Abstract:
The intercept as the coefficient of algebraic relationship between standard length (SL) and total length (TL), the two predominantly used linear dimensions of fin fish species, was referred to growth pattern deduction for rainbow sardine Dussumieriaacuta population in the Bay of Bengal. Monthly rainbow sardine samples were collected from the industrial fishing vessel in the Bay of Bengal over a period of a calendar year. The length-length relationship was formed algebraically as y=a+ bx. Linear relationship between SL and TL for male, female and unsexed populations was constructed separately.

The study was designed to work on the determination of growth pattern of lesser spiny eel Macrognathus aculeatus (Bloch, 1786) evaluating length-length relationships. Lesser spiny eel is a small indigenous fish species collected monthly for a year from Dingaputa haor located at Mohanganj upazila of Netrokona district in Bangladesh. The standard length and total length of male ranged from 93 to 203 mm and from 101 to 214 mm, respectively. The standard length and total length of female ranged from 105 to 243 mm and from 108 to 256 mm respectively. The length-length relationship is described alge

Diet analysis revealed that Apocryptes bato is a carnivorous fish. It depends on shrimps and non-shrimp crustaceans mainly. Shrimps include Acetes, penaeid and metapenaeid juveniles, whereas non-shrimp crustaceans include copepods, crab larvae, mysids and amphipods predominantly. The total body lengths (TL) varied between 11.20 and 22.20 cm and weight 16.70 to 43.50 g in male fish. The form of the equation for TL and weight relationship was W = 0.44TL2.57 and for standard length (SL) it was W = 1.009SL2.66. Condition factor (K) ranged from 0.87 to 1.23. Abstract The aim of the current study was to determine the length-weight relationship (LWR) and length-length relationship (LLR) with condition factor (K) values for Oxynoemacheilus angorae from the Perşembe Plateau meandering streams in Ordu, Turkey. A total of 65 fish specimens, which were caught with electrofishing gear, were examined. Fish standard length (SL), fork length (FL), total length (TL), and body weight (W) were determined. Total length and standard length (mm) were compared to weight (mg) in the Emerald Shiner (Notropis atherinoides - Rafinesque, 1818) in the western basin of Lake Erie. Length and weight relationship (n = 400), length-frequency distribution, and sex ratios were evaluated for coastal and tributary habitats and compared to open water habitats. A strong positive correlation was observed between length and weight for both males and females. For males (n = 195) there was a significant positive relationship between standard length (SL) and weight (F = 935.64, d.f = 195; R2 = 0.989) and between total l
