Abstract:
This research aims to understand what needs that Rachel Watson as the main character in The Girl on the Train novel is trying to fulfill by riding the train every day and how she fulfills her safety and the love and belonging needs using Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of human needs. Before studying the needs, the writer analyzes the main character’s character and characterization. This research is using qualitative method and descriptive analysis to analyze the love and belonging needs and esteem needs of the main character. The result of this research is Rachel Watson as the main character has some noticeable characters such as imaginative, alcoholic, and liar. She fulfills her safety needs by killing her ex-husband and fulfills her love and belonging needs by trying to seek attention from her ex-husband, Tom Watson and from Scott Hipwell. Rachel fails to have the love from both Tom and Scott but finally she realizes that she is always loved by her friend, Cathy. Rachel successfully satisfies her needs until the third stage of the hierarchy: love and belonging needs.

In the joint cases of Tele2 Sverige AB v. Post-och telestyrelsen and Secretary of State for the Home Department v. Tom Watson, Peter Brice, and Geoffrey Lewis (the Decision), the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) held that member states are precluded from adopting legislation that allows a general and indiscriminate retention of all traffic and location data. While targeted retention of data is allowed for the specific objective of fighting serious crime, retention must be proportionate and access to the data must be limited to what is strictly necessary. To ensure that this is achieved, adequate safeguards must be set in place and access to the data must be subject to prior review by a court or independent administrative body.

AbstractIn 1892, H. Seb Doyle, an African American preacher, learned that Democrats sought to lynch him due to his support of Populist Congressman Tom Watson. Was the threat real? This question became the center of a campaign discussion of race, politics, and corruption. Democratic and Populist newspapers’ accounts of this issue reveal the role of the “rhetoric of corruption” in the Georgia Populist Party's campaigns in the 1890s. Ironically, Populists used the same rhetoric Democrats had used against Republicans during Reconstruction. Populists linked Democratic political and economic malfeasance with the racial “corruptions” of miscegenation and “Negro Domination.” Although the Populists attempted to make this link, their insistence on black and white political equality undermined their white supremacist rhetoric, thereby weakening their case. Despite the Populists’ failure, the ultimate result was the same: the Populists came to abandon biracial politics and called for greater disfranchisement, all in the name of reform.

Este artigo tem por objetivo realizar um mapeamento das publicações sobre o tema Avaliação da Sustentabilidade Ambiental para a Tecnologia de Informação e, a partir desse, selecionar um portfólio bibliográfico das publicações mais relevantes e alinhadas segundo a percepção dos autores dessa pesquisa. Para este portfólio, fez-se uma análise bibliométrica visando construir o conhecimento sobre os assuntos mais frequentes: autores, artigos, periódicos e palavras-chave no tema. Caracteriza-se este trabalho pelo caráter exploratório-descritivo; além disso, apresenta-se abordagens quantitativas e qualitativas, por meio do uso do instrumento de intervenção Knowledge Development Process - Constructivist. Nesse sentido, foram selecionados 25 artigos relevantes e 416 artigos de referências, que passaram a representar o Portfólio Bibliográfico. Na análise bibliométrica dos artigos do Portfólio Bibliográfico e suas referências evidenciam-se: os periódicos "Association for Computing Machinery Computing Surveys" e "Management Information Systems Quarterly"; os artigos "Information Technology and Organizational Performance: An integrative model of Information Technology business value" e "Beyond the Business Case for Corporate Sustainability"; as palavras-chaves "Information Technology" e "Sustainability"; e os autores mais citados Marie-Claude Boudreau, Tom Butler, Adela Chen, Jason Dedrick, Robert Sroufe, Richard Watson, e Nigel Melville. Abstract:
Producers of fresh fruits and vegetables face increasing production costs and international market competition. Growers who can offer high-quality watermelons [Citrullus lanatus (Thumb.) Matsum. & Nakai] that are also highly nutritious will have better market opportunities. To accomplish that, germplasm must be identified that has enhanced phytonutrient levels. Surprisingly, there is little information on the genetics of nutritional quality in watermelon. The present study was performed on 56 watermelon cultivars, breeding lines, and PI accessions (hereafter collectively referred to as cultigens) to determine the importance of genotype and environmental effects on L-citrulline concentration in fruit, an amino acid that helps regulate blood pressure. Our results demonstrated that L-citrulline concentration was affected by environment and the amount of environmental effect varies among cultigens. The mean of fruit tested in Lane, OK, was 3.10 mg·g−1 fresh weight and in College Station, TX, it was 1.67 mg·g−1 fresh weight. All cultigens had a higher mean L-citrulline concentration when grown in Lane, OK, instead of College Station, TX. Additionally, the L-citrulline concentration varied considerably within cultigens; i.e., ‘Congo’ had a 1.26 to 7.21 mg·g−1 fresh sample deviation. The cultigen ‘AU-Jubilant’ had the most stable L-citrulline concentration (2.23 to 4.03 mg·g−1 fresh deviation) when tested from one location. Environment did not significantly increase within-genotype variation (average se of 10 cultigens tested at each location was ± 35.3% for College Station, TX, and ± 32.9% for Lane, OK). L-citrulline concentration did not correlate with watermelon type (open-pollinated or F1 hybrid) or flesh color (red, orange, salmon yellow, or white). Differences among cultigens for L-citrulline were large (1.09 to 4.52 mg·g−1 fresh sample). The cultigens with the highest L-citrulline concentration were ‘Tom Watson’, PI 306364, and ‘Jubilee’. These could be used to develop cultivars having a high concentration of L-citrulline.

Penelitian ini bertujuan melakukan Analisa Tingkat Penerimaan PenggunaTerhadap pengguna Apikasi Sistem Informasi Manajemen Puskesmas SIMPUS dengan metode TAM. Variabel yang digunakan yaitu persepsi tentang kemudahan (Perseive ease of use), Persepsi terhadap kemanfaatan (Perceived Usefulness), Sikappenggunaan (Attitude Toward Using), Perilaku untuk tetap menggunakan (Behavioral Intention To Use), Kondisi nyata pengguna sistem (Actual System Usage).Bahan dan alat penelitian adalah Aplikasi SIMPUS.Teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi dan penyebaran kuisioner tertutupsejumlah 110 kuisioner kepada 110 pengguna aplikasi SIMPUS sebagai sampel.Hasil penelitian menunjukan pada data keenam variable berdistribusi normal (nilai Sig > 0.05) yaitu X1 (p= 0,172), X2 (p=0,171), X3 (p=0,143), X4 (p=0,117), X5 (p=0,062), Y (p=0,592).Hasil Uji Linearitas dengan menggunakan uji Durbin Watson menunjukkan bahwa tidak auto korelasi atau asumsi terpenuhi bahwa fungsi linier yaitu nilai statistic Durbin Watson (1,722) terletak diantara nilai table Durbin Watson (1,703) dan 4 – DU (2,291).Hasil Uji multikolinieritas menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada satu pun variable bebas yang memiliki nilai VIF(variance inflation factor) lebih dari 10 atau nilai toleransi kurang dari 0,10. Dan nilaiFhitung =91,469>Ftabel=2,65 atau nilai p<0,05.Variabel X1, X2, X3,X4, X5berpengaruh secara simultan atau bersama – sama dan signifikan terhadap penerimaan SIMPUS.Kesimpulan aspek persepsi kemudahan, persepsi kegunaan,sikap menggunakan, memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap penerimaan SIMPUS. Sedangkan niat perilaku menggunakan, penggunaan SIMPUS sesungguhnya tidak berpengaruh terhadap penerimaan SIMPUS.

Abstract:
Vincular o nome de John B. Watson ao Behaviorismo Metodológico e ao dualismo tem sido uma prática frequente e indiscriminada na literatura brasileira de psicologia. Este trabalho pretende identificar possíveis fontes de controle para essa vinculação. Constatou-se que a disseminação da ideia de que Watson é dualista ou behaviorista metodológico pode estar relacionada (A) à relutância de Watson em definir seus compromissos ontológicos em seus primeiros textos, (B) ao estilo de escrita de B. F. Skinner que critica o Behaviorismo Metodológico sem explicitar quem seriam os behavioristas metodológicos e (C) à influência do texto de Matos (1997a). Sugere-se que um retorno aos textos originais de Watson é necessário para a adequada caracterização de sua obra e compreensão da história do movimento behaviorista.

Abstract:
Este artigo se propõe a evidenciar o nível de visibilidade de Ellen Watson e John Gledson nas traduções para a língua inglesa da obra Relato de um certo oriente, escrito por Milton Hatoum. A obra foi traduzida para diversas línguas e tem Ellen Watson como a responsável pela versão intitulada The tree of the seventh heaven, publicada nos Estados Unidos, em 1994. A publicada na Inglaterra contou com a revisão da Watson e de John Gledson e recebeu o título Tale of a certain orient. Por meio da análise, observamos as decisões tomadas pelos tradutores em ambas versões ao se depararem com palavras típicas da região norte do Brasil. Limitamos nossa análise ao nível das palavras devido a uma questão de recorte metodológico, o que não diminui a importância dos outros níveis.

O impacto da obra de J. B. Watson tem sido explorado na historiografia da psicologia. Neste âmbito, destacam-se estudos que utilizam como método a análise bibliométrica. Tais pesquisas, no entanto, não utilizam parâmetros comparativos que possam indicar de forma mais precisa o grau de impacto daquela obra. O presente estudo busca preencher tal lacuna por meio de uma análise bibliométrica comparativa das referências às obras de Watson e outros três relevantes psicólogos do período: Edward B. Titchener, Edward L. Thorndike e William James. A pesquisa foi realizada em cinco importantes periódicos norte-americanos da área, entre os anos 1903 e 1923 – uma década antes e uma década após a publicação do Manifesto Behaviorista. Os resultados permitem concluir que, embora não possa ser tomada propriamente como um marco revolucionário, a obra de Watson teve, na década posterior à publicação do Manifesto Behaviorista (1914-1923), um impacto próximo ao de Titchener e maior do que o de Thorndike, ainda que distante da influência exercida por James.

O presente trabalho tem por objetivo investigar em que medida os programas de computador podem auxiliar (ou mesmo assumir pra si) o desempenho da função de mediação/conciliação. Para tanto, pretende-se inicialmente apresentar como a Internacional Business Machines (IBM) revolucionou o mercado das profissões de alta complexidade, desenvolvendo o Watson, programa destinado a realizar diagnósticos médicos. Na sequência, será discutido como o Watson (seguido por outros programas congêneres) passou a ter uma versão jurídica e tem progressivamente assumido funções que antes eram consideradas típicas de advogados. Como desenvolvimento, far-se-á uma reflexão a respeito das habilidades específicas exigidas nas atividades de mediação e conciliação, para tentar inferir até que ponto elas podem ser terceirizadas para não humanos. Por fim, buscar-se-á uma conclusão que estime até que ponto os programas de computador têm reais chances de assumir exclusivamente as atividades de mediação e conciliação, dispensando qualquer colaboração humana.

Pollen grains of nine taxa of Prangos Lindl. and one of Ekimia H. Duman & M.F. Watson (Umbelliferae) were examined with LM (light microscope) and SEM (scanning electron microscope), and of them four with TEM (transmission electron microscope). The quantitative data were also subjected to cluster analysis. The obtained phenogram revealed that Ekimia bornmuelleri (Hub.-Mor. & Reese) H. Duman & M.F. Watson is strictly different from the taxa of Prangos regarding their quantitative pollen profile; except P. ferulacea Lindl., all taxa included in section Intactae formed a cluster together; members of section Meliocarpoides and section Prangos show a closer relationship regarding their pollen features. Exine ornamentations of Prangos and Ekimia are rugulate-striate and are of no value for identification purposes.

Autor u radu analizira jedan pristup u okviru urbane sociologije, karakterističan za čikašku školu, koji je spajao određene biološke premise u poimanju grada s tipičnim sociološkim pristupom, promatrajući grad kao svojevrstan superorganizam i proizvod prirode, zbog čega se naziva ekološkom teorijom grada. U tom smislu, veza između biologije i sociologije, kao i teorije Roberta Ezre Parka i Ernesta Watsona Burgessa bit će predmet posebne analize koja za cilj ima što više približiti čitatelju ekološki pristup u urbanoj sociologiji. Predmet je posebnog interesa Parkova ideja o gradu kao produktu prirode, sa simbiotskom substrukturom i kulturnom suprastrukturom, kao i Burgessova ideja o rastu grada i teorija koncentričnih zona strukture grada. Resultados: Os resultados mostram fatores internos e externos aos enfermeiros que influenciam na pr�tica do cuidado oferecido �s fam�lias de crian�as. Tais fatores est�o intimamente relacionados aos processos clinical caritas da teoria de Watson, tornando a pr�tica do referencial forte fonte de evid�ncia e respaldo para as a��es do cuidado de enfermagem. Conclus�o: A teoria favoreceu aproxima��o do enfermeiro com fatores do cuidado de forma aut�ntica, consciente e intencional.

Neste artigo, objetivamos verificar a forma como os personagens das obras de Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes e Dr. Watson, são (re)construídos e (re-) apresentados para a televisão contemporânea na série Sherlock. Realizando uma análise estilística do episódio piloto, observamos os mecanismos de apresentação dos personagens, evidenciando os recursos estéticos e narrativos utilizados pelos criadores da série para “atualizar” os personagens para o século XXI. Entendemos que a indústria televisiva possui características bastante específicas que influenciam em seu estilo, ainda que algumas características se aproximem da indústria cinematográfica, o estilo televisivo tem sua história e especificidades. Com isso, demonstramos como a série dispõe de recursos audiovisuais para modernizar o método investigativo-dedutivo que tornou o personagem mundialmente conhecido.

A solid superacid catalyst SO42-/ZrO2–Sm2O3-SiO2 was prepared by a coprecipitation method and characterized by means of XRD, TEM and SEM. The kinetics of the esterification of palmitic acid and ethanol catalyzed by nano SO42-/ZrO2–Sm2O3-SiO2 catalyst was studied in a stirred batch reactor for the synthesis of ethyl palmitate. The effects of reaction temperature, feed molar ratio, catalyst loading and reusability of the catalyst were evaluated. The optimum conditions were as follows: n(palmitic acid):n(ethanol)=1:5, w(SO42-/ZrO2–Sm2O3-SiO2)=2.4%, reaction temperature 403K, and reaction time 2 h. The esterification efficiency of palmitic acid was about 82.6%. The experimental reaction rates were correlated using different rate models include the Eley–Rideal and Langmuir Hinshelwood Hougen Watson models.

A descoberta da configuração de genes interrompidos, com a discriminação de sequências denominadas exons e introns, foi um passo fundamental para o entendimento da arquitetura,funcionamento e regulação da expressão dos genes. Este é um artigo inicial de uma série que tem como objetivo fazer um levantamento dos experimentos fundamentais da descoberta dos vários tipos de introns. Descrevemos os antecedentes e a descoberta dos genes interrompidos de pré-mRNAs, os quais dão início à descrição desse tipo de organização gênica. O resgate da história da descoberta dos genes interrompidos e a descrição dos processos e métodos implicados têm sua importância na origem do vasto arsenal de técnicas e análises utilizadas nos estudos dos mecanismos de regulação gênica hoje em dia, a qual tem profundo impacto em várias atividades humanas.

Na ocasião, procura-se destacar aspectos behavioristas que aparecem como elementos basilares no conteúdo presente no livro. Assim, buscou-se, no livro didático, encontrar excertos que pudessem se articular a conceitos importantes do Behaviorismo, desde Pavlov e Watson até Skinner. Foi possível observar um grande número de aspectos behavioristas presentes como reforço positivo e reforço negativo, contingência de reforço, entre outros. Diante disso, é possível dizer que o livro Tópicos de Física 3 apresenta uma forte influência behaviorista e que isso pode ser um interessante parâmetro para se levar em consideração no momento de adoção do mesmo pelos professores no ensino de Física.

Terpecahnya Nahdlatul Wathan menjadi dua Pengurusan Besar berdampak pada perbedaan dukungan terhadap pasangan kandidat calon Presiden dan Wakil Presiden RI 2014 seperti Nahdlatul Wathan Pancor mengusung pasangan Prabowo-Hatta dan Nahdlatul Wathan Anjani mengusung Pasangan Jokowi-JK dan masing-masing kubu memiliki massa yang besar di desa Dasan Borok. Adapun tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui “Peran Kelompok Kepentingan Dalam Memobilisasi Politik Masyarakat Desa Dasan Borok Pada PILPRES 2014”. Dalam memetakan masalah dari penelitian yang bersetting di desa Dasan Borok, Kec. Suralaga ini, maka peneliti menggunakan pendekatan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan tujuan agar data yang disajikan relevan dengan pendekatan yang dipakai. Adapun tekhnik yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tekhnik purposive sampeling. Di samping itu untuk meningkatkan kevalidan data yang diperoleh, maka penelitian ini menggunakan tekhnik pengumpulan data observasi berbentuk participant observation dan wawancara tidak terstruktur serta dokumentasi dengan teknik analisis domain (domain analysis). Dari hasil temuan di lapangan dapat dideskripsikan bahwa PILPRES RI 2014 dipandang sebagai arena pertarungan oleh dua kubu Nahdlatul Wathan selaku kelompok kepentingan karena perbedaan usungan kandidat pasangan calon Presiden dan Wakil Presiden. Sebagai Kelompok Kepentingan, Nahdlatul Wathan berperan sebagai tim sukses dengan menggunakan peran dakwah sebagai media untuk melakukan mobilisasi politiknya terhadap masyarakat desa Dasan Borok pada PILPRES 2014. This research purposed at knowing “the role of political mobilizationof group interest in the president election in 2014 in Dasan Borok”. This research is a qualitative research approach utilizing descriptive in order the data is relevant. The technique used is purposive sampling. The data collection used is observation in from of participant observation, unstructured interview as well as documentation using domain analysis technique. Based on the found data, it can be described that the president’s election of RI 2014 seemed to be a strange struggling arena done by two sides group of Nahdlatul Wathan as the group interest. As the group interest, Nahdlatul Wathan personated as the success team, it was done through religious endeavor or dakwah in the society in Dasan Borok in president’s election of RI 2014. It can be seen when Nahdlatul Wathan held a great meeting (great religious endeavor) as well as a visit of the candidate of the presidents. Este estudo objetivou conhecer a percepção do cuidador domiciliar do idoso sobre o cuidado de si, através da Teoria do Cuidado Humano de Jean Watson. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, do tipo exploratório-descritiva, desenvolvida na Unidade de Saúde da Vila Floresta, com nove cuidadores domiciliares de idosos integrantes do Programa de Assistência Domiciliar. As informações foram coletadas no período de agosto a outubro de 2006, através da entrevista semi-estruturada, cuja análise e interpretação se deu a partir da análise de conteúdo de Bardin, emergindo as seguintes categorias: compartilhar o cuidado ao idoso - uma possibilidade para cuidar de si; descansar, passear, dormir, a gente não tem mais esse direito; presença da família: uma necessidade sentida pelo cuidador domiciliar; (des)equilíbrio do corpo físico e mental, uma resultante percebida no (des)cuidado de si. Conclui-se que o cuidador domiciliar é o principal responsável pelo cuidado ao idoso e que o cuidado de si faz parte da sua realidade.

ABSTRACT Wautersia eutropha, formerly known as Ralstonia eutropha, a gram-negative bacterium, accumulates polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) as insoluble granules inside the cell when nutrients other than carbon are limited. In this paper, we report findings from kinetic studies of granule formation and degradation in W. eutropha H16 obtained using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). In nitrogen-limited growth medium, the phenotype of the cells at the early stages of granule formation was revealed for the first time. At the center of the cells, dark-stained “mediation elements” with small granules attached were observed. These mediation elements are proposed to serve as nucleation sites for granule initiation. TEM images also revealed that when W. eutropha cells were introduced into nitrogen-limited medium from nutrient-rich medium, the cell size increased two- to threefold, and the cells underwent additional volume changes during growth. Unbiased stereology was used to analyze the two-dimensional TEM images, from which the average volume of a W. eutropha H16 cell and the total surface area of granules per cell in nutrient-rich and PHB production media were obtained. These parameters were essential in the calculation of the concentration of proteins involved in PHB formation and utilization and their changes with time. Trata de um estudo, do tipo descritivo com abordagem qualitativa, que teve como objetivo minimizar o impacto gerado pelo ambiente da UTI oncológica nos visitantes de pessoas internadas, através de proposta para a implementação de um ambiente de cuidado e conforto ao visitante em UTI, a qual é apresentada para discussão e implementação no local do estudo, o Hospital do Câncer I (HCI), localizado na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. O referencial teórico é fundamentado em Florence Nightingale, Jean Watson e Eloita Neves. Os dados foram obtidos através de entrevista semi-estruturada com 20 visitantes. A análise de conteúdo das entrevistas revelou que o visitante se sente confortável porque tem fé em um ser superior, confia nos recursos disponíveis para o tratamento, e o hospital possibilita acompanhar a condição do familiar internado. Por outro lado, sente-se desconfortável porque antecipa a perda de seu familiar portador de câncer, tem inúmeras expectativas sobre a UTI, as visitas e as informações que poderá receber, além de sofrer inúmeras sensações desagradáveis, devido à sua própria vulnerabilidade, frente à condição do familiar internado. Por este motivo, para se sentir mais confortável, o visitante refere que necessita ter confiança em Deus e no atendimento da UTI, além de desejar receber um acolhimento afetuoso e poder comunicar-se com os profissionais dessa UTI e com o familiar internado. Finalmente, as autoras apresentam a proposta de criação de ambiente de cuidado em UTI, baseada em nove pressupostos originados dos resultados obtidos no estudo.

O presente estudo tem como objetivo verificar a influência da convergência das normas brasileiras de contabilidade às normas contábeis internacionais no conservadorismo contábil de empresas brasileiras familiares e não familiares. Pesquisa descritiva, com abordagem quantitativa e apoiada em pesquisadocumental foi desenvolvida para tal. Para medir o conservadorismo condicional foi utilizado o modelo de Ball e Shivakumar (2005). A amostra compreendeu 315 empresas no período de 2003 a 2012, dividida em familiares e não familiares. Entre as técnicas estatísticas utilizadas na análise dos dados destacam-se a análise de dados em painel, teste LM de Breusch-Pagan, teste VIF, correção de White e teste de Durbin-Watson. Os resultados empíricos do estudo rejeitaram a hipótese de que a convergência das normas brasileiras de contabilidade às normas contábeis internacionais influenciou o nível de conservadorismo contábil de empresas brasileiras, o que foi observado tanto na amostra total quanto na subamostra de empresas não familiares. Somente para empresas familiares tal confirmação estatística foi possível. Assim, conclui-se que há evidencias de que a adoção das IFRS resultou em uma elevação do nível de conservadorismo contábil verificado nos relatórios de empresas brasileiras de controle familiar.

Crescentes são as cobranças da sociedade para que as organizações atentem a modelos socioambientais, sobretudo na utilização de recursos. Para que os princípios sustentáveis sejam adotados nas atividades cotidianas da gestão pública, fazem-se necessárias mudanças de atitudes e práticas, de forma a minimizar os impactos sociais e ambientais dessas atividades. Diante do contexto apresentado, este artigo tem como objetivo investigar, por meio de uma pesquisa qualitativa, a adesão dos colaboradores de um órgão público às práticas da A3P referentes ao uso do recurso energia promovidas na instituição analisada. Nesse intuito, foram utilizadas as lentes das Teorias das Práticas aplicadas por Shove, Pantzar e Watson (2012), onde as práticas são simplificadas nos elementos culturais compartilhados: material, significado e conhecimento prático/competência. Dos resultados obtidos, pode-se constatar que, das três práticas referentes ao uso racional da energia detectadas, uma demonstra deficiência do elemento material e as outras duas apresentam os três elementos constituintes das práticas. Assim, os resultados apontaram para a necessidade de se trabalhar o elemento material em uma das práticas sustentáveis analisadas, de forma que essa se estabeleça na instituição. O modelo aplicado por Shove et al. (2012) poderá ser utilizado como referência de análise em novos estudos.

Neste artigo foi proposto o uso de um chatbot para a aprendizagem e aprimoramento da língua inglesa, fazendo uso da grande presença dos dispositivos móveis atuais. Realizou-se uma revisão e análise bibliográfica sobre a aprendizagem de um idioma, a forma com que a tecnologia tem influenciado a aquisição da língua inglesa e sobre a possibilidade de transcender as salas de aula no que concerne ao aprendizado de uma nova língua. Além disso, buscou-se apresentar, também, o rápido crescimento da mobilidade de dispositivos eletrônicos, o cenário das plataformas móveis e as tecnologias que se destacam para o desenvolvimento de aplicativos nativos, hibridização como estratégia para o desenvolvimento de aplicativo móvel, e a viabilidade do uso de chatbot para o aprimoramento da língua inglesa. Para tanto, utilizou-se um renomado corpus linguístico estatístico e optou-se pelo IBM Watson como ferramenta de análise a partir do qual constatou-se o grande desafio de viabilizar a interação com o usuário de maneira mais eficaz. Os resultados preliminares de análise apontam que existe a real possibilidade de treinamento do chatbot com o corpus da língua inglesa para tal interação, através da frequência de uso das palavras em frases nos diálogos em inglês, para fins de aquisição e aprimoramento do referido idioma.

A influência que o ambiente construído exerce sobre o bem-estar dos seres humanos é notória, visto que, se forem mal projetados, os mesmos geram um impacto negativo na qualidade de vida de seus usuários. Dessa maneira, o entendimento acerca de como as pessoas percebem os ambientes é importante, tornando-se necessário o desenvolvimento de instrumentos capazes de avaliar a percepção e o bem-estar dentro do ambiente construído. Neste âmbito, o presente trabalho tem por objetivo aplicar a escala PANAS (Escala de Afeto Positivo e Negativo) de Watson e Tellegen (1985) para avaliar o impacto das variações das características do ambiente construído interno nos sentimentos dos indivíduos. Para tanto, realizou-se um experimento composto pela aplicação de um questionário composto por 48 sentimentos derivados da mesma escala a fim de determinar quais sentimentos são mais sensíveis à variação das características de cinco ambientes distintos. O questionário foi aplicado a 143 estudantes dos cursos de Engenharia Civil e Arquitetura e Urbanismo de uma Universidade. A partir do experimento, os resultados confirmaram que ambientes que possuem diferentes características projetuais tendem a despertar diferentes percepções em seus usuários, que associam à cada ambiente particular, sentimentos relacionados ao bem-estar ou mal-estar, adequando-se ao modelo preconizado pela escala PANAS.

Abstract:
The current research presents an experimental approach on the mechanism, kinetic and decay of industrial Pd-Ag supported α-Al2O3 catalyst used in the acetylene hydrogenation process. In the first step, the fresh and deactivated hydrogenation catalysts are characterized by XRD, BET (Brunauer–Emmett–Teller), SEM, TEM, and DTG analyses. The XRD results show that the dispersed palladium particles on the support surface experience an agglomeration during the reaction run time and mean particle size approaches from 6.2 nm to 11.5 nm. In the second step, the performance of Pd-Ag supported α-Al2O3 catalyst is investigated in a differential reactor in a wide range of hydrogen to acetylene ratio, temperature, gas hourly space velocity and pressure. The full factorial design method is used to determine the experiments. Based on the experimental results ethylene, ethane, butene, and 1,3-butadiene are produced through the acetylene hydrogenation. In the third step, a detailed reaction network is proposed based on the measured compounds in the product and the corresponding kinetic model is developed, based on the Langmuir-Hinshelwood-Hougen-Watson approach. The coefficients of the proposed kinetic model are calculated based on experimental data. Finally, based on the developed kinetic model and plant data, a decay model is proposed to predict catalyst activity and the parameters of the activity model are calculated. The results show that the coke build-up and condensation of heavy compounds on the surface cause catalyst deactivation at low temperature.

The paper deals with Western (Anglo-American) views on the Sarajevo assassination/attentat and Gavrilo Princip. Articles on the assassination and Princip in two leading quality dailies (The Times and The New York Times) have particularly been analysed as well as the views of leading historians and journalists who covered the subject including: R. G. D. Laffan, R. W. Seton-Watson, Winston Churchill, Sidney Fay, Bernadotte Schmitt, Rebecca West, A. J. P. Taylor, Vladimir Dedijer, Christopher Clark and Tim Butcher. In the West, the original general condemnation of the assassination and its main culprits was challenged when Rebecca West published her famous travelogue on Yugoslavia in 1941. Another Brit, the remarkable historian A. J. P. Taylor, had a much more positive view on the Sarajevo conspirators and blamed Germany and Austria-Hungary for the outbreak of the Great War. A turning point in Anglo-American perceptions was the publication of Vladimir Dedijer?s monumental book The Road to Sarajevo (1966), which humanised the main conspirators, a process initiated by R. West. Dedijer?s book was translated from English into all major Western languages and had an immediate impact on the understanding of the Sarajevo assassination. The rise of national antagonisms in Bosnia gradually alienated Princip from Bosnian Muslims and Croats, a process that began in the 1980s and was completed during the wars of the Yugoslav succession. Although all available sources clearly show that Princip, an ethnic Serb, gradually developed a broader Serbo-Croat and Yugoslav identity, he was ethnified and seen exclusively as a Serb by Bosnian Croats and Bosniaks and Western journalists in the 1990s. In the past century imagining Princip in Serbia and the West involved a whole spectrum of views. In interwar Anglo-American perceptions he was a fanatic and lunatic. He became humanised by Rebecca West (1941), A. J. P. Taylor showed understanding for his act (1956), he was fully explained by Dedijer (1966), challenged and then exonerated by Cristopher Clark (2012-13), and cordially embraced by Tim Butcher (2014).

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif studi kasus. Subyek penelitian adalah pengelola yayasan, kepala madrasah, guru, bendahara BOS, komite madrasah, orangtua siswa, siswa dan Tim Manajemen BOS Kementrian Agama Kabupaten Lombok Tengah. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mengadaptasi Model Spiral Analisis yang dikembangkan Creswell meliputi mengorganisasikan data, membaca dan membuat memo, mendeskripsikan, mengklasifikasikan, dan menafsirkan data menjadi kode dan tema, menafsirkan data, menyajikan data, dan memvisualisasikan data. Hasil penelitian ini adalah pada awal berdirinya madrasah merupakan institusi pendidikan yang tumbuh dan berkembang dari dan oleh masyarakat. Segala kebutuhan madrasah berasal dari masyarakat mulai dari biaya pembangunan gedung, biaya operasional dan lainnya berasal dari swadaya masyarakat. Namun keadaan berbeda setelah adanya BOS. Bantuan Operasional Sekolah dijadikan sumber utama pemenuhan biaya nonpersonalia madrasah, tidak ada usaha dari pengelola madrasah dalam mendapatkan tambahan biaya nonpersonalia. Hal ini menyebabkan segala aktivitas pembelajaran dapat berjalan apabila dana BOS dicairkan. AbstractThis study aims to reveal the impact of School Operational Assistance (SOA) on the challenge of independence of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nurul Yaqin Praya and Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Ittihadiyah Nahdlatul Wathan (NW) Sepakat. The approach used in this study is a qualitative case study. The research subject the foundation managers, headmasters, teachers, treasurers SOA, school committee, parents, student, SOA management team in the central Lombok Ministry of Religion. The data were collected through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis was carried out by adapting the Spiral Model of analysis developed by Creswell including organizing data, reading and creating memo, describing, classifying, and interpreting the data into code and themes, interpreting data, presenting data and visualizing data. The results of this study are at the beginning of the establishment of the madrasa was an educational institution that grew and developed from and by the community. But the situation is different after the SOA. School Operational Assistance is used as the main source of madrasa nonpersonal cost. There is no effort from the madrasa manager to obtain additional nonpersonal cost. This causes all learning activities to run if the SOA funds are disbursed.

A pandemia da COVID-19 que assolou nosso planeta, trouxe consequências drásticas para as famílias e uma delas foi o isolamento social. Vários foram as estratégias ao redor do mundo de fazer com que esse afastamento não virasse patologia, músicas na janela, “chuva” de lives, recebidos e muitas vídeo-chamadas. O presente trabalho tem por objetivo dialogar com os desenhos que as crianças do terreiro Omi Larè Iya [1]Sagbá fizeram nesse período. A ideia era que as crianças fizessem desenhos dos seus respectivos orixás e compartilhassem no grupo de Watsap do asé, seria um afago para as pessoas do terreiro ver imagens produzidas pelas crianças com mensagens de que ficaria tudo bem. Segundo Beniste o “orixá são divindades representadas pela energia da natureza, forças que alimentam a vida a terra, agindo de forma intermediária entre Deus e as pessoas”. Logo o acolhimento vai vir das matas, das águas doces e salgadas, da terra, da chuva, dos raios e trovões. Para Sarmento “o desenho infantil comunica, as imagens são evocativas e referências de modo distinto e para além do que a linguagem verbal pode fazer”. Assim vai seguir este trabalho além do verbal.
