This article aims to analyze the use of musical intelligence (Howard Gardner) as a tool to facilitate individuals’ pronunciation. A study with Emirati participants who have Arabic as L1 has been conducted to see if participants in the experimental group, who were trained in English pronunciation through music, achieve greater outcomes than those in the control group, who were trained through a more traditional way (by listening and repeating exactly the same content as the experimental group). This study was designed to examine any links between the concept of flow or optimal experience and the creative output of student compositions. The creative products of group compositions by university students (n=45) were rated for creativity and on a number of standard criteria and compared with scores obtained from Experience Sampling Forms (Csikszentmihalyi & Csikszentmihalyi, 1988) completed by each participant. This paper presents the results of teaching robust design techniques to industrial design students in the Chinese context. Year 3 students in a Bachelor of Engineering programme at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in Suzhou, China studied robust design techniques over a one-semester course. Abstract:
Music lyrics can convey a great part of the meaning in popular songs. Such meaning is important for humans to understand songs as related to typical narratives, such as romantic interests or life stories. This understanding is part of affective aspects that can be used to choose songs to play in particular situations. This paper analyzes the effectiveness of using text mining tools to classify lyrics according to their narrative contexts.
