Amphibole chemistry of the hornblende-biotite (HB) and porphyritic hornblende-biotite (PHB) granites from Toro, North-central Nigeria has been studied by electron probe micro analysis, to determine its petrogenesis. Generally, the amphiboles are calcic with a wide compositional range. The amphiboles in the Toro hornblende-biotite (HB) granite are mainly hastingsite and with minor ferro-tschermakite, while the Toro porphyritic hornblende-biotite (PHB) granite clustered between hastingsite and ferro-pargasite. One question now gaining currency is: what is the relationship of law to social change? AbstractThe Toro Complex is one of the Pan-African Older Granites of Nigeria, first described as a reversely zoned pluton made of a central dioritic mass surrounded by a broad granitic rim. It has been thoroughly reinvestigated both from the petrographic and structural points of view, with the help of systematic anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS) measurements. The granite main body is a hornblende–biotite porphyritic monzogranite characterized by an early submagmatic fabric displaying a concentric pattern of foliations and west plunging lineations (stage 1). In this thesis we construct for a given smooth, generic Hamiltonian H on the 2n dimensional torus a chain-isomorphism between the Morse complex of the Hamiltonian action on the free loop space of the torus and the Floer-complex. Though both complexes are generated by the critical points of the Hamiltonian action, their boundary operators differ. Therefore the construction of the isomorphism is based on counting the moduli spaces of hybrid-type solutions which involves stating a new non-Lagrangian boundary value problem for Cauchy-Riemann type operators not yet studied in Floer theory. Abstract:
The joint Natural Resources Canada/Department of Fisheries and Oceans Marine Spatial Planning Program requires the highest resolution bathymetric elevation data and adjacent land-based topographic elevation data that are available. This digital elevation model of Canada's west coast compiles the best data available from multiple government agencies to create a regional model gridded at 10 metre spacing. The transitions between the marine and terrestrial areas are near-seamless creating a surface of elevations for non-navigational scientific research, cartographic, and general marine spatial pl

Based on an in-depth analysis of artificial intelligence and machine learning systems, the authors consider the future of applying such systems to cyber attacks, and what strategies attackers are likely or less likely to use. As nuanced, complex, and overhyped as machine learning is, they argue, it remains too important to ignore.

In Gideon v. Wainwright, the U.S. Supreme Court held that the government must provide a criminal defense lawyer for any accused person who cannot afford one. But for too many people, Gideon's promise remains unfulfilled. In Texas, there are no statewide guidelines about who is entitled to a court-appointed lawyer. Instead, counties create their own rules that create serious gaps in constitutional protection. Getting Gideon Right investigates the financial standards that determine an accused person's eligibility for appointed counsel in Texas county courts. The report reveals a patchwork of cou

Emergency Relief (ER) is a Department of Social Services (DSS) funded program, delivered by 197 community organisations (ER Providers) across Australia, to assist people facing a financial crisis with financial/material aid and referrals to other support programs. ER has been playing this important role in Australian communities since 1979. Without ER, more people living in Australia who experience a financial crisis might face further harm such as crippling debt or homelessness. The Emergency Relief National Coordination Group (NCG) was established in April 2020 at the start of the COVID-19 p

This paper evaluates the effect of positive inducements on tax behavior by exploiting a natural experiment in which a municipality of Argentina randomly selected 400 individuals among more than 72,000 taxpayers who had complied with payment of their property tax. These individuals were publicly recognized and awarded the construction of a sidewalk. Results indicate that: i) being selected in the lottery and publicly recognized by the government has a positive but not persistent effect on future compliance; ii) receiving the sidewalk has a large positive and persistent effect; iii) high and per
