Abstract In multiphase wet gas systems with stratified flow, condensation of water and/or hydrocarbon occurs at the top of the line because of a temperature gradient between the internal and external environments of the pipeline. Acidic gases such as carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, and even organic acids may be present in such systems, and they cause a reduction of pH because of their dissolution in the condensed water. In the absence of any buffering agents, this condensed water can cause significant corrosion between the 10 o’clock to 2 o’clock positions, and this deterioration is formally

This paper studies the generic architecture and coordination mechanism of an FIPA (Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents) compliant heterogeneous multi-agent system (MAS) in a distributed control scenario. Proposed generic MAS framework has been applied to a real-time traffic detection and management system. The agent-based real-time traffic detection and management system (ABRTTDMS) is designed for the information fusion of different traffic detection systems on highways to optimize real-time traffic detection and management. ABRTTDMS is a multi-level agent system. The lowest level agent

Traffic Incident Management (TIM) is a FHWA Every Day Counts initiative with the objective of reducing secondary crashes, improving travel reliability, and ensuring the safety of responders. Agency roadside cameras play a critical role in TIM by helping dispatchers quickly identify the precise location of incidents when receiving reports from motorists with varying levels of spatial accuracy. Reconciling position reports that are often mile-marker based with cameras that operate in a Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) coordinate system relies on dispatchers having detailed knowledge of hundreds of cameras an

Rationale: Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (TMP-SMX) is a first-line Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PJP) prophylaxis agent, but intravenous pentamidine (IVP) every 4 weeks (Q4W) is commonly used in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-uninfected immunocompromised hosts because IVP is not associated with cytopenia and delayed engraftment. Overview This is the third quarterly progress report for an ongoing living systematic review on cannabis and other plant-based treatments for chronic pain. The first progress report was published in January 2021 and the second in March 2021. The draft systematic review was available for public comment from May 19 through June 15, 2021, on the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Effective Health Care website. The systematic review synthesizes evidence on the benefits and harms of plant-based compounds (PBCs), such as cannabinoids and kratom, used to treat chronic pain, addressing

Recife is a prominent front-runner for climate policymaking in Brazil, having formulated robust plans and strategies at the city scale. The next step is to overcome the gap between strategic planning and local action at the neighbourhood scale. Historically, urban development in Recife has been marked by social inequalities. To ensure social inclusion and justice in climate action, it is critical to open up governance structures to include bottom-up, community-based approaches and incentivize co-production of urban space between governmental and non-governmental actors. These issues contribute to, and are worsened by, climate change. Climate governance in León began to materialize in the early 2010s, largely emulating the state’s legal and institutional framework. It has since progressed incrementally with each municipal administration. Nevertheless, mainstreaming of the
