Abstract:
In this work, the model of development of the P2P file exchange network organized by a torrent tracker is considered. The model is constructed on the basis of ordinary differential equations. The phase variables describing a status of a torrent tracker and the network organized by it (in first approximation is the number of the users of the tracker who are actively participate in information exchange, and the number of active torrents) are defined, the factors influencing the change of users number and the number of torrents are analyzed. On the basis of the analysis the system of differential

Reuben Archer Torrey III, a notable missionary to South Korea in the second half of the twentieth century, was deeply committed to demonstrating true Christianity and making it a reality in Korea through the ministry of Jesus Abbey, an ecumenical community that he and his wife, Jane, founded in 1965. Torrey’s theology and practice of Christian mission have had a transformative impact on Korean Christianity and still have much to contribute to the understanding of the nature and calling of the church. This article examines Torrey’s theology of the Holy Spirit, his view of biblical economic just

In 1853, the American botanist John Torrey described a new genus of pitcher plant, naming it Darlingtonia (Sarraceniaceae). The plant had been collected near Mount Shasta in California in 1841 by William Brackenridge, a member of the Wilkes Expedition. The name honoured William Darlington (1782–1863), a Pennsylvania physician and botanist who had traded information and specimens with Torrey for many years. Darlington considered a genus eponym as a distinct honour. The genus name Darlingtonia, however, had been used twice before, but the plants were shown to belong to Desmanthus (Leguminosae) a

Slushflows have been investigated in various regions of the Earth for more than forty years. Most of the observed events occurred in mountainous drainage basins at high latitudes, so relatively few observations and measurements are presented in the scientific literature. This particularly holds for slush torrents which are major slushflow events reaching supercritical flow velocities. Thus, information on dynamical features of slush torrents are rather limited, and most results are based on qualitative observations. On June 3,1995, during a field campaign in the Kärkevagge, a drainage basin in

Swimmer Dara Torres’s comeback to her sport at 41 years of age was a prominent story from the 2008 Beijing Olympics. While her record making swims made her comeback an athletic success, the importance of her comeback extends beyond her athletic accomplishments. Media representations of Torres during her comeback construct her body and the lifestyle that produced it as inspirational—or fitspirational. Although the term circulates widely in U.S. popular culture, and despite its importance in reframing what a woman’s ideal body is and how it is achieved, fitspiration has not received much attenti

Certain ions such as Na+ and Cl– can accumulate in recirculating greenhouse nutrient solutions and can reach levels that are damaging to crops. An option for the treatment of this problem is phytodesalinization with Na+ and Cl– hyperaccumulating plants that could be added to existing water treatment technologies such as constructed wetlands (CWs). Two microcosm experiments were conducted to evaluate eight plant species including Atriplex prostrata L. (triangle orache), Distichlis spicata (L.) Greene (salt grass), Juncus torreyi Coville.
