Abstract:
We consider a timelike sweeping surface with rotation minimizing frames in Minkowski 3-Space [Formula: see text]. We introduce a new geometric “invariant”, which demonstrates the geometric properties and local singularities of the surface. Subsequently, we give the sufficient and necessary conditions for this surface to be a developable ruled surface. Finally, the singularities of these ruled surfaces are investigated.

Abstract:
This paper studies a smooth one-parameter family of standard Lorentzian circles with fixed radius. Such a surface is called a timelike circular surface with constant radius. We call each circle a generating circle. A new type of timelike circular surfaces was identified and coined as the timelike tangent circular surface. The new timelike tangent circular surface has the property of all generating circles being lines of curvature and its Gaussian and mean curvatures being independent of the geodesic curvature of the spherical indicatrix.

Abstract:
A criterion was given for a timelike surface to be a Bonnet surface in 3-dimensional Minkowski space by Chen and Li, 1999. In this study, we obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for a timelike tangent developable surface to be a timelike Bonnet surface by the aid of this criterion. This is examined under the condition of the curvature and torsion of the base curve of the timelike developable surface being nonconstant. Moreover, we investigate the nontrivial isometry preserving the mean curvature for a timelike flat helicoidal surface by considering the curvature and torsion of the base

In this work, we focus on a class of timelike rotational surfaces in Minkowski space E41 with 2-dimensional axis. There are three types of rotational surfaces with 2-dimensional axis, called rotational surfaces of elliptic, hyperbolic or parabolic type. We obtain all flat timelike rotational surface of elliptic and hyperbolic types with pointwise 1-type Gauss map of the first and second kind. We also prove that there exists no flat timelike rotational surface of parabolic type in E41 with pointwise 1-type Gauss map.

Timelike ruled surfaces are studied in dual Lorentzian space [Formula: see text] by considering E. Study Mapping and Blaschke frame. A reference timelike ruled surface is considered and associated surfaces are defined. First, it is shown that the surface generated by the instantaneous screw axis (ISA) is a Mannheim offset of reference surface. Later, the kinematic interpretations between these surfaces are introduced by means of Blaschke invariants.

The trajectory of a robot end-effector is described by a ruled surface and a spin angle about the ruling of the ruled surface. In this way, the differential properties of motion of the end-effector are obtained from the well-known curvature theory of a ruled surface. The curvature theory of a ruled surface generated by a line fixed in the end-effector referred to as the tool line is used for more accurate motion of a robot end-effector. In the present paper, we first defined tool trihedron in which tool line is contained for timelike ruled surface with timelike ruling, and transition relations

Abstract:
We construct a 4d Lorentzian spin foam model capable of describing both spacelike and timelike surfaces. To do so we use a coherent state approach inspired by the Riemannian FK model. Using the coherent state method we reproduce the results of the EPRL model for Euclidean tetrahedra and extend the model to include Lorentzian tetrahedra. The coherent states of spacelike/timelike triangles are found to correspond to elements of the discrete/continuous series of SU(1,1). It is found that the area spectrum of both spacelike and timelike surfaces is quantized. A path integral for the quantum theory

Abstract:
This chapter addresses challenges that can surface for some same-sex binational couples in the United States. Vulnerable to both immigration enforcement and social institutions seeking to deny the validity of their relationship, same-sex binational couples may be at increased risk for emotional hardship, relationship instability, conflict, and dissolution. The ramifications of divorce in binational relationships may include jeopardizing the residency status or lengthening the naturalization timeline; separation from children if removed from the United States; and potential removal to a country where one or both members in the partnership may be exposed to sexual prejudice. The chapter discusses the unique challenges that increase the risk of binational same-sex relationships ending in dissolution or divorce, highlighting the limited research on LGBTQ dissolution or divorce and the need for further research on clinical and legal interventions that could enhance the well-being of same-sex binational couples during and after relationship dissolution or divorce.

Abstract:
This introduction starts off by situating the music of Steve Reich both in relation to popular culture (film, contemporary fiction, and popular music) and as the subject of serious musicological study. An overview of the ever-changing landscape of Reich scholarship is then provided—from formal analyses to approaches that seek to view the composer’s music through the prism of the “new musicology.” The introduction concludes by arguing that the gap between discourse and practice is sometimes extensive. Reich’s own reflections can at times obfuscate more complex realities that lie under the surface. In encompassing sketch studies, discourse analysis and reception history, hermeneutic investigations, intertextual studies, historical timelines and contexts, harmonic and formal analysis, philosophical and religious ruminations, and deep archival digging, this volume draws on a wide range of perspectives that contribute a wealth of knowledge and learning that complements Reich’s own writings.

Abstract:
Hydrometeorology aims at measuring and understanding the physics, chemistry, energy and water fluxes of the atmosphere, and their coupling with the earth surface environmental parameters. Accurate hydrometeorological records and observations with different timelines are crucial to assess climate evolution and weather forecast. Historical records suggest that the first hydrometeorological observations date back to ca 3500 BC. Reviewing these observations in the light of our modern knowledge of the dynamic of atmospheres is critical as it can reduce the ambiguities associated to understanding major fluctuations or evolutions in the earth climate. Today, the ambiguities in hydrometeorological observations have significantly improved due to the advances in monitoring, modeling, and forecasting of processes related to the land-atmosphere coupling and forcing. Numerical models have been developed to forecast hydrometeorological phenomena in short-, medium- and long-term horizons, ranging from hourly to annual timescales. We provide herein a synthetic review of advances in hydrometeorological observations from their infancy to today. In particular, we discuss the role of hydrometeorological records, observations, and modeling in assessing the amplitude and time-scale for climate change and global warming.

Due to current and future exhaust emissions regulations, oxidation catalysts are increasingly being added to the exhaust streams of large-bore, 2-stroke, natural gas engines. It is critical for users and catalyst developers to understand the nature and rate of catalyst deactivation under these circumstances.
