Abstract:
necessary to ensure the livelihoods of those leaving the agricultural sector and to supplement the incomes of those working in agriculture. I research rural development in four settlements in Hajdú-Bihar County, in Balmazújváros, Hortobágy, Tiszacsege and Egyek, all bordering Hortobágy National Park. There are many alternative income sources in settlements in the Hortobágy area, such as organic farming, production herbs, hungaricums, small animals and arts and crafts, as well as rural tourism. Rural tourism is not for subsistence, but a supplementary income source, mainly available during the summer time. I made a survey of rural hosts in the four examined settlements, and according to my results, I constructed a model reflecting the cost-benefit relation, as well as the payment period conditions of rural tourism. I am going to show whether it is worth dealing with rural tourism, and if yes, under what conditions. Rural tourism contributes to the maintenance of rural modes of living, in this way it has significant cultural, economic, ecological and social aspects, as well. It is crucial for settlements to create the appropriate conditions needed for joining rural tourism, if it is worth joining at all, and to realise investments for all these. Rural tourism has strict requirements for the levels of environment, infrastructure and services. Studying the Western-European practices, Hungary is lagged behind in the conditions of rural tourism and rural hosts have done their activities mainly out of necessity and not to maintain traditions. Rural tourism may result in success only by co-operation and over the long-run.

Abstract:
The specificity of the tourist market and the connection of modern tourist products with numerous economic and non-economic activities cause the multiplicity of socio-economic effects of tourism. The development of tourism creates opportunities for a number of other activities, which means that tourism is a significant factor in boosting the overall economic development. Tourism plays a particularly important role in the overall socio-economic development of underdeveloped countries and regions. Tourism can contribute to positive socio-economic development, but at the same time, inadequate and uncontrolled management of a tourist destination can have negative socio-cultural, but also economic consequences. The paper investigates the basic socio-cultural and economic aspects and impacts of tourism. The authors pay special attention to the analysis of the multiplying effects of tourism on the development of a particular destination. Starting from the history of travel and tourism as an activity, key motives and socio-economic effects, the 2008 World Economic Crisis, its origin, causes, and consequences of its impact on the entire world economy, especially tourism, the authors analyzed the current economic indicators of tourism activity in the world economy and projections of expected trends. In this paper, the focus of the analysis is on the tourist travel and economic and socio-cultural impact of tourism on the tourist destination, the individual, and the society as a whole.

The social web is more than a technological innovation: it is a social innovation – it changes the way people and companies interact and communicate. New business models, new structures and new hierarchies in tourism enterprises and tourism organisations are the reason for this transformation. Because of this circumstance, tourism organisations and companies not only meet tough challenges, but also hold a multiplicity of potential. The environment of tourism is going to change permanently by the influence of the social web on media landscapes, media consumption and the construction of tourism imaginations. This article visualises the challenges in tourism associated with the developments of the social web out of a scientific and practical point of view.

Abstract:
The tourism industry is poised to command a significant role in the economy of Rwanda, a low-income developing country that is rapidly transforming into a service-oriented economy. However, the industry does not exist as a distinct entity in a country’s national accounts leading to difficulties in estimating its role. Besides, the existence of a significant informal sector aggravates the situation. This study used tourism satellite accounts approach to estimate the economic contribution of tourism. Using primary data from various tourism surveys, six core tables of the tourism satellite accounts framework are presented to estimate the direct economic contribution of tourism to Rwanda’s economy in 2014. In this year, a total of 1,219,529 international tourists visited the country while 560,000 residents took part in domestic tourism trips resulting in internal tourism expenditure/consumption amounting to RWF 261.2bn. This generated an estimated RWF 197.5bn as gross value added by the tourism characteristic industries. Direct tourism gross value added was estimated at RWF 120.0bn while direct tourism gross domestic product, a measure of the direct effects of internal tourism consumption on gross domestic product of the economy was computed at RWF 128.3bn (or 2.5% of Rwanda’s gross domestic product) in the year. In addition to the core six tourism satellite accounts tables, the levels of tourism employment (about 89,000 jobs) tourism gross fixed capital formation (slightly over RWF 200bn) and tourism collective consumption (over RWF 7bn) were estimated. Under this study, the international methodological recommendations on tourism satellite accounts were implemented for Rwanda. The contribution of tourism to gross domestic product, employment, investment, and collective consumption was quantified and estimated. Informal sector tourism activities were included in these estimates. Gross fixed capital formation and collective consumption estimates are tentative due to conceptual considerations documented by the methodological framework.

Abstract:
Rwanda is experiencing rapid development and urbanization in the Post-genocide perpetrated against Tutsi (1994) period. Kigali as the capital and the leading city is undergoing remarkable changes in the process of modernization. This is being done through the rejuvenation of commercial areas, building of new business offices and quality infrastructure, improvement of urban service delivery, tourism and industrial development (Kigali Special Economic Zone). Together with a clean city policy, the City of Kigali is now known to be one of the cleanest cities in Africa. This has been effectively achieved through consistent and integrated urban policies. However, the city has been facing challenges related to informal settlements and equitable provision of urban services to all residents. In this paper, data from secondary sources, mainly official reports, policy documents and academic papers, are presented and discussed through various perspectives related to the urban growth of Kigali. Likewise, the implications of existing policies on the implementation of strategic initiatives have also been highlighted.

Abstract:
The present analysis focuses on the context of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, a context in which the state governments of the world have adopted measures trying to limit the spread of the virus, with the risk of affecting the economy in the long run. The oil industry has faced declining oil prices, which has had consequences for other industries, such as tourism, HoReCa and transportation. The pandemic with the COVID-19 virus also had a devastating impact on air traffic, the number of flights decreasing considerably due to the traffic restrictions that were imposed. Last but not least, tourism is another sector affected by the pandemic, due to the lack of tourists, thus causing effects on other economic sectors. Some of the effects of the measures adopted in the context of the pandemic have already occurred, and others are about to occur, being of impact and duration. The article underlines the impact of the January-June 2020 pandemic on the oil industry, air traffic and tourism and provides an overview of the challenges which governments need to address together with economic operators in order to regain public confidence to facilitate consumer decisions and for economic recovery.

Abstract:
The term sustainable development is a commonly and widely used term in our contemporary world. The concept has gained popularity because it satisfies the urge of both its environmentalists and the developers. Sustainable tourism is considered as the meeting point of the developers and environmentalists even as both of them are quite skeptic about each other and criticize each other. Tourism which is an economic sector can eradicate poverty to a great extent. But the overuse of the natural resources for the tourism activities always leads to the negative impact on the environment. So there is an urgent need to maintain the balance between development and environment; otherwise the ever grasping power of tourism and development will demolish the basic structure of the world. The aim of this paper is to study the dialogues of sustainable tourism with reference to environment and economy. The present article is a conceptual discussion of evolution and the issues of sustainable tourism under economy and the environmental heads and concludes that both environment and development have equal importance in the betterment and survival of the human society

Abstract:
The article deals with the economic and legal aspects of regulating the tourism industry. It is established that a strategy of profitable and effective activities should be carried out at the level of the travel agency, while the policy, which would include methods of planning and coordination of the entire travel industry, should be performed at the level of the individual region. It is proved that the regional community should be involved in tourism development. The authors reveal that the specificity of tourist services is related to the features of tourist demand, which is not uniform because of the impalpability and nonpreservation of the tourist product. This makes it difficult for managers of a travel company to convince each consumer about the feasibility of purchasing a travel service. It is determined that despite the tourism industry is regulated legally, however, its constituent sources often come into conflict with each other, creating legal conflicts, whose solution is unfairly ignored by the legislative bodies.

The technological advances in artificial intelligence and robotics allow the massive introduction of service robots by travel, tourism and hospitality companies. While research on service robots in tourism is gaining momentum, the economic aspects of robots’ adoption have been quite neglected. This article critically evaluates the current research on the economic aspects of service robots in tourism and the implications of robots for tourism economics as a field of research in three domains: tourism supply, tourism demand and destination management. In that way, the article delves into the economics of service robots from the perspectives of the tourism companies, the tourists and the destinations as a whole. On the basis of this discussion, the article identifies various research directions and develops specific research questions related to the adoption of robots in tourism that need to be answered by future research in tourism economics.

Abstract:
The tourism economy can be defined as part of the economic sciences that describes, analyzes, explains and brings together the phenomena and relations in tourism in terms of their economic performance and result / reflection. Given that it can significantly affect socio-economic relations and given the necessary systemic solutions within the national economies, the relevant economic policies of the country and the international community, tourism has all the properties / features to be subject to macroeconomic analysis. On the other hand, the multitude of economic organisms operating in the tourism industry justify many microeconomic studies. But apart from the interests that tourism thrives in the framework of aggregate economics and economics of enterprises, it justifiably requires specific study as a "boundary area" that is somewhat analogous to the frontier or district economics of some other activities. Moreover, seen as a commercial phenomenon, tourism can and must, above all, be described and analyzed analytically, be explained and understood as such an area of economic sciences, because in such an area, purified terms allow for a clearer understanding of its macroeconomic and microeconomic aspects. However, there is also the biggest problem in determining the place of tourism as the subject of economic sciences.

In his chapter, Adam Jones addresses genocide as multi-dimensional crime. He describes two broad typologies of genocide – ‘gendercide’, and ‘root and branch genocide’, which are ‘distinguished by the different operations of the gender variable in each’. As Jones outlines, the Rwanda genocide evidenced broad range of gendered aspects – from leveraging ethnicized gender tropes, through the sometime employment of gender-based genocidal approaches (execution, rape), to the economic and social consequences (planned or not) that are the legacy of gendered genocide. ‘The “gendering” of a given genocide’, he concludes, ‘therefore encompasses the cultural configurations that influence the mobilisation of perpetrators and the targeting of victims, as well as the sexed bodies that are damaged or destroyed in genocidal campaigns’.

Abstract:
At the present time the analysis of tourist destinations in Russia within the framework of sustainable tourism is becoming increasingly important. And it is predetermined not only by the recognition of the credibility and usefulness of the sustainable tourism concept, but also by the raising awareness of broad medium- and longterm effects and externalities, as well as all interdisciplinary aspects of the tourism industry development in Russia and in its regions which need to be thoroughly studied for both academic and practical reasons. This article aspires to uncover a number of fundamental economic aspects of sustainable tourism in the context of regional destinations. The selection of a regional perspective is dictated by the fact that at this level are formed many of the most important prerequisites for sustainable long-term development of the tourist complex, specifically in terms of economically rational decision-making processes on the part of regional and local authorities and businesses. A major objective of the paper is to focus at least on the partial spectrum of the economic factors that must be borne in mind in the process of developing a strategic plan for sustainable development of a regional tourism destination in Russia. A broader economic interpretation of sustainable tourism, advocated in this study, goes beyond the relatively narrow scope of environmental and socio-economic impacts of tourism development; and it is relating to some less obvious economic aspects of destination development, but which are nevertheless directly related to the issues of sustainable development and are influential factors within this perspective. The two central blocks of economic factors of sustainable tourism development are structured, with description of their importance and main topics, specification of challenges and threats to regional destinations’ economic development. Some examples from Russian and world practices of preventing and addressing individual problems are analyzed. The first block includes the components of investment, funding, fiscal and budgetary nature. The second block consists of the aspects of the tourism industry’s organizational and structural features, the factors of production employed and interactions with other industries of the region and the outside world. And the analysis of economic issues of regional destinations’ sustainable development in the second section goes beyond the cluster approach, which is the predominant focus in Russian studies. Together, these two blocks of factors form the organizational and economic mechanism of the tourist complex, which it is advisable to develop on the basis of a full-fledged mainstreaming sustainable tourism.

The article is devoted to the consideration of aspects related to the development of the tourism and hospitality industry in Uzbekistan and Russia. It has been established that the intensive development of various forms of tourism and hospitality will allow these countries to be more attractive for foreign tourists. It has been found that when developing the tourism and hospitality market Uzbekistan and Russia are advised to review prospects of its development at the international level. Promising areas of the development in the tourism and hospitality industry will be a new system of enterprise classification regulating the rating of enterprises and encouraging tourism by simplifying visa regulations, applying discounts to attract regular and potential tourists, introducing educational programs in the tourism and hospitality sector combining theory and practice, and spurring the development of all regions as potential tourist destinations.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to carry out a comprehensive study on the peculiarities of theoretical and economic aspects of tourism industry development in Ukraine. Methodology. The complexity and specificity of the problems under study led to the use of a set of methodological tools, including general scientific and specific research methods, based on dialectical principles of objectivity and consistency, validity and comprehensiveness, logic and criticality. The descriptive (monographic) method made it possible to illuminate the discourse field of the chosen problems. The structural-functional method allowed to reveal the leading factors, factors and components of the formation of rapid tourism development in Ukraine. The comparative method made it possible to compare statistics on the visit of foreign tourists to Ukraine and the departure of Ukrainian citizens abroad. Results. The author also carried out a comprehensive analysis of the statistics of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and determined that there is a tendency to increase the tourist flow outside Ukraine due to the introduction of a visa-free regime for entry into the EU and a decrease in the flow. foreigners to Ukraine due to amendments to the Customs Code of Ukraine, which significantly complicates the duty-free crossing of goods across borders. It is justified that the market for tourist services is considered to be quite flexible because it is able to respond flexibly to changes in the external environment (economic, socio-demographic, political factors) and to changes in tourist demand and supply. The tourism sphere is one of the of the most effective sphere of Ukraine's economy because it not only contributes to the development of regions, but also accelerates the process of formation of the middle class in our country. Also, the tourism industry envisages an increase in the incomes of the population and an increase in the welfare of the nation, as a whole, through attracting foreign investment. This, in turn, increases part of the budget revenues through direct and indirect taxes (value added tax, import duty), the volume of which is one of the determining indicators for the existing business environment. In order to meet the growing demands of clients, travel agents and agents need to constantly research the market. Marketing research of the tourist services market and correction of the direction of tourist activity should be conducted in many directions. The scientific novelty of the work is that the systematization of scientific researches of the experience of forming the potential of the tourism industry, which distinguishes four main varieties of tourism products, namely: excursions, sports competitions, cultural and mass events and cultural festivals, the development of which promote economic development, is improved. , family-related, moral, ethnic and legal ties in conducting tourism business in Ukraine. The practical importance of the work lies in the possibility of further use of the proposed developments of the author for faster reproduction of labor resources through rest, improving the health of citizens and guests of the country, as well as for turning the resort business into a significant source of funds for the state and local budgets.

Abstract:
The tourism industry has an important role to improve economic and community welfare. In several regions, the industry boosts the regional economy as the main income source. Realizing this, the government has been currently trying to develop tourism potentials in their respective areas. North Sulawesi is one of the priorities for developing tourist destinations by the central government, and one of the tourist objects is Likupang. By setting Likupang as one of the priorities for developing tourist destinations, it will afford opportunities for the City of Manado to increase revenue from the tourism sector. Thus, a tourism management policy is needed to harmonize environmental, socio-cultural, and economic aspects. Manado City tourism management policy is assessed with The Exponential Comparison Method (MPE) by looking at the degree of importance based on experts’ opinions. Overall policy assessment refers to four aspects, namely environmental, socio-cultural, economic, and political aspects. Based on the weighting results, the availability of employment has the highest value. Meanwhile, for the assessment of alternative policies, the first integrated management policy between the main tourist objects around has the highest value.

This study investigates residents' attitudes to tourism impacts (marketing, culture etc.) on Fruška Gora Mountain (Serbia), within the larger framework of economic impacts. The correspondence analysis of the perception of local residents showed that residents have a generally positive attitude towards the development of tourism considering its economic aspects, and then the desk study show edjustification of positive attitudes, thus confirming the main hypothesis. According to the analysis of the opinions of the local residents, it was found that the local residents positively perceived economic impact of tourism in two aspects: through increase in number of employees (employment and self-employment) as well as through the development of the community. The development of tourism in any destination in evitably leads to an increase of domestic and foreign investment, which then leads to the construction of infrastructure and suprastructure facilities, the introduction of various tourist taxis, and if it is possible, as it is the case with Fruška Gora Mountain, it can lead to a successful cross-border cooperation.

Abstract:
There is a synergistic potential between heritage and tourism which can offer a type of special interest tourism. However, despite the potential, it also brings out conflicts that result in negative socio-cultural impacts. Therefore, sustainability issues should be considered in developing heritage tourism. There are three dimensions incorporate in Sustainable Development, which are environment, economic, and social. As sustainable tourism was derived from sustainable development, thus the three dimensions of sustainable development are also applied in sustainable tourism development, especially in sustainable heritage tourism. Generally, the relationships between the three aspects of sustainable development are assumed to be compatible and mutually supportive. However, among the three dimensions of sustainable development, social sustainability is the least developed and often is proposed in relation to ecological or economic sustainability. There have been efforts to address and incorporate the social dimension of sustainability into standard setters, planners, and practitioners in many diverse areas such as forest certification, organic agriculture, conventional agriculture, urban and regional planning, corporate social and environmental management, reporting, and responsibility and fair-trade certification. However, there are still few studies of the social dimension in tourism development. To achieve sustainable tourism development, we cannot neglect the social dimension and only focuses on the economic and environmental dimensions. Social sustainability is not absolute or constant which has to be considered as a dynamic concept, which will change over time in a place. The purpose of this study exploring the key aspects of sustainable tourism development social dimension which is linked to theoretical and on how we should define and understand the fluid concept of the social dimension in tourism sustainability that can also be applied in heritage tourism. This research is using a systematic literature review to identify social dimension aspects or themes of sustainable development, sustainable tourism development, and sustainable heritage tourism. The preliminary findings show that there are few studies of the social dimension of sustainable tourism development. Therefore, it is rather difficult to obtain related articles of the social dimension, especially in the tourism subject fields. To this point, 160 works of literature were obtained and after screening, assessing, and selecting against the criteria for eligibility, there were 19 pieces of literature selected. Selected literature was reviewed to explore how the social dimension aspect in sustainable development debates is variously understood and how it constructs a social pillar. This research compiles a cross-disciplinary major theoretical concept from sustainable development, sustainable tourism development, heritage tourism, political sociology, economic theory, social theory, governance, and urban development to build a new multi-dimensional inquiry into the subject of social sustainability. Thus, this research gives a comprehension of the aspects of social sustainability which contributes to the improvement of the fluid concept of social tourism sustainability, especially in heritage tourism.

Abstract:
The impact of globalization on the socio-economic development of the world and Ukraine is traced. The negative consequences of the process of globalization have been that it has become a huge challenge for humanity. According to the author, the biggest threats to the modern world include: the flow of excessive information, which often turns into information attacks; international terrorism, which threatens international tourism and the safe socio-economic development of many countries; negative natural phenomena in the form of climatic cataclysms and others. It has been studied that, in addition to the negative economic consequences, globalization can have an antisocial character. Globalization is actually destroying space and widening distances. Today, the key factor in overcoming the epidemic is social distance, the isolation of the individual. Quarantine is diametrically opposed to the «open society» that globalization and integration advocated at the time. It is determined that international tourism is a consequence of globalization processes is a form of international movement of human resources, has a mass character and is one of the leading highly profitable and most dynamic sectors of the world economy. It is revealed that globalization provides an opportunity for the development of various types of tourism, including professional and business, cultural, sports, medical, health tourism. In particular, health tourism is one of the important factors in shaping the country’s social security by strengthening the health of the population, replenishing the state budget, and attracting foreign investment in joint medical projects. To create a positive medical image of the country, the governments of many countries develop national programs for the development of medical tourism and allocate funds for its establishment. An important goal of international tourism is professional and business travel and «business tourism», among which the leading place is occupied by trips to international fairs and exhibitions. In the process of analysis on these issues used general scientific methods: historical and logical, analysis and synthesis, comparative, grouping, etc.

Tourism is one of the fastest growing industries in the world, and in mountain regions it can give rise to high expectations for development. It has the capacity to create jobs and extend services and products that support both tourists and local people alike in marginal areas.
