The complex structural behaviour of masonry, with its brittle response in tension, frictional response in shear, and anisotropy, makes it challenging to model accurately. Tile vaults, with their unique features such as different binders and bricks placed flat, have distinctive structural performance, and determining the most suitable assessment method is still a subject of debate in both academic and professional circles. This paper presents a study on the structural analysis of tile vaults, aiming at evaluating different numerical approaches for this type of structure. The examination of thes

Preliminary measurements, which included covering the reflective center aisle, substantiated the hypothesis that the acoustical behavior was caused by the interaction between the center aisle and the barrel-vaulted ceiling.

Data is the new fuel. With the expansion of global technology, the increasing living standards, and modernization, data values have caught great height. Nowadays, nearly all top MNCs feed on data. Now, storing all this data is a prime concern for all of them, which is relieved by the Data Structures, the systematic way of storing data. Now, once these data are stored and charged in secure vaults, it’s time to utilize them most efficiently. Now, many operations need to be performed on these massive chunks of data, like searching, sorting, inserting, deleting, merging, and so more. In this paper

In the recovery and restoration sites, as well as in the versatile word of university research about construction history, it’s not infrequent to study stereotomy for the re-proposal of stony or tiled vaulted systems, sometimes complex for their constitutive geometry, equipment, preliminary/subsidiary carpentry works. It represents a didactic study-key also in Engineering and Architecture Schools, through laboratories that teach to future designers a “know-how” that can be easily spent in their professional repercussions.

The Virgin Galaktotrophousa (1799), the main church of an old monastery close to the village Anthousa near Trikala in the region of Aspropotamos, is a single-nave church with an abbreviated dome, lateral apses and a later narthex to the west. Above the narthex there was a chapel dedicated to the Beheading of Saint John the Forerunner. It is covered by a gabled roof from which the dome springs. The protrusion on the exterior of the tiled roof of the west part of the naos leads to the hypothesis that the narthex was vaulted, possibly with a shallow dome. The abbreviated form of the dome, the pla

BackgroundPancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD) is a formidable challenge in oncology research, with a complex pathogenesis that requires to be explored. Major Vault Protein (MVP) is the principal structural component of the vault complex, and its expression level is remarkably upregulated in various cancers. Extensive investigations have been conducted to explore the role of MVP in specific cancer contexts, yet the potential molecular mechanisms and biological functions of MVP in PAAD still remain considerably elusive. This study aims to explore the role of MVP as a novel immune-related biomarker

This paper describes historic technical solutions used to suspend lightweight partitions from timber trusses in one of the most relevant aristocratic residences in Palermo. The study examines part of the building, namely a masonry box 24-m long and 10-m wide. This large space, articulated in two storeys, was divided into rooms by lightweight walls and ceilings. The construction analysis of these partitions and the above roof trusses was carried out through an observational study during the recent restoration of the building. The main focus of this paper is a complex system of reinforcements an

Located in the center of the village of Embaros in the Pediada Eparchy, the church of St. George in Embaros is a single nave construction with a pointed barrel vault. Divided into three bays, the raised transverse arches are decorated at each of their terminuses with a coat of arms on a red ground, presumably that of the donor's family. The exterior is composed of exposed stone covered by a tiled gable roof. The primary entrance, located on the west side of the building, is framed by a pointed arch which once likely held a painting, now whitewashed. The roof is topped by a later belfry. A mode
