A novel test system using isolated erythrocytes (red blood cells, RBCs) and arsine (AsH₃ gas dissolved in aqueous solution was characterized which allows for the quantitation of RBC exposure to AsH₃ in vitro and for in vitro study of the toxicity of AsH₃. AsH₃ was found to be rapidly and strongly associated with RBCs. Toxicity, measured as hemolysis, was time- and dose-dependent and exhibited a lag phase of about 30 minutes in both dog and rat RBCs. Surfactants are used in a wide assortment of "down-the-drain" consumer products, yet they are often discharged in wastewater treatment plant effluent into receiving water, potentially causing environmental harm. Despite the accessibility of online news and availability of sophisticated methods for analyzing news content, no previous study has focused on the simultaneous examination of news coverage on human trafficking and audiences' interpretations of this coverage. ESCAPE-Gruppe (Enterococcus faecium, Staphylococcus aureus, Clostridium difficile, Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa und verschiedene Enterobacteriaceae, u.a. Klebsiella pneumoniae) verursacht.
