide. In lumina of mesocolpium area some free columellae were observed. Pollen grains from 'thrum' flower-morphs were more variable in size, both in natural and in cultivated populations, than grains from 'pin' flower-morphs. The differences in mean length (P) and breadth (E) of pollen grains from 'thrum' flowers collected in cultivated populations were statistically important (FP = 3.154 for the critical F005 = 3.098; K-We = 7.469 for the critical Test value α=005 = 5.991). Pollen grains from 'thrum' flowers were bigger when coming from plants growing in natural populations (tE = 2.784 for the critical Test value α=005 = 2.001).

Background: Library services must continue in the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic and learning is carried out online. SMA Muhammadiyah 1 (Muhi) Yogyakarta Library has innovations in providing services, so that its role is not replaced by other service providers. One of them is by implementing the service without going down (drive thru). The purpose of this study is to analyze the determination of the drive thru service system in the library of SMA Muhi Yogyakarta during the pandemic and to analyze the obstacles experienced. Methods: This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation study. The data validity test was carried out by using the source triangulation test and data analysis was carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Results: The results show that the implementation of the drive thru service system has been carried out since July 2020. The drive thru service is implemented through two mechanisms, namely scheduled and unscheduled. The scheduled drive thru service implementation mechanism is adjusted to the implementation time agreed upon by the library, school leaders, and library users. Meanwhile, the implementation of unscheduled drive thru services is more flexible according to the agreement between the librarian and the user. Conclusion: Each drive thru system has grooves and procedures, making it easier for the user. The obstacles faced in this service lie in the infrastructure provided, limited human resources, and regulations for the implementation of the drive thru service.

Karenanya, kehadiran signage ini diasumsikan berkontribusi dalam memberi pengaruh pada sendi-sendi kehidupan sosial budaya masyarakat. Penelitian ini menyelidiki fungsi signage McDonald’s drive thru dalam perspektif sosial-budaya. Studi dilakukan dengan kajian pustaka dan lebih ditekankan pada analisis deskriptif kualitatif berkaitan dengan fungsi signage McDonald’s drive thru yang berpotensi menciptakan dampak sosial, gaya hidup, budaya konsumsi dan komersial. Analisis lebih ditekankan pada implikasi sosial budaya dari objek desain dengan tujuan desain. In this work of philosophical short fiction, Tina and Dale live out of their RV, scraping by, and traveling around the United States. Tina was traumatized by being made to attend an evangelical tent revival meeting as child. Now, as adults, they follow these same tent revivals around the United States offering fake exorcisms to anyone willing to pay for their service. In their opinion it doesn’t do any good, or any harm, which is more than can be said for the tent sermons. One day a family pulls up with a child asking for an exorcism. Tina and Dale obligate, however, in the process fail to realize the boy is having a genuine medical emergency. The boy dies during the “exorcism.”

Abstract:

Linum mucronatum es una especie con heterostilia, que pertenece a la sección Syllinum del género Linum, y tiene cuatro subespecies en Irán. En el presente estudio se examinan las características palinológicas de las subespecies heterostilas de Linum mucronatum Bertol., así como los caracteres polínicos de individuos de los morfos brevistilo (pin) y longistilo (thrum) de estas plantas, mediante microscopía electrónica de scanning y microscopía óptica usando el método de acetolisis prolongada. Se estudiaron un total de 16 caracteres cualitativos y cuantitativos. La forma ecuatorial del polen varía entre los morfos pin y thrum en todas las subspecies, excepto en L. mucronatum subsp. assyriacum. La ornamentación también varía entre las muestras de morfos pin y thrum de cada subespecie, en los que se puede observar polen gemado, clavado y baculado. En algunos caracteres palinológicos cuantitativos, se encontraron también diferencias entre morfos y el test de ANOVA muestra que son significativas en cuanto a la longitud ecuatorial, la anchura de los colpos y el diámetro del apocolpio. Los individuos heterostilos de cada susbespecie aparecen separados en el árbol UPGMA y también en los gráficos de PCO y PCA. Este estudio confirma las diferencias en las características del polen entre individuos pin y thrum de cada una de las subespecies.

Background: In 1995, a yearly drive-thru immunization program was initiated in Louisville, KY. Since then, more than 50,000 doses of influenza vaccine have been administered, with no reports of syncopal episodes or vehicular accidents. This report aimed to identify reported adverse events from other areas that could threaten drive-thru mass immunization approaches.Methods: To identify reported adverse events in any drive-thru mass immunization event, the authors queried the following sources: 1) the vaccine adverse event reporting system, 2) court cases, 3) healthcare risk management databases, 4) MEDLINE, and 5) communication with vaccine experts. The authors also calculated the probability of syncopal episodes using data from our past immunization experiences to further elucidate the possibility of these events occurring.Results: No adverse events due to a drive-thru mass immunization event were identified in any of the sources queried. In our data, the forecasted probability of one adverse event was 0.8 percent for a 2-day event (20,000 immunizations).Conclusions: Although syncope may occur following immunization, it is a risk that can be managed, and due to the rarity of these events, should not be used as a reason to avoid drive-thru administration of influenza vaccine.

This study was conducted to determine the inheritance of self-compatibility and homomorphic flower type when the wild species Fagopyrum homotropicum was crossed with common buckwheat (F. esculentum). Unidirectional interspecific hybrids between cultivated F. esculentum Moench. (common buckwheat) and its wild relative F. homotropicum were produced after controlled pollination and embryo rescue culture. Cross-compatibility was found to be better when thrum-type common buckwheat was used as the female parent rather than the pin-type. The resulting F1 plants were partially fertile, late maturing and intermediate between the parents in flower shape and plant height. They segregated into heterostylic (thrum only) and homostylic types in equal numbers, indicating that homostyly is controlled by a single dominant gene. The thrum-type F1 hybrids were backcrossed to common buckwheat and the progenies were raised utilizing embryo rescue culture. The homostylic F1 hybrids were advanced to the F2 and F3 generations through self-fertilization and utilized, together with the BC1F1, for the analysis of the stylar genes. The results obtained indicate that the genes coding for heterostyly and homostyly are controlled by the multiple allelic gene S. It appears that the pin/thrum complex in F. esculentum is governed by a single genetic locus S with two alleles S and s that control the reaction in Ss (thrum-type) as well as the ss (pin-type) plants, respectively. The homomorphic flower type of F. homotropicum is governed by the allele Sh.. These genes can be characterized by a relationship of dominance, i.e. S > Sh > s. The introgression of F. homotropicum genes into common buckwheat was verified by means of electrophoretic analysis of seed proteins. Abstract:Distyly is a floral polymorphism that presumably evolved to facilitate cross-pollination and to prevent sexual interference. However, pollen transfer is often asymmetric, with one floral morph acting as a pollen donor and the other as a pollen recipient. We evaluated the association between floral morphology, pollinator visitation and effectiveness on patterns of pollen transfer in distylous Palicourea tetragona at La Selva Biological Station in Costa Rica. To assess floral variation we measured corolla, pistil and stamen traits from 66 plants. We quantified pollinator visitation and efficiency on 56 individuals and counted pollen loads on stigmas of flowers observed for 1 h. We determined fruit set 2 mo later and assessed between-morph variation in pollen transfer and female reproductive success. Floral variation was mostly consistent with a typical distylous system; however, there was overlap in the stigma heights of pin and thrum individuals in the study population. Primary pollinators were two species of hawkmoths that visited both morphs at a frequency of 2 visits per flower h−1. The mean number of pollen grains deposited on stigmas was 89 for pin and 153 for thrum individuals. However, loads of illegitimate pollen were higher on stigmas of thrum individuals, while loads of legitimate pollen were higher on stigmas of pin individuals. Consistently, fruit set was higher in pin (31%) than in thrum individuals (22%). High deposition of illegitimate pollen, in addition to the lower female reproductive success in the thrum morph reveal that distyly in P. tetragona does not always prevent sexual interference. We suggest that in long and narrow tubular flowers, like those of P. tetragona, stigma clogging by deposition of self- or same-morph pollen may reduce legitimate fertilization of ovules causing the observed asymmetric fruit set.

Based on these results, sterile physiological saline flushing with or without PULL THRU brush was selected for evaluation on 40 flexible endoscopes by adenosine triphosphate (ATP) measurement and bacterial culture. Acceptance criteria from the French National guideline (<25 colony-forming units [CFU] per endoscope and absence of indicator microorganisms) were used as part of the evaluation.RESULTSOn biofilm-coated PTFE tubes, physiological saline in combination with a PULL THRU brush generated higher mean ATP values (2,579 relative light units [RLU]) compared with saline alone (1,436 RLU; P=.047). In the endoscope samples, culture yield using saline plus the PULL THRU (mean, 43 CFU; range, 1–400 CFU) was significantly higher than that of saline alone (mean, 17 CFU; range, 0–500 CFU; P<.001). In samples obtained using the saline+PULL THRU brush method, ATP values of samples classified as unacceptable were significantly higher than those of samples classified as acceptable (P=.001).CONCLUSIONPhysiological saline flushing combined with PULL THRU brush to sample endoscopes generated higher ATP values and increased the yield of microbial surveillance culture. This study aimed to examine the effect of knowledge of the taxpayer, the taxpayer awareness, motor vehicle tax penalties, and the system of samsat drive thru on tax compliance in the motor vehicle in samsat Bantul. The data that is used in this study are primary data from the results of questionnaires. Respondents in this study are the taxpayer automobiles that make tax payments in the system samsat drive-thru. The questionnaire was distributed to 110 respondents and data that can be processed are 100 questionnaires. The sampling method used accidental sampling. The data analysis techniques in this study used multiple linear regression techniques. Results of regression analysis showed that the awareness of taxpayers and system of samsat drive-thru has positive effect on tax compliance motor vehicle while knowledge of taxpayers and tax penalties vehicle had no significant effect on tax compliance vehicle. Transformer-based shunt single pole, double-throw (SPDT) switches are analyzed, and design equations are provided. A mm-wave transformer-based SPDT shunt switch prototype was designed and fabricated in 90 nm digital CMOS process. It has a minimum insertion loss of 3.4 dB at 50 GHz from the single pole to the ON-thru port and a leakage of 19 dB from the single pole to the OFF-thru port. The isolation is 13.7 dB between the two thru ports. Large signal measurements verify that the switch is capable of handling +14 dBm of input power at its 1 dB compression point. The fabricated SPDT switch has a minute active area size of 60 μm×60 μm.

The purpose of this research is to identifity the effectiveness of monthly tax return reporting activities through the drive-thru service in KPP Pratama Singosari. The effectiveness was identified by comparing the objective of the drive thru service and its achievment since it is enacted. This research used qualitative descriptive method and depth interview, observation and documentation as data collecting method. The results this study indicates that the drive thru service is generally effective, however, it does not give asignificant effect for the KPP’s service in term of the monthly tax return reporting service.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variabel kesadaran wajib pajak dan Sistem Drive Thru Samsat terhadap tingkat kepatuhan wajib pajak. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah Wajib Pajak di Kantor Samsat Jakarta Barat. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 100 responden. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan kuesioner. Kemudian data diproses menggunakan program Microsoft Excel dan Statistik Paket Ilmu Sosial (SPSS) versi 22. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesadaran wajib pajak dan sistem Samsat Drive Thru memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kepatuhan wajib pajak menggunakan uji t atau uji F. Angka Adjusted R Square sebesar 0,472 menunjukkan bahwa 47,2% kepatuhan wajib pajak dipengaruhi oleh kesadaran wajib pajak dan sistem Drive Thru Samsat dan 52,8% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar variabel penelitian ini

Drive thru merupakan sebuah layanan yang dianggap sebuah sistem modern, konsumen dapat dengan mudah memesan makanan ataupun minuman walau masih berada didalam kendaraan dan tidak perlu masuk kedalam toko. Dalam sistem pemesanan drive thru konsumen datang ke toko yang dituju lalu dapat memesan sebuah makanan dari kendaraan tanpa perlu masuk kedalam restoran, dimana cara pemesanannya memesan secara langsung didepan gerai mikrofon yang sudah terhubung ke kasir khusus untuk konsumen drive thru dan jika sudah, konsumen dapat melanjutkan ke kasir untuk melakukan pembayaran serta pengambilan pesanan. Pada penelitian ini diusulkan sistem pemesanan makanan pada drive thru toko, dengan membuatkan aplikasi dan web admin dimana konsumen dapat melakukan pemesanan dengan cepat, serta terdapat juga Qrcode yang berfungsi sebagai tanda pembelian user dan saldo Epay yang mempermudah proses pembayaran. Web berfungsi sebagai data admin. Hasil pengujian dapat disimpulkan bahwa deteksi Qrcode pada Qrcode scanner memiliki rata-rata akurat baca pada jarak 2,98cm, dalam uji Qos yang dilakukan dengan berbeda jaringan, hasilnya dimana provider telkomsel mendapat delay terkecil dengan nilai 0.121766.

The method of analysis uses multiple linear regression. The population was taken from motorized taxpayers who were registered at the Bandar Lampung Samsat Office. The sample used in this study was 100 respondents and the sampling technique used random sampling. The variables in this study are independent variables, namely taxpayer awareness (X1), tax sanctions (X2) and samsat drive thru system (X3), while the dependent variable is taxpayer compliance (Y). data were analyzed using SPSS. The results showed that the awareness of taxpayers, tax sanctions, and samsat drive thru systems simultaneously had a positive and significant effect on taxpayer compliance in paying motor vehicle tax at the Bandar Lampung Samsat Office.

Abstract:

We studied the development of reproductive structures in pin and thrum morphs of Erythroxylum havanense. The young anther wall consists of an epidermis, endothecium , 1-3 middle layers anda binucleate secretory tapetum. The mature anther wall has only two layers: epidermis and endothecium. Microspore tetrads are tetrahedral or isobilateral. Mature pollen grains are tricolporate, bicellular and contain starch grains. Exine sculpturing is verrugate in thrum pollen and reticulate in pin pollen. The ovule is sessile, pendulous, anatropous, bitegmic and crassinucellate. The embryo sac is heptacellular. An endothelium is differentiated. The endosperm development is nuclear, and the basal part of the nucellus persists during early endosperm development. Both integuments form the seed coat.
