Abstract:

Following the floods of November 2014, several southern regions of Morocco have experienced major losses and damage in particular materials.Among these areas we find the ancient city of Tiznit that lost several of its earth constructions.The particularity of this Medina is the ranking of its built heritage as a national heritage and this since 1932. Given the extent of damage caused by the rains on the Medina, an intervention is necessary in order to preserve what remains of the Earth Heritage. It is in this context that fits this work and which aims to make a technical diagnosis on the state of Medina in order to present an action plan which aims primarily the restoration of this wealth, and therefore the preservation of heritage buildings.

Abstract:

Quality control and traceability of Argan oil requires precise chemical characterization considering different provenances. The fatty acid profile is an essential parameter that certifies the quality and purity of Argan oil. In addition, stable isotopes were recently shown to be accurate as an indicator for geographical origin. In this study, fatty acid composition by gas chromatography (GC) and stable isotope ratio by isotope ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS) were investigated for classifying Argan oil according to its geographical origin. Forty-one Argan oil samples, belonging to six geographical origins of Moroccan natural Argan population (Safi, Essaouira, Agadir Ida Outanane, Taroudant, Tiznit and Sidi Ifni) were collected and extracted under the same conditions. The results show that the isotope δ13C, palmitic acid (C16:0), linoleic acid (C18:2) and unsaturated fatty acids (UFA) were strongly influenced by ecological parameters. Linear discriminant analysis (LDA) was performed to discriminate the six studied provenances. Discriminant models predicted the origin of Argan oil with 92.70% success. Samples from Safi, Essaouira and Agadir Ida Outanane presented the highest classification rate (100%). In contrast, the lowest rate was reported for samples from Tiznit (85.70%). The findings obtained for fatty acids and isotope combination might be considered as an accurate tool for determining the geographical origins of Argan oil. Moreover, they can potentially be used as specific markers for oils labeled with Protected Geographical Indication (PGI).

Abstract:

The Tiznit region has an arid to semi-arid climate. Rainfall is scarce and the reuse of wastewater for crop irrigation is common, and consequently groundwater can be contaminated by chemical and biological pollutants. A wastewater treatment plant is constructed with the aim of producing water suitable for reuse in agriculture and reducing groundwater pollution. The aim of this study is to assess the impact of factors that may influence groundwater quality, namely wastewater reuse and fertilizer use in the region. Groundwater was collected monthly over 1 year from five shallow wells (P1–P5) and analysed for a range of physicochemical and microbiological parameters. Concentrations frequently exceeded the WHO standards for potable water. The average concentration of nitrate was 98 mg/L. Conductivity varied from 1,930 to 2,500 μS/cm over four of the wells but was 11,703 in P3, which was close to the treatment plant. Bacteriological contamination was also found, with total coliforms varying from 0 at P1 to 9,000 cfu/100 mL at P4 and fecal coliforms (FC) 0 in P1, P2, P3 and P5 but up to 250 FC/100 mL at P4. Fecal streptococci (FS) varied from 0 to 3,500 FS/100 mL at P4. These values widely exceeded the limit for bacteria in water (0 units/100 mL).

Abstract:

Being a caregiver offers a sense of usefulness and satisfaction. Similarly, this caregiving function hurts all areas of the caregiver's life. In this vein, we believe that approaching this topic based on the sequential approach is of great importance. Indeed, we will first present the life-course approach as a method for analysing longitudinal quantitative data while highlighting the different stages of sequence analysis as an appropriate analysis method. We will then discuss the importance of studying the life trajectories of caregivers as units of research in the life course approach. The empirical demonstration of this paper originates from doctoral research in sociology on the life course of informal caregivers in the province of Tiznit in Morocco. Through this demonstration, we have crossed quantitative and qualitative analyses of life courses. This work will also show the relevance of sequence analysis and its adaptation to the life course approach of caregivers.

Abstract:

Recent molecular phylogenies of the Acanthodactylus pardalis species-group have revealed a deep genetic divergence within the nominal species A. busacki from north-west Africa. The species is phylogenetically separated into northern and southern lineages, which correspond to a previously observed morphological differentiation between the northern and southern populations of this species. Based on morphological comparisons of the type material and location of the type locality, the nomen Acanthodactylus busacki Salvador, 1982 is assigned here to the southern lineage, known from the northern Saharan Atlantic coastal desert. The northern lineage, described here as Acanthodactylus margaritae sp. nov., is prominently characterized by weakly keeled dorsal scales and a characteristic colour pattern. The new species is endemic to Morocco and confined to arid and semi-arid bioclimatic areas between the High Atlas and Anti-Atlas Mountains, from around Tamri in the north to Tiznit in the south and the Souss valley in the east.

Une étude sur les parasitoses intestinales a été réalisée au niveau des provinces de Taounate, Béni Meilal et Tiznit [Maroc]. Elle a porté sur un échantillon de 1682 personnes, représentatif des deux milieux urbain et rural. Pour chaque prélèvement de selles, trois examens directs entre lame et lamelle ont été pratiqués ainsi qu’un examen selon la technique qualitative de Kato. Cette étude a montré qu’environ deux tiers des habitants du milieu rural des trois provinces sont parasités, alors qu’en milieu urbain environ une personne sur deux l’est. La similitude dans les trots provinces est en faveur de la généralisation des résultats trouvés au reste des provinces du pays. Parmi les groupes de parasites trouvés, le groupe des amibes vient en tète, suivi des flagellés puis des helminthes. Quant aux espèces pathogènes, c’est Entamoeba histolytîca dans le groupe des amibes qui a été le plus fréquemment rencontré. Tous les cas positifs ont été traités par le médicament spécifique

Abstract:

The consumption of water that does not meet the bacteriological and physico-chemical quality standards defined by national and international regulations could be the cause of various diseases and health problems The objective of this study is to study the blood balance of people consuming water stored in traditional reservoirs "matfia». The study was carried out on 30 patients hospitalized in the medical unit at Tiznit hospital coming from rural areas and who confirmed the consumption of water from "Matfia". According to the results, the patients were hospitalized for gastrology,diabetes, cardiorespiratory and dermatological problems. The study of blood tests performed for patients during their stay in the medical unit shows hemoglobin is lower than normal in 30% of women and 60% of men. For the renal check-up, uremia is above normal in 45% of cases and creatinemia in 30% of women and 50% of men. For kalemia (potassium) and natraemia (sodium) they are normal. As for the hepatic check, In 30% of cases the values of the transaminases ALAT & ASAT are higher than the norm. Through these results, the people who consume the water of the "matfia" show the same affections and disturbances found in case of consumption of polluted water (biological and/or chemical pollution).

Abstract:

Abstract The striped ground squirrel has a wide distribution in the Ethiopian region but is restricted to a small isolated area in Palaearctic Africa. This fragment was first recorded in the late 1940s in the Souss Valley (Morocco), however, not a single new observation has been published in the following decades. In September 2016 we surveyed the Souss Valley and found squirrels at 43 sites within the triangle between Agadir–Taroudant–Tiznit. Occupied sites were not distributed at random but occurred between an altitude of 45–254 m and on a substrate with coarse texture containing >65% sand. The vast majority of the sites with squirrels (69%) were classified as suburban, cultivated or both. Habitat suitability was estimated by applying geographically weighted logistic regression analysis. The influence of local predictor variables varied across the study area indicating the heterogeneous effects on the determination of the occurrence of the species. The modelled highly suitable habitat area for the striped ground squirrel in Morocco covers almost 690 km2 and only marginally overlaps the range for the species reported in the literature.

In November 2014, the central and southern Morocco have experienced extreme rainfall reached 287 mm and exceeded 240 mm on the last ten days of that same month .In Agadir city the annual average precipitations is 236 mm. Through reading and analysis of a long chain of Agadir station climate data (100 years), it becomes clear that the exceptional rainfall, which resulted in catastrophic damage with colossal human as well as material losses, is by no means an isolated case. In fact, the region had experienced similar or greater amounts of rainfall before. If Agadir was not significantly damaged by the floods on 28 November 2014, compared to the nearby towns such as Ait Melloul, Tiznit and Sidi Ifni, it is because of the preventive measures taken to protect the city against such hazards, especially after the floods that the city of Agadir witnessed in December 2010. Abstract:

In this work, fatty-acid profiles, including trans fatty acids, in combination with chemometric tools, were applied as a determinant of purity (i.e., adulteration) and provenance (i.e., geographical origin) of cosmetic grade argan oil collected from different regions of Morocco in 2017. The fatty acid profiles obtained by gas chromatography (GC) showed that oleic acid (C18:1) is the most abundant fatty acid, followed by linoleic acid (C18:2) and palmitic acid (C16:0). The content of trans-oleic and trans-linoleic isomers was between 0.02% and 0.03%, while trans-linolenic isomers were between 0.06% and 0.09%. Discriminant analysis (DA) and orthogonal projection to latent structure—discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) were performed to discriminate between argan oils from Essaouira, Taroudant, Tiznit, Chtouka-Aït Baha and Sidi Ifni. The correct classification rate was highest for argan oil from the Chtouka-Aït Baha province (90.0%) and the lowest for oils from the Sidi Ifni province (14.3%), with an overall correct classification rate of 51.6%. Pairwise comparison using OPLS-DA could predictably differentiate (≥0.92) between the geographical regions with the levels of stearic (C18:0) and arachidic (C20:0) fatty acids accounting for most of the variance. This study shows the feasibility of implementing authenticity criteria for argan oils by including limit values for trans-fatty acids and the ability to discern provenance using fatty acid profiling.

Tizenöt pánikbeteg agorafóbiával, tizenöt generalizált szorongó és tizenöt kontrollszemély téri tanulási és emlékezeti teljesítményét vizsgáltuk valós labirintustájékozódási, valamint komputer által létrehozott virtuális téri tájékozódási feladatban. Eredményeink szerint a pániktól és agorafóbiától szenvedő személyek a generalizált szorongókhoz és a kontrollszemélyekhez viszonyítva labirintusséta által kiváltott stresszhelyzetet követően gyengébb teljesítményt mutattak téri tanulási feladatokban. A labirintusban való tájékozódási feladatot követően a pániktól és agorafóbiától szenvedő betegek gyakrabban vétették el a laboratóriumból kivezető útvonalat, és pontatlan térképet rajzoltak a bejárt labirintus szerkezetéről. Nem használták hatékonyan az allocentrikus referenciákhoz kötődő disztális tájékozódási pontokat. Ugyanakkor a labirintus stressze után a virtuális téri tájékozódási feladatban is rosszabbul teljesítettek, annak ellenére, hogy a labirintus bejárása előtt végzett vizsgálatban nem mutatkozott különbség a csoportok között. Az eredményeket a Figyelemáthelyezés-, valamint a Stressz indukálta felidézés modell alapján értelmeztük.

Abstract:

The giant Tizert copper deposit is considered as the largest copper resource in the western Anti-Atlas (Morocco). The site is characterized by Cu mineralization carried by malachite, chalcocite, covellite, bornite and chalcopyrite; azurite is not observed. The host rocks are mainly limestones (Formation of Tamjout Dolomite) and sandstones/siltstones (Basal Series) of the Ediacaran/Cambrian transition. The supergene enrichment is most likely related to episodes of uplift/doming (last event since 30 Ma), which triggered the exhumation of primary/hypogene mineralization (chalcopyrite, pyrite, galena, chalcocite I and bornite I), generating their oxidation and the precipitation of secondary/supergene sulfides, carbonates and Fe-oxyhydroxides. The Tizert supergene deposit mainly consists of (i) a residual patchwork of laterite rich in Fe-oxyhydroxides; (ii) a saprolite rich in malachite, or “green oxide zone” where primary structures such as stratification are preserved; (iii) a cementation zone containing secondary sulfides (covellite, chalcocite II and bornite II). The abundance of Cu carbonates results from the rapid neutralization of acidic meteoric fluids, due to oxidation of primary sulfides, by carbonate host rocks. Chlorite is also involved in the neutralization processes in the sandstones/siltstones of the Basal Series, in which supergene clays, such as kaolinite and smectites, subsequently precipitated. At Tizert, as can be highlighted in other supergene Cu-deposits around the world, azurite is absent due to low pCO2 and relatively high pH conditions. In addition to copper, Ag enrichment is also observed in weathered rocks; Fe-oxyhydroxides contain high Zn, As, and Pb contents. Abstract:

This paper analyzes the thought of Tayyib Tizini, a Syrian nationalist philosopher, on archeology of knowledge of the plurality of the Qur’anic interpretations. Tizini is very keen to voice the plurality of Qur’anic interpretations along with the strong apparent of the coercion movement and the domination of a particular interpretation of religious texts. By using descriptive-analytic method with a philosophical-rationalistic approach, this paper concludes that the text of the Qur’an and the empirical reality of an internalized society (al-wad‘iyah al-mujtama‘ al-mushakhkhas}) have an open structure that allows plurality of interpretations in accordance with the needs of humanity. Through Ti>zi>ni>’s archeological analysis, it is found two occurred channels in the activity of understanding the Qur’an. The first channel is limited by cognitive aspects which are also limited by the level of knowledge of the person who perceives it. The second channel presents itself in ideology which is related to material interests, political streams and ambitions, social conflicts, groups, classes, countries, nations and so on. These two channels are the two things that impose, both clandestinely and openly the process of, the emergence of a plurality of the Qur’anic interpretations.

ABSTRACTTi-based quasicrystals are well known to store a high capacity of hydrogen exceeding the density of liquid hydrogen. This fact is due to that TiZrNi contain a large number of tetrahedral sites formed with Ti and Zr atoms that are chemical affinity with hydrogen. TiZrNi quasicrystal absorbs hydrogen up to host metal ratio (H/M) value near to 2.0. The disadvantage is due to the low equilibrium pressure. To solve this problem, we substituted Ti with a small amount of vanadium (V), with the nominal composition Ti45−x VxZr38Ni17 (x = 5, 10, 15) and synthesized by mechanical alloying. The subsequent annealing in vacuum conditions converted the amorphous into an icosahedral quasicrystal (I-phase) with face-centered cubic (FCC) Ti2Ni-type crystal. As the results, we investigated the discharge capacity for both amorphous and quasicrystal electrodes using three electrodes system (working, reference and counter electrodes) at room temperature. The highest discharge capacities obtained were 81.45 mAh/g recorded for amorphous electrode and 318.4 mAh/g for quasicrystal whose compositions is Ti35V10Zr38Ni17 at discharge current density of 15 mA/g. X-ray diffraction measurement was performed to provide the structural information on materials before and after hydrogenation. Microstructures of the materials were studied using an electron scanning microscope and the chemical compositions were confirmed using an EDX-analysis.

Ti-Zr-Ni icosahedral quasicrystals (IQCs) have been regarding as potential hydrogen storage materials due to their high hydrogen ability. Nevertheless, their hydrogen capacities are largely different as reported by different researchers, which is toughly understood.We investigated in this paper deuterium absorption at room temperature for quasicrystalline alloys Ti45Zr38Ni17, Ti41.5Zr41.5Ni17, Ti40Zr40Ni20 with corresponding phase structures of IQC+β(Ti,Zr), IQC+C14(TiZrNi), IQC. The results indicated the same solid solution state for the deuterium in these alloys, whose deuterium concentration was 12~13mmol/g. Given that all these alloys are in a single IQC phase, we believe very similar deuterium capacities for them, which surely needs more strict experimental evidence.

In the reconstruction of hand flexor tendon injuries it is fundamental to select the best suture technique, which makes possible early, active postoperative mobilization and achievement of the best results. The author reviews the development of suture techniques of the flexor tendon injuries during the last fifteen years, and discusses experimental tendon reconstruction results as well as clinical outcomes. The author describes the importance of different tendon suture materials, the significance of the pulley system of the fingers, the stretching between the sutured tendon ends by tendon sutures and, finally, the importance of the moving course in the reconstructed tendon. <p>Aphids are among the phytophagous pests that cause serious damage to crop plants. In Northern Algeria, we have little information on their diversity. In this context, the study of the diversity of aphids was carried out in three regions of Tizi-Ouzou (North of Algeria) namely Tizi-Ouzou center, Tizi-Rached and Aghribs on the potato crop using yellow traps. The results showed a total richness of 65 aphid species, divided into 36 genera, 9 tribes and 8 sub-families, of which 11 species were identified for the first time in Algeria. These are <em>Aphis coreopsidis</em> (Thomas, 1878), <em>Capitophorus hippophae</em> (Walker, 1852), <em>Cavariella theobaldi </em>(Gillette & Bragg, 1918), <em>Hyadaphis coriandri </em>(B. Das, 1918), <em>Macrosiphoniella linariae </em>(Koch, 1855),<em>Monelliopsis pecanis </em>Bissell, 1983, <em>Myzus hemerocallis</em> Takahashi, 1921, <em>Pseudoregma panicola </em>(Takahashi, 1921), <em>Rhopalosiphoninus staphyleae</em> (Koch, 1854), <em>Schizaphis eastopi</em> Van Harten & Ilharco, 1971 and <em>Ovatus inulae </em>(Walker, 1849)<em>. </em>The field located in the center of Tizi-Ouzou is the richest with 55 species, followed by the field of Tizi-Rached with 30 species, and 24 species have been recorded in Aghribs. During the sampling season, <em>Hyperomyzus lactucae</em> (Linnaeus, 1758) and <em>Brachycaudus helichrysi</em> (Kaltenbach, 1843) are the most abundant species with 24.44 % and 21.8 % respectively. Three aphid species have been observed on potato leaves, namely <em>Macrosiphum</em> <em>euphorbiae</em> (Thomas, 1878), <em>Aphis</em> <em>gossypii</em> Glover, 1877 and <em>Myzus persicae</em> (Sulzer, 1776). The latter species was observed in all three study regions.</p>

This study aimed to evaluate phosphorus (P) acquisition and use efficiency in bean cultivars of the “Carioca” and “Preto” commercial groups in nutrient solution. Six cultivars of the “Carioca” group (“Pérola,” “IPR Siriri,” “IPR Eldorado,” “BAT 477,” “Campeão 2,” and “Aporé”) and 7 cultivars of the “Preto” group (“IPR,” “Uirapuru,” “IPR Graúna,” “IPR Tiziu,” “IPR Tuiuiú,” “FT Soberano,” “BRS Esplendor,” and “BRS Supremo”) were evaluated at 2 levels of phosphorus (6.25 and 25.02 μM L-1). The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse and arranged in a completely randomized factorial design with 6 replicates, and the dry weights of the shoots (fractioned into the dry weights of the stems, leaves, pods, and beans) and roots were evaluated at physiological maturity. Phosphorous content was determined in these vegetative structures using an atomic emission spectrophotometer, and indices of P absorption, translocation and use efficiency were then quantified. Statistically significant diferences were observed in all P absorption and use efficiency indices for the “Preto” group cultivars whereas in the “Carioca” group, only the P absorption and translocation indices showed significant differences. The “IPR Eldorado” and “IPR Graúna” cultivars stood out for P absorption and translocation efficiency while the “IPR Uirapuru” and “IPR Tiziu” cultivars stood out for P use efficiency. These cultivars have the potential for use in future bean genetic improvement programs aimed at reducing phosphate fertilizer use and production costs.
