Abstract:
Tourism plays an important role in economic and human development in the Pacific. These benefits are at risk from the impacts of climate change, threatening the sustainability of the Pacific tourism sector. We assess the vulnerability and resilience of nature-based tourism in Vava’u, Tonga, using the Destination Sustainability Framework of Calgaro (2014) modified for a climate change focus. Our empirical assessment indicates that the following factors increase vulnerability levels in Vava’u: strong seasonality, dependency on air access, remoteness, limited connectivity of Vava’u from national decision makers and limited human and financial resources. Resilience levels in Vava’u are heightened by a high awareness of climate change, the resilient nature of Tongans and strong family and social networks. In conclusion, we recommend a set of adaptation strategies to further improve resilience levels, namely improving climate change education, increasing product and market diversification, strengthening institutional capacities and mainstreaming adaptation in national policies.

Abstract:
According to the main changes which take place in the field of organization of tourism nowadays, the free independent tourism should be considered as one of the most perspective directions of development not only of touristic area but also of area of hospitality, culture and leisure. Because of active development of free independent tourism the following positions have a special significance: the substantiation of methodological approaches to definite its essence; to study of backgrounds of becoming and development of this kind of tourism in Russia and abroad; to study not only the social and cultural aspects of free independent tourism as a popular kind of personal activity in leisure but also to disclose its specific features. The disclosing of essence and specifics of free independent tourism is very productive, at least, in two areas. On the one side, the free independent tourism represents the dynamics of consumer behavior in the changing economic conditions and leads to the greater independence from the touristic firms. On the other side, this kind of touristic activity has to be considered not only in the system of forms and directions of human leisure activity, but also as an instrument of satisfaction of wide spectrum of leisure needs and personal interest, and as a method of its enculturation. The characterization of basic features of free independent tourism, the definition of its essence and function in the context of social and cultural human activity disclose the new perspectives for all-round systemic study of conditions of functioning of this kind of tourism and its further development. The free independent tourism will evolve steadily and rapidly as one of kind of leisure industry, which is directed to satisfy and to develop the personal needs for spiritual and cultural development, cognition, communication and recreation. The social and cultural content is a qualitative characteristic of free independent tourism and the most important method which allows joining the tourists with culture, to develop and to generate their new spiritual needs.

necessary to ensure the livelihoods of those leaving the agricultural sector and to supplement the incomes of those working in agriculture. I research rural development in four settlements in Hajdú-Bihar County, in Balmazújváros, Hortobágy, Tiszacsege and Egyek, all bordering Hortobágy National Park. There are many alternative income sources in settlements in the Hortobágy area, such as organic farming, production herbs, hungaricums, small animals and arts and crafts, as well as rural tourism. Rural tourism is not for subsistence, but a supplementary income source, mainly available during the summer time. I made a survey of rural hosts in the four examined settlements, and according to my results, I constructed a model reflecting the cost-benefit relation, as well as the payment period conditions of rural tourism. I am going to show whether it is worth dealing with rural tourism, and if yes, under what conditions. Rural tourism contributes to the maintenance of rural modes of living, in this way it has significant cultural, economic, ecological and social aspects, as well. It is crucial for settlements to create the appropriate conditions needed for joining rural tourism, if it is worth joining at all, and to realise investments for all these. Rural tourism has strict requirements for the levels of environment, infrastructure and services. Studying the Western-European practices, Hungary is lagged behind in the conditions of rural tourism and rural hosts have done their activities mainly out of necessity and not to maintain traditions. Rural tourism may result in success only by co-operation and over the long-run.

Abstract:
There is a synergistic potential between heritage and tourism which can offer a type of special interest tourism. However, despite the potential, it also brings out conflicts that result in negative socio-cultural impacts. Therefore, sustainability issues should be considered in developing heritage tourism. There are three dimensions incorporate in Sustainable Development, which are environment, economic, and social. As sustainable tourism was derived from sustainable development, thus the three dimensions of sustainable development are also applied in sustainable tourism development, especially in sustainable heritage tourism. Generally, the relationships between the three aspects of sustainable development are assumed to be compatible and mutually supportive. However, among the three dimensions of sustainable development, social sustainability is the least developed and often is proposed in relation to ecological or economic sustainability. There have been efforts to address and incorporate the social dimension of sustainability into standard setters, planners, and practitioners in many diverse areas such as forest certification, organic agriculture, conventional agriculture, urban and regional planning, corporate social and environmental management, reporting, and responsibility and fair-trade certification. However, there are still few studies of the social dimension in tourism development. To achieve sustainable tourism development, we cannot neglect the social dimension and only focuses on the economic and environmental dimensions. Social sustainability is not absolute or constant which has to be considered as a dynamic concept, which will change over time in a place. The purpose of this study exploring the key aspects of sustainable tourism development social dimension which is linked to theoretical and on how we should define and understand the fluid concept of the social dimension in tourism sustainability that can also be applied in heritage tourism. This research is using a systematic literature review to identify social dimension aspects or themes of sustainable development, sustainable tourism development, and sustainable heritage tourism. The preliminary findings show that there are few studies of the social dimension of sustainable tourism development. Therefore, it is rather difficult to obtain related articles of the social dimension, especially in the tourism subject fields. To this point, 160 works of literature were obtained and after screening, assessing, and selecting against the criteria for eligibility, there were 19 pieces of literature selected. Selected literature was reviewed to explore how the social dimension aspect in sustainable development debates is variously understood and how it constructs a social pillar. This research compiles a cross-disciplinary major theoretical concept from sustainable development, sustainable tourism development, heritage tourism, political sociology, economic theory, social theory, governance, and urban development to build a new multi-dimensional inquiry into the subject of social sustainability. Thus, this research gives a comprehension of the aspects of social sustainability which contributes to the improvement of the fluid concept of social tourism sustainability, especially in heritage tourism.

Abstract:
The scientific and practical problems of investment and social development of the tourist industry are investigated. The analysis of condition and tendencies of investment processes development in tourism branch is carried out, as well as priority directions of investment in the national industry of tourism are revealed. It is established that successful development of the tourism industry is impossible without active influence of the state on conditions of its functioning. Participation of the state will consist in development of the actions containing the following: establishment of tax privileges, protection against the double taxation; sale, rent of the ground or objects of infrastructure priced below market rates; direct grants, granting of guarantees under investments with the purpose of attraction of foreign investors. The system of actions in context of creation of the favorable investment environment in tourism sphere is offered. It include establishment of the rate of profit tax for priority directions of activity (incoming and internal tourism); tax exemption of means invested in construction or reconstruction of tourism objects; credit relaxation for making investments with indemnification of difference in rates by the state for firms focused on incoming and internal tourism; adjustment of investment insurance system in tourism and so forth. Complex model of maintenance of tourism industry competitiveness, which takes into account system action of the investment factors providing functioning and development of economic subjects at horizontal level (technologies, infrastructure, competition, demand, adjacent branches), is developed. The given factors are included in uniform vertical of management (national economy - tourism - regional tourist complex - tourism enterprise) and are subordinated to the strategic purpose - to maintenance of tourism sphere competitiveness in system of national economy of the Russian Federation. It is proved that maintenance of steady development of the tourism industry appreciably should be based on infrastructure modernization of tourism and recreational sphere. It is necessary to introduce the special investment mode for assistance to construction and reconstruction of hotels and other objects of a tourism infrastructure that will induce foreign and domestic investors to put means in the tourism industry.

Abstract:
The contemporary relevance of ensuring sustainable rural development stems from the growing economic and social backwardness of rural territories on the one hand, and their ultimate importance for the state in the context of food security, preservation of soil and environmental resources, and the use of agricultural, production and labour potentials on the other hand. One of the key conditions for sustainable rural development is population strength- ening in rural areas and its sufficient employment. The article analyzes the current demographic problems of rural development, based on the example of Stavropol region. The authors describe threats to sustainable rural development such as unemployment and depopulation, as well as substantiate the practicality of diversification of traditional rural sources of income by means of tourism and other alternative activities. The research is performed on the base of actual materials and the results of studies related to the rural tourism development, and also using the authors´ observations. The authors have used monographic, sociological, economicstatistical methods of research, the systematic approach and comprehensive analysis. Rural tourism today should be seen as an important development direction of entrepreneurship and diversification in rural areas, as one of the important areas of sustainable development, and as a form and the chance of economic, social and cultural revitalization of rural areas as a whole. This makes the study of essence and prospects of this business direction development of high priority.

Abstract:
Since the beginning of the 21st century, the European Union tourism policy has been increasingly focused on initiatives in the field of social tourism, which are one of the ways of achieving sustainable development in the European tourism economy. Most of the research projects that have so far been conducted in the field have focused on the benefits for its participants (subjective one: Children and youths, seniors, disabled people, people (families) with low incomes and/or unemployed, big families). However, there is a lack of research on the analysis of the place of social aspects of tourism in the general socio-economic policy of the state and, in a detailed aspect, in the sectoral policy represented by tourism policy, as well as its potential impact on the development of the national economy and meeting tourism needs of the society. The authors tried to fill this research gap in this study. The aim of the study is to differentiate the issues related to the social aspects of tourism policy from the entire socio-economic policy pursued in the European Union and selected member states (Poland and Slovakia). The article is of a theoretical–analytical–conceptual nature. Empirical research, due to the nature of its issues, was conducted with the use of qualitative research methods. The results of the conducted research showed that activities in the field of social tourism policy are conditioned by organizational solutions for the entities that undertake them, as well as economic ones, especially in the field of financing. Moreover, they made it possible to propose the concept of a model social tourism policy with an indication of its place in the European policy on the basis of the past and future EU financial perspectives.

In the second part of the work the author analyzes the major adverse environmental and social and economic impacts of the development of various types of nature -oriented tourism. In terms of the tourism impact on the environment the article presents a specific list of effects on soil, water bodies, wildlife, plants, and also discusses the changes in the landscape aesthetic qualities and sanitary conditions. Like any other kind of human impact, the nature-oriented tourism may have a significant adverse environment impact. It could lead to changes in geological formations, consisting of soil and growing plants on the territory, and could cause a reduction in the population of animals and insects. Abstract:
The research is devoted to the disclosure of socio-economic aspects of cross- border cooperation in the field of tourism of Ukraine and Poland, which is important in today’s conditions of development of globalization processes and transformation of social relations. Such relationships are formed between people in different geographic areas, which determine their social mood and social behaviour. The signing of the visa-free travel agreement between Ukraine and the EU on 17 May 2017 and its entry into force on 11 June 2017 has become an important factor in the development of tourism in Ukraine and Poland, in particular within the border areas and in the context of cross-border cooperation of the Carpathian Euroregion. Tourists from Ukraine have better opportunities than before to travel to many European countries, and tourist migration contributes to the integration of peoples, building good-neighbourly relations and tolerance, economic, cultural, scientific and other forms of cooperation. That is why it is necessary to study the socio-economic aspects of the development of tourism in Ukraine and Poland at the level of the Carpathian Euroregion. The attention of the authors of this article is devoted to the study of the historical and cultural heritage of the four regions of Ukraine and the counties of Poland included in the Carpathian Euroregion as one of the important factors influencing the development of tourism. The article analyzes a number of key indicators of the activity of the subjects of the tourist market and the trends in their changes, as well as the geographical structure of tourist flows and the administrative and territorial division of the regions of the Ukrainian-Polish transboundary. Positive trends in the growth of a number of key indicators of tourism activity in Lviv region give reason to assert the high level of activity of tourism services market participants and that Lviv region has good preconditions for the development of many types of tourism , which can increase the flow of revenue to local budgets. Statistical materials of the Main Department of Statistics in Lviv Oblast have also made it possible to analyze the indicators for those areas that are part of the Carpathian Euroregion and characterize the specifics of the development of the tourism sector. It is proposed to form an updated marketing strategy for tourism management in Ukraine in the context of the changing conditions that have taken place in the tourist services market after the entry into force of the visa-free travel agreement between Ukraine and the EU, which will positively influence the development of tourism in Ukraine and Poland at the level of the Carpathian Euroregion.

Teaching English for specific purposes (ESP), which is in contrast with English for Academic purposes (EAP), has gained specially great attention since 1960’s. One of the examples of ESP is English for guiding. The main purpose of implementing English for guiding in some schools or collages is to give the students ability to communicate mainly orally so as to be able to fulfil the student’s need for his or her future carreer or job in tourism. In reality very often cultural misunderstandings which may pruduce fatal consequencies emerge among those who are involved in tourism industry. Due to this circumstance, inserting sosio-cultural aspects in the teacher’s languge teaching interaction is indeed beneficial. In this case, the role of the teacher to include edequate cultural aspects in language teaching, beside giving formal gramatical language forms, of course is highly worth considering. Teaching English for tourism industry is not regarded appropriate yet if sosio-cultural aspects are not adequately included. In other words, beside teaching the language forms, English teacher should incorporate sosio-cultural aspects into his interaction. Futhermore, materials for English for guiding is carefully selected which are based on carefull analysis of the course objectives. The implication of analysing teaching materilas intended for tour guide is expected that the outcomes of the institution or graduates are truly matched with the available jobs in job markets

Abstract:
Many fishermen in Indonesia have not fully utilized marine resources properly. However, the government has several ways to improve the welfare of fishermen in other sectors than the fisheries; one of them is connecting between fishermen, coastal and tourism. Meninting of West Lombok is a strategic coastal village for the tourism sector. This village has started to develop tourist destinations since 2011, unfortunately, there is no data on fishermen as a real interest group. This study develops a research pattern on fishing communities which generally discusses the social resources of fishermen and the political aspects of fishing communities separately. This study used a qualitative approach to the social mapping method. Data obtained through interviews and observations of purposively selected informants. The data related to fishermen resources are in maps, followed by an analysis of their accessibility to policy. Spatial aspects strengthen their social resources, interests, and accessibilities to coastal tourism development. The results show that the social resources of fishermen of Meninting Village are unevenly distributed in five dusun (sub-villages). Indicators shown are; capital ownership, mastery of knowledge and skills, ownership of production equipment, use of science and technology, ability to diversify production, fishermen's sociopolitical relations and ability to recognize the economic prospects of coastal tourism. Fishermen who live in areas directly facing the sea have better social resources and firmer interests in coastal development. The accessibility of fishing groups is limited in the development policy. Only fishermen in sub-village located in a coastal area can show themselves as defenders. While the fishermen who live far from the beach tend to be latent or even apathetic. This study recommends the need for other social mapping studies on the characteristics of coastal communities and the need for the government to use the social mapping information of fishing communities to formulate policies that contain regional aspects in coastal tourism development.

It is shown that this type of tourism is new, so it does not appear in any of existing regulations. The authors have attempted to give a definition of this type of tourism; show its main consumers. Presented are the factors that affect the emergence and development of photo-tourism. As part of this work the classification of photo tours is suggested, which provides information on the basic criteria required for forming such tours. These criteria include: the age of tourists, comfort level, duration of the tour, the form of the tour, as well as the objects for making photos. The optimal number of participants in the photo tour is determined as 1-3 people for individual tours and 3-8 for group tours). The authors prove the possibility of the development of photo-tourism in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District. To do this, an analysis of the main indicators of tourism development in the region is conducted and identified are tourist resources necessary for the development of photo-tourism. The main problems hindering the development of photo-tourism in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, and their solutions are also suggested. In conclusion, it is concluded that the photo-tourism, of course, is not a mass form of tourism, so tourist traffic statistics are not kept, since the number of arrivals with objectives of photo-tourism is insignificant. Currently, however, for most tourists mass tourism programs and direction are becoming unpopular, and in this regard popularization of unusual and unfamiliar forms of recreation, including photo-tourism, is increasing. Thanks to advances in technologies, promotion of social networks and advances in Internet photo art is now considered "fashionable". All this must surely affect the development of photo-tourism, in particular in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District.

Purpose – This paper strives for stressing the need for tourism enterprises' (TEs') policy/governance innovation towards more social responsibility for stimulating their competitiveness. The purpose is to develop suggested content-related guidelines for developing social responsible TE policy and to show the practical implementation guidance for implementation of the theoretical research. According to the authors' knowledge, this has not yet been researched in the field of tourism industry (TIN). Design/methodology/approach – The MER model of integral management has been upgraded by Mulej's Dialectical Systems Theory. The authors considered all relevant and only the essential aspects needed for a requisitely holistic approach towards developing the guidelines for innovating the TEs' policy/governance. Findings – Innovation of TEs' policy/governance is possible only with the requisitely holistic and dialectical approach. TEs that will be able to track the suggested guidelines of tourism policy/governance innovation towards holism, systemic thinking, social responsibility, and sustainable tourism are more likely to succeed. Therefore, the stimulating of competitiveness and innovation of the TIN can be achieved through enterprises' policy/governance innovation that the authors suggested. Practical implications – The TEs can establish socially (and otherwise) responsible enterprise policy/governance in accordance with the recommendations developed here. Originality/value – The given suggestions are not known in available literature. The paper exposes the need for holism and consistency of TEs' development potential and interdependently examines the overlaying areas of TEs' policy/governance, social responsibility, and holism/wholeness. The Dialectical Systems Theory systemic approach exposes the need to innovate enterprise policy/governance, if humankind is to survive.

Abstract:
Tourism is playing an important role in the economic development of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (QTP). To better develop tourism in this region, the spatial heterogeneity of influencing factors on tourism needs to be studied. Using the spatial distribution of tourism potential from social media data, this paper analyzes the influencing factors of tourism on the QTP from the perspective of spatial heterogeneity. We extract microblogs related to travel topics connected to the QTP in 2017 from Sina Weibo to capture tourism potential. Then, factors considered from six aspects (tourism resources, amenities, transportation, geography, population, and the economy) are selected, and a geographic detector (Geodetector) is employed to detect the explanatory power of these factors for tourism potential. The results indicate different influential tourism factors in Qinghai and Tibet. In Qinghai, the main factors are hotels, tourist attractions, and road network density, and the explanatory power of the factors mainly comes from eastern and western Qinghai. In Tibet, the main factors are road network density, regional GDP (Gross Domestic Product), and urban land. It is suggested that tourism in the central region of Qinghai can be improved by enhancing the publicity and utilization of tourism resources, and Tibet should enhance tourism resource utilization and improve tourism amenities and infrastructure.

Abstract:
The modern pop-culturization of All Saints’ Day has encouraged the author to explore the profane sphere of this festival, using selected examples from Łódź cemeteries, as well as to write a short comparative description of a Latin American festival honouring the dead celebrated in early November. In the 20th century, visiting cemeteries in Poland on 1st November acquired some attributes of recreation and cultural tourism, visible in the atmosphere of a country fair and the ludic character of the cemetery surroundings, as well as the visitors’ commemorative, contemplative and cognitive motivations. Due to cultural changes, All Saints’ Day is increasingly perceived as a tourist event or even a cultural tourism product. The article presents a comparative description of the All Saints’ Day celebrations in Poland and the Day of the Dead in Latin America, and an analysis of visitors at selected Łódź cemeteries along with a description of the cemetery surroundings on 1st November 2019. The author has used unpublished research results from 2004, as well as discussing the secular and recreational aspects of All Saints’ Day.

Abstract:
AbstractWhen looking at the increase of tourism in a destination, it can be said that tourism is a valuable part of the economy. The proposal offered by today’s competitive paradigm: that higher the number of tourists visiting a city, the higher the income, sounds good at first. The increased number of tourist arrivals gives the appearance of increasing desirability of the city. Parallel with the increased tourism activities, new buildings, new lifestyles, foreign capital and new socio-economic relationships appear rapidly and replace the traditional ones. However, there will be a huge amount of social, cultural, economic and environmental problems faced by the local people as well as the tourists the city. Tourism paradox is the name given to the phenomenon where tourism industry destroys natural and cultural environment in a destination that is necessary for tourism activities. On the other hand the balance, which does not change and disturbs the social and economic relations at the destination is called “tourism equinox”. Therefore, spatial reorganization and urban regeneration play a crucial role for the marketing of cities and this transformation action affects all infrastructure facilities, restorations of old buildings, reorganization of historical zones, and revitalizing the architectural style of the cities. New projects and approaches to solve the problems caused by the growth of urban populations and to establish healthy sustainable tourism destinations are becoming more important than ever. Tourism detox is a treatment that is intended to remove harmful substances from these destinations. This paper investigates the influence of tourism paradox and tourism equinox on urban environments in relation to tourism activities and the protection of natural and cultural resources with the help of tourism detox. It primarily relies on qualitative research to understand the main futures of tourism paradox, equinox and detox taking the physical and environmental aspects of urban environments into consideration. As research methodology a literature review and the sources of secondary data were used.

Abstract:
Tourism is an authoritative branch in the socio-economic expansion in present-day epochs, backing diverse ways and reinforces the inter-connected processes. The development of tourism prompts changes, directly or indirectly in the social atmosphere of a destination. Changes in the social and economic fabric of particular towns, regions and even countries can be attributed directly to the advent of tourism and tourists. In light of these aspects, the social carrying capacity approaches involve using attitudes and tolerance levels of the host population to set limits on tourism development. This paper is a theoretical approach that throws light to the sociological perception of tourism with respect to carrying capacity thereby integrating the contemplations and criticisms regarding this subject.
