This study is carried out to examine the influence of Malaysian conventional interest rate and narrow money supply (M1) upon the growth of Islamic total deposits (ITD) in Malaysia Islamic financial system. Even though it is a known fact that there is a clear separation between Islamic and conventional financial markets, the study is still pursued on the spirit of providing the latest empirical evidence. Since Malaysia is one of the biggest players in Islamic financial products, it is always the centre of attraction among the world investment community. Using 3-month Interbank rate (IBR) coupled with the deployment of Engle-Granger Cointegration Test (1987) as an estimation tool, the results from Error Correction model uncovers that ITD and IBR are not cointegated. There is also an absence of short-run relationship between these two variables. On the contrary, this bi-variate cointegration test proves the presence of equilibrium relationship between ITD and M1 but fail to support the dynamic relation between them. From the analysis of dynamic interactions via impulse-response functions and variance decomposition, the study reveals that ITD is the most exogenous variable of all. As such, ITD is unquestionably a leading economic indicator.

Ernest Armstrong McCulloch was half of the brilliant partnership that discovered haematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and changed how we think about human tissue generation and regeneration. Based at the Ontario Cancer Institute (now the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre) in Toronto, the haematologist ‘Bun’ McCulloch, together with James E. Till, a physicist with a steel-trap mind, exercised their penchant for adventurous ‘big picture’ thinking in devising experiments to identify stem cells. This exceptional team was the first to demonstrate that HSCs have the dual capacity to self-renew and to differentiate into a vast array of mature haematopoietic cells. Their trainees, as well as investigators elsewhere, built on McCulloch and Till's findings not only to isolate and characterize HSCs and progenitors derived from them, but also to devise therapies for certain blood disorders. Later in his career, Ernest focused on characterizing the malignant cells of human leukaemias and determining the effects of various drugs on leukaemic cell growth. The implications of Till and McCulloch's work continue to be profound and underpin many significant breakthroughs in our knowledge of normal cellular physiology, pathophysiology, tumorigenesis and tissue transplantation. Indeed, regenerative medicine owes its very existence to the stem cell discoveries of McCulloch, Till and others. At times eccentric and demanding, but always well spoken, incisive and erudite, Ernest personified the outstanding research scientist cloaked in Canadian modesty. His legacy lives on in the bright therapeutic future emerging from the rigorous stem cell research being conducted in Canada and around the world.

The time of year the adults (flight period) of the parasitoids of S. oleae: Μetaphycus helvolus, Μetaphycus lounsburyi, Scutelista cyanea and Moranila californica and the predator Chilocorus bipustulatus are present, was determined in three areas of Corfu island: Lima, Kontocali and Avliotes. M. helvolus apparently has two flight periods: the first is from April till July and the second from November till December. All the other natural enemies have only one flight period per year. The flight period of M. lounsburyi is from April till August, while S. cyanea flies from August till the end of September or the first days of October, and M. californica adults are present from July till the middle of December. Adults of C. bipustulatus appeared from July till December or the middle of January.

The scrapbooks and wartime papers of American Alma A. Clarke reveal how one woman repurposed gendered propaganda during the Great War. Clarke was in France from January 1918 to July 1919 as both a child welfare worker with the Comité franco-américain pour la protection des enfants de la frontier and as an auxiliary nurse in the American Red Cross Military Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine. The Great War provided Clarke with new ways to contribute, new arenas in which to share her expertise, and perhaps most importantly, new perspectives on the significance of her contributions to society.

AbstractThe results presented in this paper of water level fluctuations in selected lakes of Wielkopolski National Park have a preliminary character, contributing new information to the knowledge on this area. Five lakes situated in three distinct tunnel valleys were selected for research: Jarosławieckie, Góreckie, Budzyńskie, Witobelskie and Łódzko-Dymaczewskie. The water level was measured from December 2006 till January 2008 and from January till December of 2012 with ca. monthly frequency. An increase in the water stage was noted in the autumn-winter period, which was rather unusual. The comparison of years 2007 and 2012 indicated higher water levels in the latter. The amplitude of the water level was higher in flow-through lakes due to the reaction to precipitation in early spring as well as different catchment features. Specific water level fluctuations in Lake Góreckie are probably related to the influence of groundwater of the Wielkopolska fossil valley.

Introduction: COVID-19 was first reported on 31 December 2019 from China. It was first confirmed in Nepal on 23 January 2020. Government enforced first wave of nationwide ‘lockdown’ for one week on 24 March 2020 and fourth from 16 April for 12 days. This paper aims to compute effectiveness of lockdown on COVID-19 cases in Nepal.
 Method: Doubling times were calculated using official COVID-19 records first, and then, the number of COVID-19 cases based on various doubling time scenarios staring 23 January 2020 were computed and compared with the official cases of Nepal. All the calculations were done in Microsoft Excel.
 Result: Doubling time was 60-day between first and second case, 5-day between 2nd and 5th, 15-day between 5th and 12th and again 5-day between 12th to 30th cases. Doubling time increased to 15-day after the lockdown. Estimated doubling time was 28 days till March, 21 days till 12 April and 18 days till 17 April 2020 and it is expected to reach 15 days on 24 April 2020.
 Conclusion: The reported COVID-19 cases doubling time was 5, 15 and 5 days in Nepal after the lockdown. The doubling time increased due to lockdown.

Dengue fever (DF) is a serious public health problem in many parts of the world, and, in the absence of a vaccine, disease surveillance and mosquito vector eradication are important in controlling the spread of the disease. DF is primarily transmitted by the femaleAedes aegyptimosquito. We compared two statistical models that can be used in the surveillance and forecast of notifiable infectious diseases, namely, the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model and the Knorr-Held two-component (K-H) model. The Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) was used to compare models. We developed the models using used data on DF notifications in Singapore from January 2001 till December 2006 and then validated the models with data from January 2007 till June 2008. The K-H model resulted in a slightly lower MAPE value of 17.21 as compared to the ARIMA model. We conclude that the models' performances are similar, but we found that the K-H model was relatively more difficult to fit in terms of the specification of the prior parameters and the relatively longer time taken to run the models.

<p>Denna uppsats undersöker debatten kring mordet på Fadime Sahindal utifrån ett feministiskt postkolonialt angreppssätt. Det är främst tre huvudfrågor som undersöks; Hur beskrivs de flickor/unga kvinnor som utsätts för hedersrelaterat våld i media? Beskrivs de enligt stereotypa föreställningar om "förtryckta invandrarflickor" eller som handlingskraftiga individer?</p><p>Den andra frågan är hur förövare av hedersrelaterat våld beskrivs?</p><p>Den tredje och sista frågan är att se vilken/a synsätt på hedersrelaterat våld som dominerade nyhetsrapporteringen vid denna tidpunkt.</p><p>För att få svar på dessa frågor analyserades artiklar från Aftonbladet, Dagens Nyheter, Expressen och Svenska Dagbladet under januari 2002. I analysen användes kritisk diskursanalys.</p><p>Analysen visar att de flickor/unga kvinnor som utsätts för hedersrelaterat våld till stor del beskrivs som handlingskraftiga individer om strävade mot individuell frihet. Denna frihet är starkt sammankopplad med "svenskhet". "Svenskhet" beskrivs positivt och får symbolisera individuell autonomi och jämlikhet. De "svenska flickorna" beskrivs positivt och framställs som (ouppnåeliga) ideal för "invandrarflickorna".</p><p>Förövarna av hedersrelaterat våld beskrivs som patriarkala och bakåtsträvande "invandrarmän". De ses dels som offer för sin "kultur" vilket gör dem predestinerade att handla på visa sätt, dels beskrivs de som psykiskt sjuka. Den första beskrivningen dominerar rapporteringen och i denna sker en stark uppdelning i "vi" ("svenska, jämställda män") och "Dom" ("invandrade, patriarkala män"). I liten utsträckning förekommer en kritisk hållning till detta essentiella sysnsätt på "Dom" och "deras kultur". Istället dominerar ett kulturessentialistiskt synsätt både vad gäller beskrivningar av förövare och debatten i allmänhet. Detta befäster "svenskhet" och både den "svenska/e kvinnan/mannen" som jämställda och som den outtalade norm mot vilken "de Andra" ställs.</p>

EU:s institutioner bereder för närvarande en förordning innehållandes internationellt privat- och processrättsliga regler i mål om makars förmögenhetsförhållanden. Det senast presenterade textförslaget (kompromissförslaget) lades fram av Italien den 10 november 2014. Uppsatsen har två syften. För det första syftar den till att synliggöra vissa av de gränsdragnings- och tillämpningsproblem som skulle uppstå om kompromissförslaget skulle antas i dess nuvarande utformning. För det andra syftar uppsatsen till att erbjuda lösningar på de problem som identifieras. Uppsatsens fokus ligger på följande aspekter av förslaget: Materiellt tillämpningsområde. Domsrättsreglering i mål med anledning av en makes död. Lagvalsreglering. Förbehållen för internationellt tvingande regler och ordre public. För det första kan förordningens gränsdragning gentemot inomstatliga tvister och underhålls-frågor vålla problem. För att minska dessa problem bör det i en artikel anges att förordningen endast är tillämplig på tvister som har internationell anknytning och att en tillräcklig internationell anknytning föreligger om en av makarna innehar tillgångar som är belägna utomlands. För att avgränsa förordningens tillämpningsområde gentemot underhållsfrågor bör nationella domstolar följa den metod som anvisades i van den Boogard. Denna metod är bland annat adekvat för att kvalificera avtal mahr (islamisk brudpenning). Det är däremot inte möjligt att använda metoden för att kvalificera en dom i vilken 12 kap. 1 § äktenskapsbalken (skevdelningsregeln) har tillämpats. Enligt min mening bör i så fall den nationella domstolen göra en helhetsbedömning utifrån svaren på följande frågeställningar: Vilket är originaldomens huvudsakliga syfte? I vilken utsträckning beaktas makarnas behov och förmåga i originaldomen? För det andra är domsrättsreglering av mål med anledning av makes död problematiska. Art. 3 i kompromissförslaget hänvisar nämligen till arvsförordningen, vilket i praktiken kan leda till att den avlidnes barn gynnas på bekostnad av den efterlevande maken. Enligt min mening bör denna problematik minskas genom att den efterlevande maken ges en exklusiv rätt att avgöra om lagvalsreglerna i arvsförordningen eller i art. 5 kompromissförslaget ska tillämpas i ett mål om makarnas förmögenhetsförhållanden. För det tredje kan kompromissförslagets lagvalsregler leda till problematik. Eftersom deras utformning skiljer från lagvalsreglerna i arvsförordningen och 2007 års Haagprotokoll finns det en risk att en make över- eller underkompenseras ekonomiskt. Risken kan minskas genom att makarna ingår ett lagvalsavtal eller genom att en domare tillämpar en nationell jämkningsregel eller en EU-rättslig flyktklausul (t.ex. art. 5 i 2007 års Haagprotokoll). För att ytterligare minska risken för att över- och underkompensation bör en flyktklausul införas i förslaget till förordning om makars förmögenhetsförhållanden. En viss lagvalsregel är särskilt problematisk, nämligen art. 20a.3 i kompromissförslaget (hemvistbytesregeln). Artikeln har en bristande flexibilitet och bör därför förändras på följande vis: Rekvisitet ”undantagsvis” bör avlägsnas. Istället bör den i punkt 2 föreslagna tidsgränsen spegla den restriktivitet som önskas. Istället för att lagen i makarnas nya hemvistland ska bli tillämplig efter en ”avsevärt mycket längre tid” bör en fast tidsgräns införas. Det bör förtydligas vad som avses med kravet på att makarna ska ha åberopat lagen i den andra staten för att ordna eller planera sina förmögenhetsförhållanden. Enligt min mening är det lämpligt att hämta vägledning till hur tidsgränsen (se punkt 2) bör utformas i 4 § andra stycket lagen (1990:272) om internationella frågor rörande makars och sambors förmögenhetsförhållanden. För det fjärde finns problematik med anknytning till kompromissförslagets förbehåll för internationellt tvingande regler och ordre public. Av resonemanget framgår att lagstiftaren måste föra ett detaljerat resonemang (a detailed assessment) för att 7 kap. 4–9 §§, 11 kap. 8 § och 12 kap. 1–3 §§ äktenskapsbalken (1987:230) ska kunna betecknas som internationellt tvingande även efter att förordningen har trätt i kraft. Slutligen dras slutsatsen att det är önskvärt att ramarna är snäva när det gäller en nationell domstols möjligheter att underlåta att tillämpa utländsk rätt som ger rättskraft åt avtal om mahr.

Functions are no longer the main factor for consumers when purchasing a product or service. Micro movies have emerged as a new medium for the advertising and marketing sector to communicate with consumers or convey messages via storytelling. The trend of micro movies may be credited to their eye-catching emotional appeals, the popularization of internet, as well as the increasing use rate and ever-enhanced convenience of smartphones and tablet PCs. Advertising with micro movies presents touching brand stories and promotes brand identification.
The FCB advertising model features two dimensions: “rational involvement” and “emotional involvement.” FCB helps to formulate advertising strategies based on consumers’ decision-making process prior to making a purchase. This study employs the FCB model for the advertising strategy for the San-He Tile Kiln project. Micro movies: “Bliss-laden Cultural Tour” and “Memory of January 2nd” were also filmed for this project, with the former centering on rational involvement and the latter resorting to emotional involvement. The four major features in stories: message, conflict, characters and plot are used to analyze the storytelling marketing embedded in the creation of the micro movies. This research focuses on an analysis of the two micro movies, which are screened on campus and in virtual communities in order to achieve the desired effects of marketing the products and building the brand image of San-He Tile Kiln.

The overall development of business operations logistics activities becomes more important for firms with the globalization of economy and therefore performance measurement being equally important. In order to break monopolistic control of Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), Indian Railways entered for competition in the container segment in January 2006 through private-public participation for customer centric competitiveness. The purpose of this book chapter is to benchmark the performance indicators in CONCOR. A case study has been conducted employing basic and super-efficiency models of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) on secondary data of CONCOR, Adani and Gateway container terminals from 1995-96 till 2010-11 for performance evaluation within CONCOR and comparative analysis for three organizations from 2005-06 till 2010-11. The exercise identified efficiency trends fluctuating between 87.5% to 1000% within CONCOR owing to haphazard infrastructure developed while comparison with private players showed 38.31% to 77.59% efficiency fluctuation concurrent to licensing policy norms.

The failure of the ‘Addled Parliament’ in 1614, gets discussed. Against good advice, King James summoned the parliament and spoke to it on three occasions, all to no avail. Infighting and intransigence doomed the legislative attempts. The narrative arc of 1613 plausibly ends with the Accession Day Tilt on 24 March 1614, a spectacular display in the Whitehall Tiltyard, led by the Duke of Lennox, a fitting end to the exploration of cultural life.

(b) To audit the type of care given to the patients with respect to their stage at presentation. (c) To compare the outcomes of open v/s robotic radical hysterectomy done for cervical cancer. Methods: We prospectively analyzed all cases of cervical cancer from January 2011 to January 2015 presenting at our institute. Data was retrieved from patient’s records and institute’s tumor registry. We compared all patients undergoing open v/s robotic RH. All the data were analysed using SPSS version 21. Results: A total of 562 patients were treated for cervical cancer during the time period between 2011-2015. Of these there were 316 (56%) cases taken up for surgery-212 robotic RH, 104 open radical hysterectomy and rest 246 (44%) patients received definitive CCRT. Most common age group was 40-54 yrs. IB1 stage was most common presenting stage. SCC was most common histology (75%). Immediate post op complication and oncological safety in terms of local recurrence was same in both groups. However length of stay and post operative blood requirement was significantly lower in robotic RH group. 45% of all patients who underwent surgery did not require adjuvant therapy in post op period while 35% patient required post op RT and 20% CCRT. 2.2% patient had local recurrence and most of the patients were in stage IIA1 at presentation. Conclusion: Cervical cancer is the most common gynecological cancer in our hospital registry. Mostly women were in the age group of 40-54 years. Most common stage at presentation was 1B and the histology being SCC. Not many differences seen in open v/s robotic techniques of radical hysterectomy except for shorter hospital stay and less need of blood transfusion in the robotic group. Local recurrence rates are comparable in both open and robotic groups.

The Orsini Colonna castle of Avezzano represents one of the most important historic buildings in the internal area of Abruzzo. Founded at the end of the fifteenth century, on the rests of an older structure, with continuing modification till the sixteenth century, the building had several damages with the earthquake of January thirteenth 1915, which destroyed the entire city Avezzano and the neighborhood, causing more than 30000 victims. After the quake event, the efforts and the works for the preservation didn’t have the time to start, because of the beginning of the world wars; in particular, the castle suffered more damages with the three different bombardments on the city in 1943 and 1944. The first works of recovering and restoration were achieved in 1964 by the Genio Civile of Avezzano, the corps of engineers, with the direction of Tommaso Orlandi; in this intervention, the building had been interested by the recovering of the structures, with the reconstruction of the perimeter walls, also with the purpose of avoiding deterioration and the complete abandonment. The second works were conducted by the architect Alessandro Del Bufalo, who designed the restoration of the entire building, inserting an internal concert hall in the courtyard with a new structure in steel and glass, recovering the castle basement under the towers, and creating a modern art gallery museum in the second level. The works finished in 1994. This paper aims to redefine the historical development of the building, focusing in particular on the restoration interventions of the last century, and their different methods in the efforts of preservation, which approached to the preservation and reconstruction of the building in different ways.

Abstract Introduction Ovarian cancer is the third most common cancer and the second most common cause of death among gynecological cancers in Indian women. Ovarian cancer is heterogeneous, among them, epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is the most common. Primary cytoreductive surgery along with six to eight cycles of a combination of platinum and taxanes chemotherapy is the cornerstone of first-line treatment in EOC. This study was done to find clinicopathological factors affecting survival outcomes with first-line therapy in EOC in a real-world setting. Objectives This study was aimed to find factors affecting progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) with first-line treatment in EOC. Materials and Methods We conducted a single-center retrospective study. We screened all the patients diagnosed with ovarian cancer from January 2015 till December 2019. We locked data in August 2019. Eligible patients were histologically confirmed EOC who underwent primary cytoreduction or received more than or equal to two cycles of chemotherapy or both. Patients who had received first-line treatment at another hospital were excluded. Results Patients demographics and clinical characteristics: between January 5, 2015 to August 31, 2019, 435 patients with a diagnosis of ovarian malignancy were registered at our center. Among them, 406 (82%) had EOC, 290 (64%) newly diagnosed, and fulfilling eligibility criteria were included in the final analysis. The median age of the cohort was 53 years (range: 21–89 years) and 157 patients (54%) were >50 years of age (the Eastern Oncology Cooperative Group Performance status was ≥ 2 in 124 patients [43%]; median duration of symptoms was 3 months; and stage III/IV: 240 [83%]). Grading of the tumor was available in 240 patients of which 219 (91%) were of high grade. Subtyping was available in 272 patients (94%) of which the serous subtype was the most common constituting 228 patients (79%).Treatment Most patients received chemotherapy (n = 283 [98%]) as the first modality of treatment (neoadjuvant/adjuvant and palliative). As neoadjuvant (NACT) in 130 patients (45%) and as adjuvant following surgery in 81 patients (29%). The most common chemotherapy regimen was a combination of carboplatin and paclitaxel in 256 patients (88%). Among 290 patients 218 (75%) underwent cytoreductive surgery. Among them, optimal cytoreduction was achieved in 108 patients (52%). Optimal cytoreduction rate (OCR) with upfront surgery and after NACT was 44 and 53%, respectively (Chi-square test: 0.86; p = 0.35).Survival The median follow-up of the study was 17 months (range: 10–28 months) and it was 20 months (range: 12–35 months) for patients who were alive. At last, follow-up, 149 patients (51%) had progressed and 109 (38%) died. The estimated median PFS and OS were 19 months (95% CI: 16.1–21.0) and 39 months (95% CI: 29.0–48.8), respectively. On multivariate analysis, primary surgery (HR: 0.1, 95% CI: 0.06–0.21; p-value: <0.001) and early-stage disease (HR: 0.2, 95% CI: 0.1–0.6; p-value 0.04) were associated with superior PFS and primary surgery (HR: 0.1, 95% CI: 0.09–0.2; p-value: <0.001) was associated with superior OS. Conclusion Primary surgery (upfront or interval) was associated with improved survival. Newer agents like bevacizumab, poly-ADP (adenosine diphosphate)-ribose polymerase inhibitors and HIPEC should be incorporated precisely into first line of therapy to improve outcomes.

Background: Complement system is one of ancient innate immune systems in our body fighting against pathogens and foreign bodies. Either one of its three pathways, classical, alternative or lectin activates it. Because of its role and importance in combating against different pathological conditions, it works through defined proteins including regulators and inhibitors. However, over or under stimulation of complement system can lead to various diseases. A number of analytical assays are used to measure complement proteins and its activation states considering complement 3 (C3), complement 4 (C4) as the most common test used. Objectives: Our aims are to study the clinical utility and cost effectiveness of C3 and C4 among different clinical subspecialties in Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Doha-Qatar. Design and methods: A retrospective study was conducted using electronic medical records to generate patient’s list from clinical immunology laboratory at HMC. Data on 326 patients were collected from 1st January till 31st March, 2017 and used as pilot study after omitting duplications. The data was studied for its demographical, disease categories, C3 and C4 test results. C3 and C4 test cost were calculated inside HMC and compared to other healthcare providers in country and abroad. Results: A total of 326 patients, 148 males and 178 females (M/F ratio:0.8:1), of age (mean age ±SD) of 36 ± 17.6 years. 289(86%) were >15 years and 47(14%) were 15 or less. Kidney diseases (34%), autoimmune diseases (25%), and allergic diseases (18%) were the top 3 diseases, and constituted 77% of all diseases. 45/336 (13.4%) showed low C3, C4, or both. Mean levels of C3 (±SD) was 120.8 ±36.3 mg/dl, and C4 was27.85±11.9 mg/dl. High C3 and C4 levels were observed in 53 (15.7%) of patients. The cost of performing one test either C3 or C4 in HMC is 22 QR ($6), while other healthcare providers inside the country costed 150-300 QR ($41.2-$82.4). Conclusion: Autoimmune diseases, renal diseases and joist diseases were the most common diseases with low C3 and C4 levels. Although the cost of a single test of C3 or C4 is low, the total annual cost is huge. The treating physician is recommended to exercise judicious clinical wisdom when ordering C3 or C4 tests as diagnostic tools

This work presents a simple numerical model, based on a spreadsheet, to optimize solar panel tilt angle for given panel azimuth angle. This approach uses ASHRAE’s solar irradiation model, which presents a comprehensive model for calculating solar irradiation based on direct, reflected, diffuse and scattered components of solar irradiation. It includes the atmospheric extinction coefficient and sky clearness number (index). By calculating the monthly total irradiation from January to December the present model calculates the total annual irradiation on an incline solar panel. Then by implementing spreadsheet’s solver, the tilt angle to yield maximum annual solar irradiation per square area of panel is evaluated. Due to its general formulation the present model can be used to optimize solar tilt angle for any location (latitude) as long as the clearness index and ground reflectivity are known. The results of this model were compared with some existing location specific optimum tilt angles. The results are comparable within three degrees of tilt angle.

Since 1980, the Agency is responsible by law for the safe management of all radioactive waste produced in Belgium, including decommissioning wastes. By the law of 11 January 1991 and the implementing Royal Decree of 16/10/1991, ONDRAF/NIRAS has been entrusted with a mission concerning the decommissioning of nuclear facilities. This mission involves the collection and assessment of data concerning decommissioning forecasts for nuclear facilities, the approval of facilities’ decommissioning programmes, the establishment — in consultation with operators — of financing conditions for decommissioning, as well as the implementation of these programmes on request by the operator, or in the case of its failure to do so. This is the case for the company Best Medical Belgium SA located at Fleurus (MDS Nordion SA, till April 2011), which produced radioisotopes for medical applications and went bankrupt in 2012. These installations have been entrusted to ONDRAF/NIRAS. A plan of action was developed for taking-over the operations in the framework of remediation and decommissioning. Steps have been taken to integrate his new role as a nuclear operator. The installations of Best Medical Belgium SA are now referred to as the “O/N - Site Fleurus.” Nuclear facility operators, or any person requesting to operate a nuclear facility, are obliged to provide ONDRAF/NIRAS, under their responsibility and in due time, with all the necessary information concerning these facilities’ decommissioning forecasts, the nature, quantities and dates of transfer of the resulting waste, and the financing conditions for these facilities’ decommissioning. In order to make the necessary funds available for decommissioning a nuclear facility when it will be shut down, operators are obliged to establish provisions during the facility’s active life. These provisions are calculated in such a way that the total amount established at the time of the final shutdown covers all costs resulting from the facility’s final phase, namely the preparation of decommissioning, decontamination, more or less long-term maintenance, dismantling, treatment, conditioning and disposal of waste produced during this phase. In order to face to multiple and repeated evaluation processes, the Agency, already in the early 90’s, started with the implementation of its own integrated data processing system, recording the physical and radiological inventories of nuclear facilities, and allowing the evaluation of the quantities of decommissioning materials and wastes as well as of the decommissioning costs of these facilities. The cost evaluations cover all decommissioning activities from final shutdown of the facility until final release from nuclear control, as well as conventional demolition and site restoration if required. Beside the information related to the inventories, the database involves so called auxiliary tables integrating unit prices of the various decontamination and dismantling techniques, unit rates for radioactive waste processing, interim storage and final disposal.

Denne rapport præsenterer en række centrale resultater af et forskningsprojekt med fokus på daginstitutioners indsatser og betydning for pædagogisk personale, børn og familier under COVID-19 pandemien i Danmark. Forskningsprojektet har indsamlet data i perioden april 2020 til august 2020, og særligt i perioden fra midt april til juni, hvor alle landets daginstitutioner genåbnede efter cirka en måneds nedlukning af landets offentlige institutioner som følge af regeringens retningslinjer. Der er ligeledes indsamlet data i perioden august til oktober 2020, og igen i perioden januar til februar 2021. Der er således tale om tre empiriske nedslag hen over cirka et år af pandemiens forløb i relation til daginstitutionsledere og pædagogisk personale i landets daginstitutioner. De data, der ligger til grund for denne rapport, omfatter en spørgeskemaundersøgelse rettet mod daginstitutionsledere og en spørgeskemaundersøgelse rettet mod pædagogisk personale i daginstitutioner, geografisk fordelt over hele landet. Fælles for spørgeskemaundersøgelserne er et fokus på at udforske, hvordan daginstitutioner har arbejdet under COVID-19 pandemien, dels under selve nedlukningen i marts-april, hvor flere af landets daginstitutioner har fungeret som nødpasning, særligt for forældre med kritiske samfundsfunktioner, og dels under genåbningsfaserne, der officielt blev påbegyndt i midten af april og især har forløbet hen over forår og tidlig sommer 2020. Derudover er der ad to omgange foretaget en række forskningsinterview med daginstitutionsledere. I første omgang blev der foretaget 10 forskningsinterview i perioden august til november 2020, og i anden omgang er der foretaget 8 forskningsinterview med daginstitutionsledere fordelt på landets daginstitutioner omfattende perioden januar til februar 2021. Formålet med dette forskningsprojekt har været at kortlægge og udforske, hvordan daginstitutionsledere og pædagogisk personale i en række danske daginstitutioner for 0-6-årige børn løfter den store samfundsmæssige udfordring at håndtere COVID-19 pandemien på landets daginstitutioner.
