The face gear drive is a gear meshing drive with cylindrical gear and bevel gear. Because of its small space, high contact ratio, large transmission torque, low vibration and noise, not sensitive to the axial phase error of the worm and so on, face gear transmission is widely applied. In the traditional gear transmission dynamic contact analysis (TCA), first, simulate the meshing equation; second, calculate the contact trajectory that is formed by the adherent point; last, solve each of the instantaneous contact areas and solve tooth contact region in meshing process. But it can’t solve the ta

The process of single abrasive in grinding-drill is simulated by using of deform-3D. The reasonable rotation and feed are achieved. Then the really process of grinding-drill is simulated. It is analyzed that deferent face structure of grinding-driller influences grinding-drill process. The reasonable taper vertex angle and amount of eccentric of the grinding-driller are obtained by means of the smallest axial force & torque & lower cutting temperature. So that the reasonable face structure of grinding-driller will be achieved.

In order to solve the load-sharing characteristics of face-gear four-branching split-torque transmission system (FGFBSTTS), the static load-sharing mechanical analysis model was established. In the model, the deformation coordination conditions of torsional angle and torque balance condition were considered. By using Loaded Tooth Contact Analysis (LTCA) technology of face gear and herringbone gear, the time-varying meshing stiffness was calculated. Some non contacting mechanical face seals are running near the laminar boundary flow limit. A modification of operating conditions leads to a non laminar fluid flow in the seal interface while inertia forces remain negligible. A numerical model has been developed to determine pressure and velocity fields in the sealing dam for laminar to turbulent regime. The turbulent viscosity determination is based on the Elrod and Ng model. Evolutions of seal characteristics (opening force, friction torque, leakage rate…) and fluid film dynamic coefficients versus running conditions are presented. Numerica

A numerical model is developed for the dynamic analysis of gas lubricated spiral groove face seals. Effects of the rotor runout, misalignment, face contact, as well as the stiffness and damping of the secondary seal are considered. Seal axial and angular motions and key parameters such as torque, power loss, and flow rate are obtained by a global time integration scheme, which traces the time history of the dynamic sealing behaviors. The analysis of gas film lubrication, face contact, and the seal dynamics is cast as an inverse problem and the solution is obtained iteratively at each time step

Recently demonstrated, the giants (Ks⩽ -22.5 mag) in the Local Volume beyond the Local Sheet have spin vectors directed close to the plane of the Local Supercluster, supporting the predictions of Tidal Torque Theory. However, the giants in the Local Sheet encircling the Local Group display a distinctly different arrangement, suggesting that the mass asymmetry of the Local Group or its progenitor torqued them from their primordial spin d

Machine tool supervision and control algorithms require reliable and effective sensor signals to operate properly. In effort to satisfy this need, a high stiffness, wide bandwidth torque sensor for use in milling has been developed which directly measures the torque applied to a milling cutter during operation. The sensor is designed to fit between the tool and holder on conventional tooling with very little effect on the cutting process. The sensor is strain gage based and provides a virtually distortionless torque measurement over a bandwidth from DC to 2000 Hz when using a 100 mm diameter f
