In this work, the precipitates in Ti−Mo−V steel were systematically characterized by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). The thermodynamics and kinetics of precipitates in Ti−Mo and Ti−Mo−V steels were theoretically analyzed, and the effect of vanadium on the precipitation behavior was clarified. The results showed that the precipitation volume fraction of the Ti−Mo−V steel was significantly higher than that of Ti−Mo steel. The randomly dispersed precipitation and interphase precipitation (Ti, Mo, V)C particles coexisted in the Ti−Mo−V steel. When the temperature was high

AbstractThe characteristics of large precipitates in H13 tool steel with 0.015wt% Ti were studied. The result shows that three types of phases larger than 1 μm exist in the as-cast ingot, that is, (Ti, V) (C, N) type phase, (V, Mo, Cr)C type phase and sulfide. (Ti, V) (C, N) type phase could be further classified as the homogeneous Ti-rich one and the Ti-V-rich one in which Ti/V ratio gradually changes. (V, Mo, Cr)C type phase contains the V-rich one and the Mo-Cr-rich one. The compositional characteristics in all of them have little relation with the cutting position or cooling rate. The prec

Abstract:
Abstract This study assesses the effect of different alloying elements on the microstructure, oxygen content, hardness, and corrosion resistance of stainless steel coatings produced by atmospheric plasma spraying. SUS836L stainless steel powder with Si, Mn, and B additions served as the base feedstock alloy to which different amounts of B, C, Mo, Ti, Nb, V, and Cu were added. The powder mixtures were sprayed on carbon steel substrates and the deposits were examined and tested. The results show that B and C additions of 2-3% have a beneficial effect, but at 5% cause a drop in corrosion resistan

The adsorption of CO and NH₃ gases on the cubic ZrO2 (110) surface was investigated by two–dimensionally periodic slab model DFT method. The relative adsorption energies of these gases on the cubic ZrO₂ (110) surface is in order: NH₃ > CO. The adsorption energies of NH3 on the cubic ZrO₂ (110) surface are –27.62 and –25.51 kcal/mol, obtained using the PBE0 and B3LYP methods, respectively. The CO adsorption on the cubic ZrO2 (110) surface –11.39 and –9.81 kcal/mol, obtained using the PBE0 with rigid and flexible models, respectively. Abstract:
In recent years, several pipe mills have produced heavy-wall, large diameter pipe from plates of microalloyed steels that were controlled-rolled to develop properties to meet the API 5LX Grade 70 or Grade 80 requirements and that were electric resistance welded (ERW) using advanced techniques. The use of advanced electric seam-welding practices on the steels produced using advanced steel making and processing methods offers the possibility of obtaining high strength line pipe at a lower cost than pipes produced from similar steels but with double submerged arc seam welds.
