Abstract:
A multi-ride ticket with a certain period of validity and maximum number of uses has been introduced into railway transport. The key to pricing the railway multi-ride ticket is determining the uncertain demand within an agreed time limit. Unfortunately, limited studies have focused on this pricing issue. Therefore, we focused on railway multi-ride ticket pricing optimization in two different scenarios: a single train with multiple stops and multiple trains with multiple stops. First, the expected coefficient and incentive coefficient were introduced to describe the decision-making process for

The exponential growth of the secondary ticket market is primarily driven by proliferation of secondary ticket market companies (i.e., ticket resale platforms). With these different ticket resale platforms exhibiting varying levels of reputation, the role of reputation has become increasingly pivotal, influencing consumers’ decision making in the ticket purchase process. Utilizing signaling theory as a theoretical framework, this study employs a multi-study experimental design to examine the impact of reputation on consumers’ purchase decisions under different pricing conditions (e.g., partiti

This paper aims to analyze how these factors affect ticket pricing and explore how airlines can optimize their pricing strategies in practice. In practice, airlines continue to optimize pricing strategies, through dynamic pricing, class management, promotional activities and other means to increase ticket sales and profits. Alpine ski areas worldwide use daily lift-ticket pricing rather than individual ride-ticket pricing. Robert Barra and Paul Romer argue that the ski ride industry is a competitive market and that identical equilibriums and revenues are reached with either pricing method. They also argue that sticky lift ticket prices and lift-line queues are efficient. Lift-ticket pricing dominates because of lower monitoring costs. Tests of their model's predictions, however, do not support their model. A monopolistic ski-lift pricing model is developed. The monopoly model predicts that lift-ticket pricing wou

In particular, media claims that ski areas on these season passes are charging higher single-day lift ticket prices to nudge people to buy their season pass products. To test this claim, I use a hedonic pricing model to estimate the impact of season passes on adult single-day lift ticket prices.
