Abstract:
This study aims to analyze the impact of tour guides' interpersonal communication on tourists' experiences at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), with tourist satisfaction as a moderating variable. The research uses a quantitative method with a descriptive and causal design. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to 200 tourists visiting TMII who were directly involved in guided tours. The data analysis technique used is Smart PLS to test the relationships between variables. The results show that interpersonal communication of tour guides has a positive and significant effect on tourists' experiences, and tourist satisfaction serves as a moderating variable that strengthens this relationship. Open, friendly, and clear communication from the tour guide can enhance tourist satisfaction, which in turn improves tourists' experiences. This study concludes that the quality of communication between tour guides and tourists plays a crucial role in creating a memorable and satisfying tourism experience. Recommendations for TMII management include placing more emphasis on interpersonal communication training for tour guides and optimizing the system for measuring tourist satisfaction. Tour guides are encouraged to continuously improve their communication skills, while tourists are advised to actively participate in interactions with tour guides for a more enriching tourism experience. Abstract:
An important role played by tour guides on group tours is to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip; however, research focusing on their role in the field of tourism is still limited. Among tourists' behavioural intentions and satisfaction with tour guides, this study demonstrates the new role of tour guiding service quality. The data were obtained from 317 Vietnamese tourists who participated in domestic package tours. A positive correlation has been found between the tour guide's performance and the level of tourist satisfaction, as well as between tourist travel intentions and the quality of the tour guide's service. There is a substantial correlation between tourist satisfaction and tour guide performance, with service quality as an effective mediator in this relationship. The results provide insight into practical implications for tour guides to improve their capabilities and show how important tour guides are in group package tours. Tour operators need to enhance tour guide services and performance to maximize tourist satisfaction and optimistic tourist behaviour intention.

Abstract:
The article aims to show the dissonant heritage of Opole from the perspective of tourist guides. Its first section shows the dissonant heritage in relation to tourism, especially cultural tourism, heritage tourism and dark tourism. The role of the tourist guide in constructing narratives about difficult heritage is then considered. Empirically, the article endeavours to identify the elements of Opole’s dissonant heritage discerned by tourist guides, and the ways of telling tourists about them. Ten qualitative interviews were conducted with Opole guides. Analysis of the narratives reveals that the dissonant heritage of Opole is perceived by the guides from several perspectives. This primarily means their own, entangled in the social characteristics of the guide (e.g. national identity), in the context of the specificity of the group that the guide is showing round, and in the context of their reactions to the guide’s stories or sites visited.

Abstract:
The role of the tour guide is very important and very much determines the success of the tourists who will visit. With a professional tour guide, tourists who visit will bring a good impression. A good guide is the one who usually guides and takes tourists to tourist objects by paying attention to charm, courtesy and honesty. For this reason, tourist visits feel at home or not apart from objects, but what is equally important is the role of tour guides. A tour guide is a person in charge of providing guidance, information and directions on attractions or dimensions. However, during the covid-19 epidemic, the world of tourism suffered a heavy blow where all tourism sectors were severely affected which in turn would affect the Tour Guide. Therefore, the tour guides are required to be more creative and innovative by contributing all their thoughts so that they can survive in the covid-19 epidemic situation. Tour guides cannot be separated from the world of Air Transportation, because in the Tanjung Pinang City Tour Guide Capacity Building, resource persons provide material about Travel & Airlines Terminology from the perspective of the world of tourism. Thus, it can increase the understanding of tour guides about the world of aviation, so as to be able to provide satisfying services to tourists.

Abstract:
In the digital age the internet and the ICT devices changed our daily life and routines. It means we couldn‟t live without these services and devices anywhere (work, home, holiday, etc.). It can be experienced in the tourism sector; digital contents become key tools in the tourism of the 21st century; they will be able to adapt the traditional tourist guide methodology to the applications running on novel digital devices. Tourists belong to a new generation, an "ICT generation" using innovative tools, a new info-media to communicate. A possible direction for tourism development is to use modern ICT systems and devices. Besides participating in classical tours guided by travel guides, there is a new opportunity for individual tourists to enjoy high quality ICT based guided walks prepared on the knowledge of travel guides. The main idea of the GUIDE@HAND service is to use reusable, and create new tourism contents for an advanced mobile device, in order to give a contemporary answer to traditional systems of tourism information, by developing new tourism services based on digital contents for innovative mobile applications. The service is based on a new concept of enhancing territorial heritage and values, through knowledge, innovation, languages and multilingual solutions going along with new tourists‟ “sensitiveness”.

<p class="Keyword">Being capital of Indonesia, Jakarta is the center of government, trade and business. It is also the largest city in Indonesia that has large shopping centers that is why it has become the paradise for tourists who love to shop. Yet it has tourist places with cultural values that are as interesting as shops. It is regrettable that this is not well known by tourists. It is necessary that they have a tourist guide on Jakarta. A tourist guide or travel guide is a book that contains information about specific places, a region or a country and that can help tourists to make the discovery. It also makes it easier for them to find important, simple but useful information. In addition, it is a means to promote a country’s tourism wealth. Abstract:
AbstractThe market of tourists with disabilities consists of a sizeable percentage of total tourism and is rapidly growing globally but little is known about tour guides experiences with them. These tourists with disabilities seem to have less holiday offers thereby reducing the frequency of tour guide encounters with them. While most tourism literature supports tour guides and their contribution to tourist experience, very little research is done in developing countries to show experiences of tour guides with tourists with disabilities. There is a knowledge gap of how the interactions between the guide and tourists with disabilities participating in the guided tours influence the tour guides’ experience. Using face to face interviews and focus group discussions with tour guides the study sought to establish people with disabilities types of holidays, concerns they raise during tours and challenges encountered by tour guides when touring with PwD. Non-probability, namely convenience and judgemental sampling methods were followed to pick tour guides from museums and national parks. Study results revealed the activities that tour guides are offering people with disabilities, guides’ own choice of activities for tourists with disabilities and the challenges faced by tour guides in the provision of those activities. The study concludes that the guiding industry has inadequate information about tourists with disabilities and thus is failing to fully serve the market. Lastly the study provides a set of recommendations that can be used by the tour guiding industry in order to effectively serve the market of tourists with disabilities.

Temajuk Tourism Village in the tail of Kalimantan is one of the popular tourist destinations in West Kalimantan. The main tourist attraction in Temajuk Village is the beach. But apart from the beach, this village has many potential natural and cultural tourism attractions and has a strategic location because it borders Malaysia on land and at sea. The relatively increasing number of visits raises new problems, namely the lack of human resources for tour guide services that are able to provide satisfaction and memorable experiences for tourists. The purpose of this mentoring is to prepare local tour guide resources who are able to lead, guide, and tell stories to tourists either on a group or individual scale. This mentoring method uses experiential learning, which means that in addition to being given material, participants will also do simulations to get real experience. As a result, the resources of tour guides, which previously only came from Pokdarwis members, have now increased with the joining of youth organisation members. The ability to guide groups and tell stories to tourists has been obtained and participants are also able to make local tour packages.

Studies in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) often focus on researching English needs in the context of commercial tourist attraction areas. Little research has been done in addressing the English needs of community-based tourism (CBT). This study aims to investigate the English needs, specifically the English communicative skills of tourist guides on Untung Jawa island. The investigation is a mixed-method study. Data was collected using a survey questionnaire, interviews, and observation (job shadowing). Twenty-two (22) participants responded to the questionnaire and two tourist guides were interviewed. Job shadowing was also conducted with two tourist guides to record the communicative functions often used in their professional practice. Findings indicated that spoken English communicative function was not an immediate need for the tourist guides considering the little encounter with international tourists. There are some indications that written form of English may be needed in their tourist area. The results imply that the tourist guide needs scripted text that they can use in specific communicative events.

Abstract:
In Kosovo, tourism and legislation, despite positive developments for this economic activity, are not at the level of the standards required in the European Union. More specifically, in contrast to other countries, in Kosovo the activity of tourist guides is regulated only within the Law on Tourism and until now no by-laws have been issued to operationalize this specific activity. In the modern conditions of tourism developments, this fact can be one of the obstacles that in reality increases the safety of tourists to visit the tourist resources of our country and produces other negative financial, social, etc. implications. The paper starts from the definition of the term tourist guide, which has also been accepted at the EU level. This model should be the basis of providing a short narrative for the development of the country's tourist guide by analyzing and urgently completing the current legal basis for tourism. The work in a limited way highlights some problematic issues in the beginning and operation of this activity, especially in the sphere of professional certifications and adequate training, including in this direction, the advocacy for the application of the new European standard EN 15565 in Kosovo as well.

The main challenge for adventure tourism guides’ is group management in wilderness environments. Eating studies of mountaineers have linked physiological changes to environmental conditions. Research on tourist guides described their role in tourism activities and on tourist-guide, employer-guide or guide-guide interactions. Although studies on food and mountaineers have addressed issues such as the influence of food intake on hikers’ bodies, guides’ strategies to prepare themselves to work have seen little research. This qualitative study used in-depth interviews with six male professional mountain guides, on drinking and eating behavior prior to ascent to the Volcán Nevado de Colima National Park. Abstract:
Utilizing transaction-specific customer satisfaction theory within tourism marketing, this research investigates how tour services elicit international tourists' satisfaction and contribute to tourists' loyalty to a destination. The research was conducted using 356 international tourists visiting destination sites in Cape Coast who answered questions regarding tour services: accommodation, food services, tour guide performance, souvenir shopping, and community interaction. Structural equation modeling was used to test the six proposed hypotheses based on validated survey data from the tourists. The data revealed that community interactions, souvenir shopping, and accommodation had positive effects while food services and tour guide performance negatively influenced international tourist satisfaction. Additionally, tourist satisfaction had a positive effect on tourist loyalty. The results suggest that effective tour services encounter and tourist satisfaction can promote local city economies at destination via recommendations or revisitation of international tourists due to their memorable and unforgettable experiences. Again, the outcome of this research validates the usefulness of the transaction-specific customer satisfaction theory within city tourism literature and will help tourism officials, city managers, city developers, businesses, and tourism practitioners to have a better understanding of the studied core tour services within context.

Abstract:
This research aims to build a tourism service recommendation system by providing recommendations for tour guides and tourism destinations using machine learning recommendation system methods. The recommendation system method in this research uses the demographic filtering method to recommend tour guides using a model with three stages, namely filtering, scoring and sorting the tour guide data category. At the scoring stage, it is carried out using a decision-making system method using the Simple Additive Weighting method to weight the tour guide value with the weighting value of each criterion in the tour guide data. This research also applies a content-based filtering method using a model with two stages, namely training and recommendation. The training stage uses tf-idf weighting and the recommendation stage uses cosine similarity to recommend tourism spots based on the similarity of metadata for each item. In using the recommendation system, the data will focus on collecting tour guide data and data on tourist attractions selected by the user. This data will be processed by a recommendation system using demographic filtering and content-based filtering methods. Through the Simple Additive Weighting method in demographic filtering and tf-idf weighting with consistent similarity in content-based filtering, this research found personalized recommendation results so that the level of accuracy of the recommendation results becomes more personal and accurate. The results of this research provide a recommendation system for tourist guides and tourist attractions which is implemented into an Android-based mobile application that can be used to meet tourists' needs.

Abstract:
The purpose of the study is to consider professional accreditation of tour guides as an important mechanism for improving and maintaining the overall image of tourist destinations, analyze the main current world types of guide certification and then present another certification model as a mechanism for improving the quality of services provided. The first part of the article describes the results of a publications review and the results of an empirical study of guide accreditation programs. In countries with developed tourism, there is no single approach to the accreditation of guides, and governmental institutions, together with professional communities, decide if it is mandatory. In its second part, the article overviews the approaches to the accreditation of guides in some regions of the Russian Federation. The necessity to regulate the market of guided tour services is certain since poor quality services develop a negative impression of travel destinations, and only professionally trained guides can tell a good story about a particular place or object. The lack of government regulation in the provision of services by tour guides has resulted in a significant proportion of incompetent people who often form a negative impression on tourists. This undoubtedly affects both the brand of tourist destinations in the eyes of current and potential visitors, and economic indicators, since an insufficient influx of tourists does not encourage the development of destinations. The value of the work lies in systematizing the international practices of individual tourist destinations, examining the experience of tour guides in the Russian Federation, and analyzing the legal framework of guided tours. This study contributes to a better understanding of the need to introduce the process of accreditation of guides in the Russian Federation.

Realizing this fact, the government of Trenggalek has set a target to develop 100 tourist villages in Trenggalek by 2024. Tourist villages are now becoming one of the main attractions in Trenggalek. To make the villages more known and visited by tourists, some support is needed, one of which is the involvement of tour guides skilled in using English. Therefore, the community service team from UPN "Veteran" Jawa Timur under the scheme PIKAT (Pemanfaatan Ipteks Bagi Masyarakat = Utilization of Science and Technology for Society) held an English for Tour Guide program in Pandean Village, Dongko Sub-district, Trenggalek. Supported by the Department of Tourism and Culture of Trenggalek. This program has been held since July and is still running. The service program consists of three main activities, namely: (1) preparation, debriefing, and pre-departure; (2) implementation; and (3) evaluation. The tour guides joined and attended the program enthusiastically. They were actively involved in the discussions, sharing sessions, and role-plays. It is expected that this program can be impactful for tour guides in tourist villages in Trenggalek and can be extended in a broader scope in the future. In addition, more tourists are interested in visiting Trenggalek, from East Java and around Indonesia.

Abstract:
Kurenai Beach is a tourist destination on the coast of Tomini Bay, Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo Province. This beach has fine white sand and stretches quite wide, allowing various beach tourism activities to be carried out. It is essential to measure tourist perceptions of a tourist destination because tourist perception is a form of assessment of the existence of tourism that aims at the development of future destinations and helps guide beach managers to make decisions in pursuit of sustainable beach tourism. Some factors that influence tourists' perception of choosing a beach include attractions, accessibility, and amenities. This research aims to provide scientific information on tourists' perceptions of the Kurenai Beach tourist area as a first step towards sustainable tourism management. Tourist perceptions were obtained through incidental interviews with 120 tourists. Tourist perception is measured on five components: the physical condition of facilities and infrastructure, accessibility, tourist attraction, tourist infrastructure, and the quality of tourist areas. Data analysis in this study used the Likert scale to determine tourists' perception of the existing conditions of Kurenai Beach tourism. The results showed that, in general, tourists' perceptions of the current conditions of Kurenai Beach tourism were on good criteria, with a total percentage value of 67.4%. The tourist attraction component has the highest perception value, and the physical condition component of facilities and infrastructure has the lowest perception value. The low achievement of the value of tourist perception of the existing condition of Kurenai Beach needs special attention in the context of the sustainability of this tourism in the future.

The study employs a rigorous library research methodology, reviewing various academic literature, including books, training material, and prior research. Additionally, observational analyses of the tourist guide training process are conducted to determine its correlation with contemporary violence involving tourist guides. The research recommends that relevant institutions adapt the existing training curriculum by integrating additional instructional material on Pancasila values and their practical application within the nuanced context of the tourism industry. Addressing this issue, the study, particularly within the Indonesian Tourist Guide Association, contributes significantly to the scholarly discourse on countering extremism and violence.

Abstract:
This study conducted a graphic symbol design study on the use of graphic symbols designated as the national standard KS S ISO 7001. The tourist information map production guide issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism suggests the notation according to the public guide picture cover (KS) of the National Agency for Technology and Standards of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy as a rule. As a result of the analysis, graphic symbols used in 14 tourist guide maps were extracted by collecting 17 regional tourist guide maps issued in 2023. It was classified into four types of customary types. Among the 14 regions, it was confirmed that the Gangwon-do tourist information map applied standardized graphic symbols, Incheon, Gwangju, and Ulsan 3 regions used custom-type symbols, and other regions used 4 types of mixed-applied graphic symbols. Metropolitan municipalities and designers must comply with the application of the public guide picture sign (KS) to deliver uniformity and consistent messages to domestic and foreign tourists. This study presents the current status of using graphic symbols on tourist guide maps according to the KS marking principle, and expects them to be used as basic data for designers who design tour guide maps.
