The study shows that the implementation of Islamic law in formulating halal tourism policies in Indonesia involves several steps and practices aimed at ensuring compliance with Islamic principles within the tourism industry. Furthermore, the thoughts and authority of ulama play a pivotal role in shaping and influencing policies related to halal tourism. Lastly, the Indonesian government has established policies consistent with Islamic principles, such as regulations on the management and provision of halal food, the development of family-friendly tourist destinations, the promotion of spiritual tourism, the prohibition of practices and services conflicting with sharia, the development of sharia-based ecotourism, and the utilisation of Islamic language and symbols in tourism promotion. The study contributes to identifying gaps and opportunities for further incorporating Islamic principles into tourism policies.

Abstract:
World halal tourism can be relied upon due to its enormous potential from an economic standpoint. Halal to tourism is aimed at providing tourism services that are friendly to Islamic law applications for Muslim tourists. The development of halal tourism experienced the largest growth compared to other types of tourism until 2018 in Indonesia. The development led to increasingly high levels of human resource with skills and competencies in the field of syariah-compliant tourist services. The movement of human resources from conventional tourist services to halal tourist services will result in changes in human resource behavior, and the productivity of halal tourist services. This study will explain the readiness of the Islamic human resources to deal with these changes. This study examines the issue of Islamic HR in Sharia Hotels with a sample of 200 employees as respondents. This research uses a qualitative approach, namely the RASCH model and SWOT analysis so that measurements with the Likert scale are more appropriate. Since this research issue has never been studied before and there are not enough variables and constructs available, the authors use an exploratory approach. The results of this study indicate that the readiness of Islamic HR in Syariah Hotels as measured by various competencies shows mixed results. Intellectual competence and competency in sharia science were found to be of low category. In addition, anxiety levels and burnout levels are high. On the other hand, Islamic tourism halal tourism has advantages in terms of productive age and high levels of emotional and social competence. The opportunity for Islamic HR management lies in implementing halal tourism standardization, both national and international standards. However, hospitality Islamic hospitality also faces threats, namely an increase in the number of competitors. Therefore, the Halal hospitality industry of the national hotel needs adequate education and training in Islamic human resources, both by relevant government agencies and other stakeholders. This effort is to support the improvement of national halal tourism, especially in the area of ??sharia hotels in West Java.

Abstract:
The development of halal tourism in Indonesia is the focus of the Indonesian government and MSMEs have an important role in supporting the development of halal tourism in Indonesia. This study aims to examine the relationship between marketing communication and Islamic financial literacy on Islamic financial inclusion and MSME performance in the halal-tourism sector. A covariance-based SEM technique utilizing LISREL software was used to analyze the data from this investigation. Nonprobability sampling was employed to collect the data, and the sample consists of 152 halal-tourism entrepreneurs. This study found a positive and significant association between Islamic financial inclusion and business performance. This study also found that there is a positive and significant association between Islamic financial literacy and Islamic financial inclusion. Marketing communication and Islamic financial inclusion have a positive relationship, but it is insignificant. This study implies that to establish a halal-tourist ecosystem for long-term development in Indonesia, commercial actors must lend their full support. This study demonstrates that they can thrive when MSMEs in the halal-tourist ecosystem are backed by Islamic banking and Islamic rural banks. As a result, a more accommodating approach from Islamic banking is required to provide access to halal finance for business actors in Indonesia’s halal-tourism ecosystem.

Abstract:
This chapter explores the emergence and development of Halal branded hospitals and medical facilities as a product of Medical Tourism for Muslim patients around the world and in India. Halal tourism is a sub-category of spiritual tourism, where one has to abide by the Sharia law to satisfy Muslim customers. The main objective of the chapter is to focus on a niche category of halal medical tourism, where Sharia rules are followed to attract the medical tourist mainly from Islamic countries. This chapter also proposes a typology of Muslim medical tourist's cultural sensitivities and recommends branding and certifying Halal Medical Tourism hospitals, healthcare facilities, pharmaceuticals, products, and services to attract Muslim patients, and provides challenges and opportunities with future research directions. The case studied in this chapter is of the Global Health City, the first Halal Certified Medical Hospital facility in Chennai, India. It presents a model for halal branding of Indian Medical Tourism based on the halal decision-making paradigm for Muslim customers designed by Wilson and Liu (2010). The model presented here indicates attitudes of being rational or emotional and elements reflecting affective and cognitive feelings for Muslim patients seeking halal treatment in halal hospitals.

Abstract:
Religions have their own set of rules about foods. There are institutions to supervise the conformity of the food products to these particular sets of rules. Products that are ritually fit according to the religious law and therefore are proper to be consumed are called “kosher” for Jews and “halal” for Muslims. The topic of halal food has sparked a continuously increasing interest, especially in recent years, and it is one of the most popular topics on the agenda of both the scientific and business communities as well as the states. In this chapter, both the concept of “halal” and the logistics operations that also have a significant relevance with the concept have thoroughly been examined. The concept of halal covers all of the activities related with food products “from farm to fork,” but logistics activities in this sense have usually been ignored. In this study, the definition and scope of halal logistics and also the opportunities for businesses have been dealt with. The aim of the research is to determine the potential of the halal food market around the world and opportunities for the logistics sector. Since the number of the studies about halal food and halal market is limited, this chapter is expected to help academicians and practitioners. One of the objectives of this study is to compare similarities and differences between halal food and kosher food. Another objective of the study is to determine the rules of halal food in logistics operations.

Abstract:
Walking is an important part of the tourist experience and comfort travel. There is increasing attention to encourage tourists to walk as a mode of sustainable transportation. Emergence of new and diverse forms of data has expand the field of research via text mining analysis. This is an alternative for common research methodology as a good analysis tool to reflect pedestrians’ opinions in spatial design and urban planning. In this regard, the novelty of this paper is to investigate the relationship between walkability and successful tourism in Doha, Qatar by utilizing text mining analysis on a readily available datasets, i.e. the customer generated contents from TripAdvisor. The collected data for tourist attractive places in Doha, Qatar shows higher frequency (connection) of words that reflect the characteristics of each research location and its respective relationship with public transportation (Doha Metro) to support the walkable environment. The findings have determined some users-friendly walking environment especially for research locations like The Pearl, Souq Waqif and Museum of Islamic Arts. On the other hand, it is indicated that the rate of Metro use is still low compared to the city’s population and this will take some time for Doha Metro to be used as main mode of transportation among the tourists. The outcome of this study will enable to propose some guidelines to enhance the walking environment for tourists within the challenging weather condition like hot and arid climate of Qatar
