Abstract:
In this paper, concept of supersymmetric quantum mechanics has been employed to derive expression for bound state energy eigenvalues of the Tietz-Hulthén potential, the corresponding equation for normalized radial eigenfunctions were deduced by ansatz solution technique. In dealing with the centrifugal term of the effective potential of the Schrödinger equation, a Pekeris-like approximation recipe is considered. By means of the expression for bound state energy eigenvalues and radial eigenfunctions, equations for expectation values of inverse separation-squared and kinetic energy of the Tietz-Hulthén potential were obtained from the Hellmann-Feynman theorem. Numerical values of bound state energy eigenvalues and expectation values of inverse separation-squared and kinetic energy the Tietz-Hulthén potential were computed at arbitrary principal and angular momentum quantum numbers. Results obtained for computed energy eigenvalues of Tietz-Hulthén potential corresponding to Z = 0 and V0 = 0 are in excellent agreement with available literature data for Tietz and Hulthén potentials respectively. Studies have also revealed that increase in parameter Z results in monotonic increase in the mean kinetic energy of the system. The results obtained in this work may find suitable applications in areas of physics such as: atomic physics, chemical physics, nuclear physics and solid state physics

Abstract:
Waardenburg syndrome (WS) is a group of rare genetic disorders characterized by hearing loss, changes in coloring of hair, skin, and eyes, and alterations in the shape of the face. Tietz syndrome is another rare disorder which presented similar phenotypes to WS. Patients with Tietz/Waardenburg syndrome often present with pale blue eyes, albino skin, and distinctive hair coloring, such as a patch of white hair or hair that prematurely turns gray. At present, more than six candidate genes are responsible for four types of Waardenburg syndrome and Tietz syndrome. This study is aimed at identifying the pathogenic gene variants in a three-generation Han Chinese family with hearing loss, blue-gray iris, albino skin, and white hair. In order to discover the molecular genetic lesion underlying the disease phenotype, whole exome sequencing in the proband, with Tietz/Waardenburg syndrome phenotypes, of a Han Chinese family from HeBei, China, was conducted. A novel heterozygous c.650G>C/p.Arg217Thr variant in melanocyte inducing transcription factor (MITF) was identified. Sanger sequencing further validated that this mutation existed in three affected individuals and absent in healthy family members. Bioinformatics analysis predicted that this mutation was deleterious. Our study further identified the genetic lesion of the family. Simultaneously, our study may also contribute to genetic counseling, embryonic screening of in vitro fertilized embryos, and prenatal genetic diagnosis of patients with Tietz/Waardenburg syndrome, especially for the proband, unmarried and unpregnant women, to reduce familial transmission in this Han Chinese family.

We solve the Schrödinger equation with the improved Tietz empirical potential energy model. The rotation-vibrational energy spectra and the unnormalized radial wave functions have been obtained. Abstract:
Taking the dissociation energy and the equilibrium bond length as explicit parameters, we construct an improved form of the deformed hyperbolic Kratzer-like potential function for diatomic molecules. We show that the deformed hyperbolic Kratzer-like potential model is equivalent to the Tietz potential model for diatomic molecules. We observe that the Tietz potential is superior to the Morse potential in reproducing the interaction potential energy curve for the 23Πg state of the 7Li2 molecule.

Abstract:
AbstractWe give a positive answer to a question of Horst Tietz. A theorem of his that is related to the Mittag-Leffler theorem looks like a duality restult under some locally convex topology on the space of meromorphic functions. Tietz has posed the problem of finding such a topology. It is shown that a topology introduced by Holdguün in 1973 solves the problem. The main tool in the study of this topology is a projective description of it that is derived here. We also argue that Holdgrün's topology is the natural locally convex topology on the space of meromorphic functions.

Larvae of the mourning cloak butterfly, Nymphalis antiopa (L.), are gregarious feeders occumng most commonly on Salix spp. (willows), Ulmus spp. (elms), Populus spp. (poplars), and Betula spp. (birches), but occasionally on other trees and shrubs (McGugan 1958; Tietz 1972; Howe 1975).
