Find full textO objetivo do presente estudo foi analisar os aspectos ecológicos do Heteropsis spp. Kunth, cipó titica, em uma área submetida ao manejo florestal. O estudo foi conduzido na Floresta Nacional do Tapajós (FLONA do Tapajós), em duas Unidades de Trabalho (UTs 3 e 15), da Unidade de Produção Anual (UPA 11). Cada UT é dividida em quadras de 250 m x 250 m, sendo estas as unidades amostrais. Para o inventário das árvores hospedeiras de cipó titica foram percorridas 14 quadras na UT 3 (87,5 ha) e 19 quadras na UT 15 (118,75 ha). Os parâmetros registrados foram: diâmetro à 1,30 m do solo (DAP), altura total (Ht), qualidade de fuste (QF1 – reto, QF2 – levemente tortuoso, QF3 – tortuoso), nome regional e as coordenadas geográficas. Foram contabilizadas as raízes aéreas maduras e imaturas do cipó titica. As raízes maduras foram coletadas e mensurada a massa, em quilogramas, por hospedeira. Após o término da coleta, foi retirada a casca das raízes e aferida a massa, a fim de obter o rendimento da matéria prima. Foram contabilizadas todas as árvores hospedeiras e agrupadas de acordo com as suas famílias botânicas. Foi relacionada a densidade de árvores hospedeiras em diferentes centros de classes de DAP e Ht. A produção de cipó titica foi determinada pela contagem de raízes (maduras e imaturas) presente em cada hospedeira e pela massa das raízes maduras. Foi feita a relação do DAP e Ht das árvores hospedeiras de cipó titica com a massa das raízes maduras com casca, considerando 15 árvores de diferentes portes de diâmetro e altura, por classe de DAP e Ht , as quais foram classificadas em três classes de tamanho: pequeno (10 cm ≤ DAP < 40 cm e 5 m ≤ Ht < 15 m), médio (40 cm ≤ DAP < 70 cm e 15 m ≤ Ht < 25 m) e grande (DAP ≥ 70 cm e H ≥ 25 m). Foi avaliado quanto à diferença na quantidade de cipó titica, em quilogramas, em cada tipo de fuste. Utilizou-se a correlação de Pearson (r) para inferir sobre a variável da árvore hospedeira que mais influencia na produção de cipó titica, a fim de utilizá-la no ajuste de modelos matemáticos para estimar a produção. Foram ajustados cinco modelos matemáticos, com o auxílio do CurveExpert Professional versão 2.6.5, os critérios de escolha do melhor modelo foram: coeficiente de determinação ajustado em porcentagem (R²aj%), erro padrão em porcentagem (Sy.x%) e distribuição gráfica dos resíduos. A distribuição espacial do cipó titica foi feita com base na função K de Ripley, com o auxílio do R versão 3.1.2. Foram identificadas e mensuradas 337 árvores como hospedeiras de cipó titica, com densidade média de 1,65 árv.ha-1, distribuídas em 88 espécies, pertencentes a 35 famílias. Árvores com DAP < 30 cm são as que hospedam mais plantas de cipó titica (p-valor = 9,9488 x 10-8). E árvores com 10 m ≤ Ht < 15 m hospedam mais plantas de cipó titica, quando comparadas as árvores de Ht ≥ 25 m (p-valor = 0,0059). Árvores com maior DAP e Ht são as que apresentam maior quantidade de raízes de cipó titica. Não foi observado diferença na produção de raízes cipó titica maduras, expressa em quilogramas, nas diferentes categorias de qualidade de fuste (p valor = 0,160). Os indivíduos de cipó titica apresentaram 585 raízes.ha-1, levando a uma produção média de 2,1 kg.ha-1 de cipó titica com casca, após a perda de umidade e remoção da casca a produção declinou para 0,6 kg.ha-1. A densidade de árvores hospedeiras foi a variável que apresentou maior correlação de Pearson (r = 0,88). A equação linear simples foi a que apresentou melhores resultados para estimar a produção das raízes com casca, com R²aj% = 96,03, Sy.x% = 24,50 e a distribuição gráfica dos resíduos comportou-se de modo uniforme em torno dos eixos das abscissas. A distribuição espacial do cipó titica tende a ser agregada.

Full textTitoist Yugoslavia—the multiethnic state rising out of the chaos of World War II—is a particularly interesting setting to examine the integrity of the modern nation-state and, more specifically, the viability of a distinctly multi-ethnic nation-building project. Much scholarly literature has been devoted to the brutal civil wars that destroyed Yugoslavia during the 1990s with emphasizes on divisive nationalism and dysfunctional politics. But what held Tito’s state together for the preceding forty-six years? In an attempt to understand better what united the stable, multiethnic, and successful Yugoslavia that existed before 1991, this dissertation illuminates the pervasive problem of legitimacy within this larger history. Cast aside and threatened with removal by Stalin’s henchmen after the war, Tito made his revolution a genuine alternative to Soviet control. Because Tito and the ruling elite feared the loss of political power by either foreign aggression or from domestic groups challenging the Communist Party’s (LCY) claim to govern, they fought hard for the reform of Marxism. Furthermore, Yugoslav elites manipulated popular conceptions of a Yugoslav identity as a means to solidify their regime with a unifying and progressive identity. Citing elite perceptions of the Yugoslav system—including key aspects of central institutions such as the LCY and the military— this dissertation attempts to reconcile how leaders of a country that scholars have dismissed as full of national hatreds had constructed a functioning and popular system for so long

It is this dialogue between different historical moments that is intended to be studied by means of the novel I, Tituba... Black witch of Salem (1986), by the Antilean writer Maryse Condé, which dialogues with two other works by American authors, The Crucible (1953), by Arthur Miller and The Scarlet Letter (1850), by Nathaniel Hawthorne.

Full textBackground: Communication in the operating room (OR) is complex. Communication failures is the most reported cause of operative misstakes. Sound levels and operating masks are some factors that complicates the communication. Teamwork in the OR is necessary for patient safe care. The operating team consists of various professionals who are responsible for patient safety intraoperatively. The society’s requirement is that the operating room nurse must possess competence to protect patients from medical harm. The World Health Organization designed a checklist to improve patient safety in the OR. Aim: To investigate the operating room nurse's experience of intraoperative communication. Method: A qualitative interview study with semi-structured questions was conducted at two hospitals in southern Sweden. Seven interviews were held with surgical nurses which were recorded and transcribed. The data were analyzed according to Graneheim and Lundman's (2004) latent content analysis. Results: The result is presented under four themes. The theme The Importance of Communicating highlights that communication must continue throughout the surgery in order not to risk patient safety. The theme of Intraoperative Team Groupings describes that the operating team works in separate teams until the peroperative phase where they are a joint operation team. The professions are linked to each other, which gives great responsibility in communication. The theme The Leader’s Impact on Team Communication reveals that hierarchical leaders can cause a nervous mood and cause reduced patient safety. The surgeon is important for the use of WHO's checklist and its compliance. In the theme Different Expressions for Intraoperative Communication, different types of communication have an impact intraoperatively. Conclusion: The operating team is united by respect and shared responsibility. The quality of intraoperative communication depends on the responsibility of each team member and requires a long term plan for development from the management.

Full textRecently, titanium-dioxide (TiO2) has been extensively researched in the field of environmental protection due to its high photocatalytic efficiency in processes for water and air purification. Considering the high demands that are constantly set for photocatalysts in this field of research, such as activity, selectivity, stability, cost-effective and non-toxic, the need to develop photocatalysts with better characteristics is becoming increasingly evident as a priority for future research. The novel approach of this Ph.D. thesis is oriented towards the development of new complex systems on the basis of titanium-dioxide and layered double hydroxides, taking into account the hypothesis about their possible synergetic effect achieving high photocatalytic efficiency and obtaining better overall catalytic performances. ZnAl and NiAl layered double hydroxides have been chosen as the catalyst support of the active component (TiO2). In order to initiate the interaction between the active component and support, current synthesis methods have been modified. The novel materials were synthesized using four new different synthesis methods. Comparative investigation showed that the synthesis method, as well as the nature of the interaction between the active phase and the support can improve the overall photocatalytic performances of the composite materials when compared to the referent values obtained from ZnAl layered double hydroxides. Although the TiO2 amount is low in the novel complex systems, photocatalytic efficiency for the degradation of model pollutants is satisfactory due to improved accessibility to the active centres, as well as due to limitation of TiO2 agglomeration. It was confirmed that the synthesis method and conditions considerably affect the structural, textural and surface characteristics of the formed composites, resulting in significant differences in photocatalytic characteristics of the synthesized materials. Comparative research of photocatalytic efficiency in the chosen test reactions (methylene blue, rhodamine B, and methyl orange degradation) showed that the samples synthesized by the wet impregnation method in alkaline solution exhibited the best photocatalytic performance in the wide range of radiation that attributed to the formation of ZnO phase and ZnTiO4 detected by XRD, FTIR and XPS analysis. Also, the research on the antimicrobial activity showed that, although TiO2 has no inhibitory effect, the samples synthesized by the wet impregnation method in alkaline solution have the highest inhibitory effect on the growth of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, confirming the contribution of the synergic effect to the formation of active centres with high photocatalytic activity. The samples obtained by the coprecipitation method had lower, but satisfactory photocatalytic activity, while samples synthesized by the wet impregnation method in water solution showed the lowest photocatalytic activity, as well as low inhibitory effect on the bacteria growth. The research in this Ph.D. thesis contributed to the knowledge on the characteristics of novel composite materials TiO2/ZnAl layered hydroxides that are of essential importance concerning their photocatalytic activity in the wide range of radiation (UV / VIS), as well as their overall performance that enable their use in a variety of ecological processes, such purification of water and air pollution from organic, inorganic and biological pollutants.

Estudar comunidades tradicionais e o conhecimento transmitido no dia-a-dia por produtores rurais é uma tarefa que requer muito cuidado e atenção. Estes conhecimentos constituem o corpus e a práxis dos produtores rurais, acumulando-se e transformando-se com o passar do tempo, em práticas que vão passando de pai para filho, definindo regras de manejo e demais práticas nas comunidades locais. O presente estudo analisa a relevância que o conhecimento tradicional possui nas práticas de extração de cipó-titica, no manejo realizado há pelo menos cem anos nessa região. A pesquisa foi realizada a partir de entrevistas semi-estruturadas com agroextratores e extratores, localizados na Rodovia Perimetral Norte, entre os municípios de Porto Grande e Pedra Branca do Amapari (Amapá), bem como entrevistas com técnicos ligados à pesquisa de cipó-titica no Instituto de Pesquisas Científicas e Tecnológicas do estado do Amapá. Foi possível observar que existe uma tecnologia de manejo tradicional do cipó-titica, que tem sido repassada e socializada entre agroextratores e extratores de cipós nos últimos anos. Nessa atividade foi possível notar, também, uma diferença do manejo praticado entre agroextratores e extratores, uma vez que os agroextratores, além de selecionarem os tipos de cipós que coletam, observam também a periodicidade e sazonalidade da extração, bem como a quantidade de cipós coletados por árvore, havendo, ainda, uma forma não só adequada de coletar, mas uma interação entre o extrator e o meio onde ele vive. Mesmo assim, por questões de sobrevivência, tanto agroextratores como extratores, muitas vezes, não seguem o manejo tradicional desrespeitando, especialmente, as épocas de coletas. Essas práticas quando tradicionais contribuem para a manutenção das espécies de cipó-titica na região, bem como contribuem para a manutenção da floresta em pé. Por último, diante dos dados coletados, sugere-se a necessidade de políticas públicas que direcionem de melhor forma o manejo adequado de cipó-titica na região. Além disso, faz-se necessária uma discussão sobre a totalidade do sistema produtivo dos agroextratores, visando a melhora das suas condições de vida de modo ambientalmente responsável.

Full textStudiens syfte var att beskriva och analysera pedagogers samtal med barn vid måltidssituationer i förskolan. För att besvara studiens syfte gjordes videoobservationer av pedagoger och barn vid tre luncher och tre mellanmål. Materialet transkriberades i sin helhet och analyserades kvalitativt och kvantitativt. I uppsatsen behandlades det sociokulturella synsättet på lärande och behaviorismen samt internationell och nationell forskning som beskrev måltidssamtal utifrån olika synvinklar. Tillsammans användes detta som verktyg i analysen av de resultat som framkommit ur observationerna. Under de måltider som undersöktes identifierades sex kategorier av samtal: samtal som rör här och nu, samtal om saker som har hänt och ska hända i förskolan, samtal som har med tiden utanför förskolan att göra, samtal om känslor och empati, samtal som handlar om fantasier och samtal om ämnen som kan uppfattas som genanta. Ungefär 30 procent av samtalen startades av pedagogerna och resterande samtal initierades av barnen. När det gällde antal inlägg i samtalen stod pedagogerna för nästan hälften av inläggen. Som grupp initierade pojkarna fler samtal än flickorna, medan antal inlägg i samtalen dominerades av flickorna. Studien visade att alla barn bemöttes på ungefär samma sätt i samtalen med pedagogerna. Undersökningen visade även att de pedagoger som observerades tog tillvara på måltidssituationerna som ett forum för samtal.

Full textBakgrund: Personer med demens har ofta en bristande förmåga att kommunicera verbalt och uttrycker sig istället genom olika beteende. Det är av vikt att vårdpersonalen skapar ett nära samspel med vårdtagaren, för att om möjligt tolka och förstå vad de ger uttryck för. Syfte: Att belysa betydelsen av vårdpersonalens förhållningssätt vid omvårdnad av personer med demens. Metod: Allmän litteraturstudie baserad på tretton vetenskapliga artiklar. Resultat: Omvårdnaden av personer med demens påverkas av vilket förhållningssätt vårdpersonalen har. Förhållningssättet är beroende av flera olika faktorer, och ingen enskild faktor kan anses väga tyngre än någon annan. Det gemensamma för alla faktorer är att vårdpersonalen bör sträva efter att bekräfta vårdtagaren i omvårdnadssituationer. Förhållningssättet speglas av vilka värdegrunder och vilket synsätt människor har. Vårdpersonalen bör därför få tillfälle att kritiskt reflektera över sitt eget förhållningssätt. Demenssjuka personer utvecklar ett närmast totalt beroende av vårdpersonalen. Det är därför viktigt att vårdpersonalen inte bara har kunskap om vårdtagarens sjukdom, utan även ser den unika individen. Med goda kunskaper om vårdtagaren och dennes diagnos finns förutsättningarna för en individanpassad omvårdnad.

Full textSyftet med min undersökning är att jämföra hur svenska pedagoger arbetar med sång och musik på en förskola med barn som har svenska som modersmål respektive en förskola med barn som har ett annat modersmål än svenska. Jag observerade och intervjuade tre kvinnliga förskollärare från två olika förskolor. Resultatet visade att pedagogerna på de båda förskolorna arbetade mycket med det språkliga, men på olika sätt. Pedagogerna som arbetade med barn med ett annat modersmål än svenska hade mer språkliga mål och syften med sitt sång- och musikarbete och framhävde mer den språkliga förståelsen medan pedagogen som arbetade med barn som hade svenska som modersmål mer såg på vikten av att göra det lättare för barnen att minnas, samt på utvecklingen av det sociala, exempelvis samspel och gemenskap. Pedagogen som arbetade med barn som hade svenska som modersmål, gav barnen mer utrymme för samtal och frågor än vad pedagogerna på den andra förskolan gjorde och gav mer utrymme för båda könen. Jag hoppas att detta arbete bidrar till ny kunskap hos de som läser det, när det gäller vikten av att ha sång och musik som en del i förskolan för barnens utveckling, inte bara språkligt utan även motoriskt och socialt.
The aim with my research is to compare how Swedish pedagogues work with song and music at a preschool with children who have Swedish as their mother tongue, with a preschool with children who has another mother tongue than Swedish. I observed and interviewed three female nursery-school teachers from two different preschools. The result showed that the pedagogues at both preschools worked much with the language but in different ways. The pedagogues who worked with children having another mother tongue than Swedish had more linguistic aims with song and music and brought out the linguistic understanding, while the pedagogue who worked with children who had Swedish as their mother tongue brought out the importance of making it easier for children to remember, and the social development. The pedagogue who worked with children having Swedish as their mother tongue, gave the children more time for conversation and questions than the pedagogues at the other preschool and gave more time for both gender. I hope that this work will contribute to new knowledge for the persons who read it when it comes to the importance of having song and music as a part for children’s development in preschools. Not just for their linguistic development but also for their motor learning and social development

Full textSyftet med denna undersökning är att ta reda på vilka sätt två lärare använder sig av naturen som resurs i naturundervisningen. I litteraturgenomgången sätts olika teorier kring naturundervisning in i ett sammanhang och den för ämnet aktuella kursplanen presenteras. Den undersökning som gjorts och som legat till grund för den analytiska diskussionen, har varit förlagd i årskurs tre respektive årskurs tre-fyra på två olika skolor. Eleverna i de båda klasserna har svarat på frågeformulär. Även de aktuella lärarna har fått fylla i frågeformulär med liknande frågor. Genom undersökningen har vikten av att använda naturen som resurs i naturundervisningen blivit bekräftad. Resultatet visar att både lärare och elever ser en klar fördel i att vara utomhus då man talar om naturen, vilket går hand i hand med det teorin talar om i litteraturgenomgången.

Eftersom människor befinner sig till stor del av sin vakna tid på arbetsplatsen har denna blivit en viktig arena för hälsofrämjande arbete. Studier visar hur viktigt det är för företag att ha friska och hälsosamma medarbetare. Hälsa är en förutsättning för ett sunt arbetsliv. En god hälsa och välmående ökar prestationen och bör därmed betraktas som en resurs av arbetsgivare. Det har blivit alltmer vanligt att utforma policys kring hälsofrämjande arbete på arbetsplatser. Däremot saknas kunskap kring vilket värde arbetet har för chefer och medarbetare samt hur det praktiskt bedrivs. Syftet med vår uppsats är att undersöka hur chefer och medarbetare ser på hälsofrämjande arbete. Kvalitativa intervjuer genomfördes med två chefer och sex medarbetare i två olika organisationer. Intervjuerna spelades in på band varefter de transkriberades och tolkades. Resultatet delades in och analyserades utifrån sex olika teman; synen på hälsa och välmående, hälsofrämjande arbete, hälsosamt ledarskap, ansvar och delaktighet, arbetsmiljö samt hälsofrämjande värde. Resultatet visar att de hälsofrämjande insatser som genomförs främst berör den fysiska hälsan. Det framkommer dock, både ur ett chefs- och medarbetarperspektiv, att mer fokus bör läggas på att främja även den psykiska och sociala hälsan. En förutsättning för att lyckas i det hälsofrämjande arbetet är att det finns ett intresse och engagemang hos ledning och chefer då dessa i sin tur påverkar medarbetarna. För att medarbetare ska vara delaktiga i det hälsofrämjande arbetet krävs det att ledning och chefer föregår med gott exempel och själva deltar i arbetet. Det måste finnas en trovärdighet mellan ord och handling eftersom medarbetare inte gör som chefen säger, de gör som chefen gör. Arbetsplatsen kan erbjuda möjligheter och förutsättningar för att främja hälsan. Varje individ måste dock ta eget ansvar för sig själv och sin hälsa. Friska medarbetare resulterar i en mer lönsam organisation i form av ökad trivsel som i sin tur leder till en ökad prestation. Det är således ett win-win-tänkande som både organisation och individ drar fördel av. Den slutsats vi drar är att ett framgångsrikt hälsofrämjande arbete kräver intresse och delaktighet från samtliga berörda parter, organisation, arbetsplats (grupp), medarbetare (individ) och ledare.

Full textThe purpose of this study is to describe how Kurdish women reconstruct gender roles, norms and values in the field between the Kurdish culture and the Swedish society from an honour discourse view. With this purpose the study use discourse-analysis as method and theory with large and occasionally national discourses in focus. Empirical data in this study derives from earlier research and from six semi-structured interviews with Kurdish women. The women of this study participate freely independent of each-other and has been asked if they want to attend via acquaintances or at Kurdish forums in social media. Results are achieved by categorisation of the collected empirical data into four designed themes; to belong to the collective, possible identities for women, violence capital in the Kurdish culture and for the nation. The study´s theory and method consists of a discourse analysis inspired by Foucault with the concepts of identity, subject position and power in focus as well as Bourdieu´s theory of symbolic capital. The introduction of the study elucidates the background of Kurdistan and a perspective on the structure of the Kurdish society. The theoretical perspective is context-dependent and consist of an honour-discourse that exists on a national level as well as on the communal level in the Kurdish society. International research shed light on patriarchal societies with focus on with gender-roles; violence norms and honour-culture. The national research accent intersectional perspectives regarding power, class and to some extent ethnicity. Results show that women are objects, violence is a norm and building of a nation are important principles within the Kurdish culture. The study also problematizes to some extent the influence of Islam on Kurdish culture and that the absence of their own country is of importance. In the concluding discussion it is observed that Sweden and the Swedes substantially lack cultural-competence which could be an important tool for society-development in the future when several different cultures need to be joined together in the same social community. It is also concluded that more knowledge about cultural differences in regards to norms and values is necessary which reasonably should be more studied as Swedish authorities needs to understand how future work against honour-related violence and oppression should be conducted as well as how activities that promotes equality should be organised.

Full textThe prevailing notion about natural-science in preschool often involves that a teacher should show, lift and highlight children’s questions for thereby become a natural part in the everyday activity. The intention with this study was to illustrate the didactic opportunities which are available in the unplanned time outdoors in preschool, and to increase understanding of how the processes of interaction between teachers and children can affect learning and knowledge in the subject of natural science. By using observations of teachers in preschool, I have compared whether there is any difference between days out in the woods or in the preschool yard during unplanned activity time. I also conducted interviews to find out how teachers can use the spontaneous experience and discoveries children make to learn about natural science. The results show that teachers in preschool take the opportunities that occur in the unplanned time to learning and to give knowledge of nature. Even clearer is the result at activities in the forest where the whole environment become a source of inspiration and when no play equipment attracts the children's attention with their presence.
