Abstract:
Abstract Tubular mixed metal oxide activated titanium anodes have been increasingly used in groundbeds during the last five years. These anodes are assembled onto a cable using a mechanically crimped cable-to-anode center connection and a proprietary mechanically crimped seal. The installation of these anodes into deep groundbeds is simplified as compared to more massive anodes based on their light weight, the flexibility of the anode cable, and the electrical connection of multiple anodes onto one cable. One project using these anodes is an 82 well casing cathodic protection installation in C

Abstract:
There is a variety of impressed current anode materials available for onshore applications, including High Silicon Cast Iron (HSCI), Mixed Metal Oxides (MMO), graphite, platinum (or platinum coated titanium), and conductive polymers. Many end users simply select the anode material that they have experience with. What is lacking is a clear, direct comparison of relative anode consumption rates conducted under identical conditions. The present study examined the behavior of the various anode types under different current loads and soil conditions in an effort to establish baseline consumption ra
