Abstract:
<p>Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is the most popular signaling protocol using in order to establish, modify and terminate the session multimedia between different participants. It was selected by the Third Generation Project Partnership (3GPP) as a multimedia application protocol in 3G mobile networks. SIP is the protocol currently used for signaling ToIP calls. The security of SIP is becoming more and more important. Authentication is the most important security service required by SIP. To ensure a secured communication, many SIP authentication protocols have been proposed. This work provides an overview of the proposed schemes based on elliptic curve cryptography. Those proposed schemes are analyzed in security consideration and the computational cost.</p>

Abstract:
Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is an application layer protocol designed to control and establish multimedia sessions over internet. SIP gaining more and more popularity as it is used by numerous applications such as telephony over IP(ToIP). SIP is a text based protocol built on the base of the HTTP and SMTP protocols. SIP suffers from certain security threats which need to be resolved in order to make it a more efficient signaling protocol. In this work, we review the proposed works aimed to detect SIP malformed messages that can cause security problem. Then, we classify the type of malformed SIP message and compare between the mechanisms used to reinforce the detection of malformed SIP message attack.

Abstract:
Guided by computational analysis, herein we report the design, synthesis and evaluation of four novel diazine-based histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDACis). The targets of interest (TOI) are analogues of panobinostat, one of the most potent and versatile HDACi reported. By simply replacing the phenyl core of panobinostat with that of a diazine derivative, docking studies against HDAC2 and HDAC8 revealed that the four analogues exhibit inhibition activities comparable to that of panobinostat. Multistep syntheses afforded the visualized targets TOI1, TOI2, TOI3-rev and TOI4 whose biological evaluation confirmed the strength of HDAC8 inhibition with TOI4 displaying the greatest efficacy at varying concentrations. The results of this study lay the foundation for future design strategies toward more potent HDACis for HDAC8 isozymes and further therapeutic applications for neuroblastoma.

Abstract:
Addressing current generative concerns over the Left Periphery of clause structure, this paper proposes a categorial distinction, based on the choice of value for the feature [±FINITE], between two functional heads, C° and Top°, which project into CP and TopP, respectively. The choice is responsible for a principled distinction between structural (TopP) and rhetorical (CP) topicalization. Primary data are Det-clefts, Hv-clefts and so-called sikke-expressions in Danish. The latter are peripheral to the core of Danish grammar, but are nevertheless – or perhaps therefore – a mine of evidence for the distinction argued for. Criterial evidence is a conjunction of three diagnostics: lack of V2 word order, so-called ‘pleonastic’ complementizers and the syntactic behaviour of expletive der. It is argued that normal (left) movement principles cannot account for the sharing of information between the Specifier and the Complement of Top°. Instead, two possibilities for interpretation are tentatively explored, involving various kinds of Right Periphery phenomena. Since the Specifier and the Complement of Top° each provides the structural basis for independent, clause-like utterances, TopPs are seen as clear cases of BREAKSTRUCTURES.

Journal of Applied Physiology 113, no. 5 (September 1, 2012): 736–45. http://dx.doi.org/10.1152/japplphysiol.01253.2011.

Abstract:
Exercise tolerance is impaired in hypoxia, and it has recently been shown that dietary nitrate supplementation can reduce the oxygen (O2) cost of muscle contractions. Therefore, we investigated the effect of dietary nitrate supplementation on arterial, muscle, and cerebral oxygenation status, symptoms of acute mountain sickness (AMS), and exercise tolerance at simulated 5,000 m altitude. Fifteen young, healthy volunteers participated in three experimental sessions according to a crossover study design. From 6 days prior to each session, subjects received either beetroot (BR) juice delivering 0.07 mmol nitrate/kg body wt/day or a control drink (CON). One session was in normoxia with CON (NORCON); the two other sessions were in hypoxia (11% O2), with either CON (HYPCON) or BR (HYPBR). Subjects first cycled for 20 min at 45% of peak O2 consumption (VO2peak; EX45%) and thereafter, performed a maximal incremental exercise test (EXmax). Whole-body VO2, arterial O2 saturation (%SpO2) via pulsoximetry, and tissue oxygenation index of both muscle (TOIM) and cerebral (TOIC) tissue by near-infrared spectroscopy were measured. Hypoxia per se substantially reduced VO2peak, %SpO2, TOIM, and TOIC (NORCON vs. HYPCON, P < 0.05). Compared with HYPCON, VO2 at rest and during EX45% was lower in HYPBR ( P < 0.05), whereas %SpO2 was higher ( P < 0.05). TOIM was ∼4-5% higher in HYPBR than in HYPCON both at rest and during EX45% and EXmax ( P < 0.05). TOIC as well as the incidence of AMS symptoms were similar between HYPCON and HYPBR at any time. Hypoxia reduced time to exhaustion in EXmax by 36% ( P < 0.05), but this ergolytic effect was partly negated by BR (+5%, P < 0.05). Short-term dietary nitrate supplementation improves arterial and muscle oxygenation status but not cerebral oxygenation status during exercise in severe hypoxia. This is associated with improved exercise tolerance against the background of a similar incidence of AMS.

Hörlin, Sara. "ToIP functionality in Asterisk." Thesis, Linköping University, Department of Computer and Information Science, 2007. http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:liu:diva-9761.

Full text
Abstract:

In the thesis the advantages with Text over IP (ToIP) is explained and it is motivated why it is a good idea to integrate this in Asterisk. It also presents an implementation of a ToIP extension in Asterisk.

ToIP means communicating over a network based on Internet protocols with real-time text. Real-time text means a character is sent to the receiving terminal as soon the sender has typed it or with a small delay.

In the thesis IM and ToIP is compared in a survey. The result point at IM is not better than ToIP even though it is much more commonly used. VoIP can not replace ToIP either because there are occasions when ToIP is better for instance if the person using it is deaf or if a person want to make a private conversation in a noisy room.

Asterisk is an IP-PBX. PBX stands for Private Branch Exchange which means a private telephone system which is part of a larger network system that exchange information.

An IP-PBX is a PBX based on the Internet. Asterisk and many other IP-PBX can also exchange calls between the PSTN ant the Internet. By including ToIP in Asterisk it will be possible to exchange ToIP calls.

The implementation described is not only including ToIP in Asterisk but also a translation function between the text format called t140 and another text format called t140 with redundancy.

The idea is to extend the translation function in the future to more text formats.

Abstract:
The need for security is crucial in Telephony over IP (ToIP). Secure protocols have been designed as well as specific devices to fulfill that need. This master thesis examines one of such devices called Session Border Controller (SBC), which can be compared to reverse proxies for ToIP. The idea is to apply message filters to increase security. This thesis presents the reasons of SBC existence, based on the security weaknesse sa ToIP network can show. These reasons are then used to establish a list of features which can be expected from a SBC and discuss its ideal placement in a ToIP network architecture. A test methodology for SBCs is established and used on the free software Kamailio as an illustration. Following this test, improvements of this software, regarding threats prevention and attacks detection, are presented and implemented.

Abstract:
The focus of this thesis is to visually show the significance and relationship between the use of natural materials, and geometric patterns used in Māori weaving. The patterns will reflect indigenous episteme of artistic and tacit knowledge. These patterns are significant to the Māori worldview of kaitiakitanga (stewardship of knowledge), which is cognisant in the ontology of Māori weaving. These patterns are significant forms of Māori cultural symbols that reflect elements of nature, evolution of time and space. The focus is to show how natural materials can be utilised in an art form that embraces bicultural activity, as a reference to customary and new age methods of thinking and practice. This leads to self-enquiry and our own responsibilities, only to ask ourselves; What are the guiding principles within art and design, that upholds the core values of Mātauranga Māori? (Māori epistemological thinking). The concept of this thesis is to define the cultural significance of kaitiakitanga (stewardship), through the preservation of Mātauranga Māori and practice as weavers and artists. This concept challenges our own understanding of what we know and what we don’t know about the relationships between people, place, environment and use. The methods and processes used for this work will be based on customary practices and methods, using native materials, endemic to New Zealand. These materials will be harvested at different time periods. The methodologies used in this project, is a product of intrinsic knowledge and testing new boundaries, through researching more specific detail about varieties of harakeke (New Zealand flax) cultivars, testing the flexibility, functionality and durability of materials. This will challenge the test, of making sure that the methods used will be significantly practiced throughout the processes involved in the making of artistic pieces of work, in accordance to tikanga (protocols). The use of native materials enhances cultural values of kaitiakitanga as a metaphor, which asserts sustainability of Māori epistemological notions of practice and meaning. This also applies to the visual language of Māori. The concept of visual language embraces metaphoric meanings and understanding, which relates to our co-existence with the earth, animals and the elements. All these elements of nature are contained within symbolic traditional patterns. Some of these patterns have derived from phenomena of thought structure, historical events and our co-existence through our connectedness to the land, waters, oceans, sky and universe. How can Māori forms of art be embraced and imbued, in modern society, that signifies place, belonging and cultural enhancement?

Abstract:
AbstractWhile information security nowadays represents a core concern for any organization, Trust Management is usually less elaborated and is only important when two or more organizations cooperate towards a common objective. The overall Once-Only Principle Project (TOOP) architecture relies on the concept of trusted sources of information and on the existence of a secure exchange channel between the Data Providers and the Data Consumers in this interaction framework. Trust and information security are two cross-cutting concerns of paramount importance. These two concerns are overlapping, but not identical and they span all of the interoperability layers, from the legal down to the technical, passing through organizational and semantic layers. While information security aims at the preservation of confidentiality, integrity and availability of information, trust establishment guarantees that the origin and the destination of the data and documents are authentic (authenticity) and trustworthy (trustworthiness), and that data and documents are secured against any modification by untrusted parties (integrity). In this chapter, the TOOP Trust Architecture is presented, starting from a simple abstract model of interaction between two agents down to the detailed end-to-end trust establishment architecture, modeled onto the Toop Reference Architecture presented in the previous chapter.
