Abstract:
One of the important components in the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract is the use of topical adrenomimetics, the irrational use of which leads to the development of local and systemic side effects. To minimize the negative effects, it is necessary to use modern vasoconstrictive drugs that have a complex effect due to the addition of medicines to their composition that improve mucociliary clearance, moisturize the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity and paranasal, regeneration processes. The aim of the work was to study the possibility of effective use of a dec

The problem of the prevalence of upper respiratory tract diseases, including acute and chronic rhinosinusitis, requires timely, high-quality medical and pharmaceutical care. Decongestants are the basis of rhinosinusitis therapy. The results of studying the range of adrenomimetics (code R01AA) are presented. The set of vasoconstrictive nasal medication is characterized by a wide range, 15 international nonproprietary names (INN) and their combinations are represented on the pharmaceutical market. To facilitate breathing, patients often independently use over-the-counter vasoconstrictors in the

Rhinitis is an inflammation of the nasal mucosa with rhinorrhea, nasal congestion, sneezing and nasal itching. Rhinitis can be acute or chronic (allergic rhinitis, non-infectious rhinitis, infectious rhinitis) with nasal symptoms, ophthalmological symptoms, ear congestion, sore throat, postnasal drip, cough. Up to 98% of cases of acute infectious rhinitis develop against the background of an acute respiratory viral infection. The pathogenesis of acute viral rhinitis and acute viral sinusitis is based on nasal congestion, difficulty in mucociliary transport and blockage of the paranasal sinuses

Prevalence of allergic rhinitis among chronic upper respiratory diseases in pediatrics is one of highest. Beside anti-inflammatory drugs (topical steroids, antileukotrienes, antihistamines), reliever therapies are important too in treatment of allergic rhinitis. Decongestant prescription in children should lasts no more than 7–10 days; combination of alpha1-adrenomimetic with topical antihistamines is one of possible ways to improve the efficacy, for example, the combination of dimetindene maleate with phenylephrine as nasal drops.
