Over the last few decades, scholarly communication is changing with the use of social media serving as an effective medium. Several new factors have emerged in the context of social media activity to accelerate the shift. The current research relied on the ResearchGate platform, an Academic Social Networking Site (ASNS), meant for scientists and scholars enabling them to share, communicate, collaborate, connect and get updated with the feeds and scholarly information. The study focused on the top 15 cited Indian researchers and their research performance on ResearchGate. The research data was

Abstract: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disorder that affects the synovial joints, causing swelling and joint damage. RA has become a major public health concern, harming more than 1500 peoples per lakh of the world's population. This inflammatory disorder is more common in females in comparison to males (3:1). In the present work, a scientometric analysis of published articles on RA during the last five years [1st January 2016 to 2021] on 19/08/2021 in the Scopus database is performed and investigates the contribution of India. AbstractWe examined the long-term impact of coauthorship with established, highly-cited scientists on the careers of junior researchers in four scientific disciplines. Here, using matched pair analysis, we find that junior researchers who coauthor work with top scientists enjoy a persistent competitive advantage throughout the rest of their careers, compared to peers with similar early career profiles but without top coauthors. Such early coauthorship predicts a higher probability of repeatedly coauthoring work with top-cited scientists, and, ultimately, a higher probability of becoming one. J
