Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to improve students' linguistic abilities in English through the Team Game Tournament (TGT) methodology. The driving force behind this inquiry stems from the less-than-ideal level of English proficiency detected among the eleventh graders of the science program at SMA Negeri 1 Malaka Barat throughout the 2022/2023 academic year. The study group consisted of 31 students enrolled in the grade eleven science program, part one. It is reasonable to assume that certain obstacles can be seen in efforts to increase linguistic talent, among them the utilization of linguisti

Characterizing fish communities must be a priority to safeguard resources and determine critical changes. Here, species richness and the spatial and temporal evolution in the structure of fish assemblages were analysed based on photos taken in underwater free-diving contests. A total of 29 contests held from 2008 to 2015 at four different locations along the northeastern Spanish coast, including a marine protected area were analysed. Contests reward the number of species per participant and photographic quality. Species image frequency from each tournament were standardized to catch image rate

Abstract Long-term continuous datasets that record fishery catch are key to predicting and managing changes in fisheries. Unfortunately, long-term datasets are rare for recreational fisheries, which hinders our ability to understand long-term changes within these fisheries. Here we use several unconventional long-term datasets, including tournament and tagging program data, to assess changes in catch composition over time in the Australian east coast marlin fishery. We found significant changes to the species and size composition of species within the fishery over time. In the 1930s, catch was

Abstract.—Fishing tournaments are high profile events that are important to the recreational fishing industry. Tournaments are also under increasing scrutiny by governments, environmental groups, and the broader community. Much of this attention focuses on potential impacts on fish stocks, fish welfare in catch-and-release tournaments, and other issues such as potentially negative social impacts on local communities. The recreational fishing industry in Australia identified a need to be proactive in demonstrating sound environmental management of these events. The result was
