Abstract:

Indonesia is one of the countries with the third highest level of air pollution in the world. The contribution of motor vehicle exhaust emissions as the largest source of air pollution reaches 60-70%, compared to industry which only ranges between 10-15%. The purpose of this research is to find out the Comparison of Flue Gas Emissions Using Pertalite Fuel with LPG Fuels on the Tr200 Triarrows Engine , The testing place at the Mechanical Engineering Lab of the University of Muhammadiyah Pekajangan Pekalongan, the research method using descriptive data analysis methods and as a dependent variable CO and HC flue gas and independent variables are 2500 rpm, 3000 rpm, 3500, 4000 rpm, 4500 rpm and 5000 rpm. Tests were conducted to determine the value of exhaust emissions on pertalite fuel and LPG gas fuel on the Triarrows Tr200 Generator. From the results of the study it was found that some significant decreases in the value of CO gas emission occurred at 3500 rpm - 5000 rpm which is the concentration decreased by 7.97% from 8.07% to 0.1% at 3500 rpm. While the concentration of HC gas emissions which is very significant at 2500 rpm - 5000 rpm which is the value of concentration decreased by 3945 ppm from 4412 ppm to 467 ppm at 3000 rpm. In this paper, the factors affecting the surface roughness by flank milling are selected, and the blade machining experiments are implemented according to the orthogonal table designed, Then, the blade surface roughness are measured using TR200 instrument, and the surface roughness of the blade results are analyzed using visual analysis method and variance analysis method. Finally, the impact of various factors on the blade roughness is obtained, and the optimal process parameters of flank milling aluminum alloy blade are given.

Abstract:

Pruning residues from olive groves represent an important biomass source. Until now, the management of pruning residue has generally represented a disposal problem rather than an opportunity for additional revenue. The main problem is the lack of a well-organized pruning biomass supply chain. In particular, harvesting is a key stage that influences the product quality, the type of logistics chain, and the economic sustainability of the pruning supply chain. The aim of the present paper was the evaluation of the machine performance of the Facma Comby TR200 towed shredder. The harvesting tests took place in Agios Konstantinos, Fthiotida, Central Greece. Two different experimental fields were used for the evaluation of this harvesting system; these fields were characterized by different slopes to check the convenience of using such a towed shredder on both hilly slopes and flat terrains. Analysis was conducted focusing on both the work productivity and costs. Moreover, an evaluation of the obtained hog fuel quality was performed. The Facma Comby TR200 showed good work performances on both flat (2.60 tdm·h−1) and hilly (2.74 tdm·h−1) land, even if a consistent influence of the pruning biomass yield on the work performances was reported. The biomass quality could be consistently improved by modifying the pick-up systems to avoid the collection of inert materials (soil and rocks). In fact, the analysis showed a high ash content in the comminuted material (4% dry basis). Finally, the economic aspects of this study’s results were in line with those reported in the literature. The applied harvesting system showed a cost equal to 29.88 and 16.59 €·tfm−1 on flat and hilly land, respectively.

Abstract:

Nickel–titanium (Ni-Ti) alloy has been selected as stent material given its good biocompatibility. In this study, experimental research on this material was conducted using magnetic field-assisted electrical discharge machining (EDM). The surface topography of the machined workpiece was analyzed with a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Hydrophobicity was measured by using an optical contact angle measuring instrument. The roughness values of different positions on the surface were measured using a TR200 roughness instrument. Results showed that the composite structure of solidification bulge–crater–pore–particle can be prepared on the surface of the Ni-Ti alloy through magnetic mixed EDM using suitable processing parameters. Moreover, the contact angle of the surface reaches 138.2°.

Abstract:

Laser color marking experiments on titanium alloy substrates were carried out to investigate the impact of selected laser processing parameters on the resulting colors. The CIE L*a*b* color space was used to quantify these colors. The surface roughness of the marked color areas was measured by using a TR200 hand-held surface roughness instrument. The relationships between laser parameters and CIE L*a*b* values and surface roughness of the colors were obtained. Results clearly showed that different colors ranging from blue and gray to yellow were produced. Some colors can be obtained by different sets of parameters, while some colors can only be produced by a specific combination of process parameters due to the existence of different forms of heat input and thermal process. The b* value increased to the maximum which represented yellow then decreased. The surface roughness of color areas decreased with the increase of focal plane offset, scanning velocity, or hatch space.

Abstract:

Aim: Bulk Fill composite resins were released on the market in order to reduce the time in clinical sessions by using increments of up to 5.0 mm thickness. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the rinsing solutions on the surface roughness of the conventional composite and Bulk fill composite resins. Methods: 40 specimens were prepared from a 4.0mm x 10.0mm teflon matrix and photoactivated for 20 seconds, with 20 specimens made of Filtek Bulk-Fill composite resin (3M ESPE) and 20 specimens made with Filtek™ Z350 XT composite resin (3M ESPE). Each group was subdivided into 2 subgroups: G1 (Filtek™ Z350 XT-3M ESPE-immersed in Colgate PlaxWhitening®); G2 (Filtek™ Z350 XT-3M ESPE-immersed in PlaxFreshMint®); G3 (Filtek™ Bulk-Fill-3M ESPE-immersed in Colgate PlaxWhitening®) and G4 (Filtek™ Bulk-Fill-3M ESPE-immersed in Colgate PlaxFreshMint®). The surface roughness test was performed initially and after immersion in rinses by the Time Group Inc.-TR200® rugosimeter apparatus and the data were submitted to statistical analysis (two-way repeated measures ANOVA). Results: Surface roughness values of the Filtek™ Bulk-Fill composite resin (3M ESPE) were significantly higher than the Filtek™ Z350 XT composite resin (3M ESPE) (P <0.0001). However, no differences were identified before and after immersion in rinses with or without alcohol. Conclusion: The use of mouthwashes does not interfere with the surface roughness of the tested resins, but the composite resin Filtek Z350 XT (3M ESPE) presents a surface with less roughness.

Abstract:

In the present investigation, four titanium (Ti) surfaces of dental implants were compared through in vitro systems. The surface roughness of Ti was measured by TR240 mobile surface roughmeter. The Ti implants were seeded with human periodontal ligament cells (hPLDCs) and maintained for a period of 0-7 days. The adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation of hPLDCs were observed by using Cell morphology, cell counting and Osteocalcin (OC) immunofluorescent staining. Results suggest that surface roughness of titanium favors hPDLCs behavior and improves cell adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation.

Il saggio ripercorre la lunga vicenda delle città-giardino, a partire da una sintesi delle principali caratteristiche teoriche e progettuali che costituiscono la genesi di questo fenomeno urbano: i saggi di Ebenezer Howard e le realizzazioni di Letchworth, Welwyn, ma anche Hampstead e Brentham. La repentina diffusione di questa idea di urbanizzazione ha il suo impatto anche in altre nazioni, dove alcuni tra i più importanti architetti del periodo si confrontano con il tema della città giardino: Le Corbusier, Berlage, Taut, Tessenow, anche se successivamente seguiranno indirizzi progettuali differenti. Nella terza parte si ripercorre l'impatto in Italia di queste proposte, con una prima associazione alle case popolari sino a esiti ben differenti nella seconda metà del Novecento.

I cimiteri sono luoghi di lutto e memoria individuale e collettiva, di culto, di testimonianza architettonica, artistica, paesaggistica, ma sono anche ecosistemi contraddistinti da varietà ecologica e biodiversità. Territori in divenire, narrano la crescente diversificazione dei bisogni e dei valori culturali e simbolici degli abitanti, in relazione al presente e al futuro. La recente revisione del Piano regolatore dei cimiteri milanesi costituisce un'occasione per riflettere su queste condizioni e potenzialità e per rilanciare un progetto di multiculturalità e diversificazione ecologica degli spazi per la metropoli attuale. Abstract:

A seguito della crisi economica del 2008, molti progetti di trasformazione urbana avviati negli anni precedenti hanno subito una forte decelerazione. La crisi ha avuto ripercussioni sui processi di pianificazione urbana, eclissando il potere decisionale delle istituzioni pubbliche già depauperato dall'affermarsi dell'approccio neoliberale e dal taglio di risorse finanziarie. L'articolo presenta l'esperienza di Dublino come interessante tentativo di regolamentazione e di controllo del fenomeno dei vuoti urbani da parte dell'attore pubblico. Seppure in un contesto fortemente neoliberale, gli strumenti introdotti dalla città per la gestione e il rilancio degli spazi abbandonati, unito ad altre politiche, hanno dato luogo a normative innovative per l'avvio di pratiche di uso temporaneo.

Abstract:

Research documented here focuses on the urban regeneration of historical contexts, defining a specific intervention strategy for the historical center of Cosenza (Italy) through the multisectoral and inclusive approach used by the Natural Shopping Center (ccn). The main research aim was to (re)-define the aspects related to the organisational, operational and management methods of a ccn, following literature analysis and the study of best practices. Through the application case, a series of objectives have been defined, including the enhancement of tourism and craft sector and the redevelopment of urban furniture. This underlines the need to use innovative planning tools, which have to be able to develop concrete and integrated initiatives and be aimed at improving the well-being of different users.

Abstract:

Il contributo propone una rilettura delle teorie di Howard. L'attenzione è posta sulla relazione fra pianificazione regionale o sub-regionale e progetto economico della città giardino, considerati presupposti imprescindibili del modello (anche spaziale). Ciò, mettendo in luce alcune affinità con il più recente dibattito sulla dimensione territoriale del progetto di comunità sostenibili. Successivamente, a partire dal racconto della designazione di Welwyn Garden City come città satellite londinese, il contributo mira a indagare la relazione fra pianificazione e disegno urbano in un progetto green-oriented ante litteram, in cui l'uso delle alberature assume un significato che supera la funzione eco-sistemica.

In un momento storico in cui le città europee sono teatro di modifiche progressive piuttosto che di massive espansioni, acquista importanza il ruolo della disciplina dell'attività edilizia e delle forme di regolazione che agiscono sulle trasformazioni ordinarie. Questo contributo mira a esplorare gli esiti di uno di questi strumenti - la legge n. 106/2011. Lo studio offre una mappatura delle trasformazioni edilizie attuate, o approvate, tramite questa legge a Torino fino al 2019. L'obiettivo è comprendere il rapporto tra le intenzioni espresse dallo strumento regolativo e i suoi effetti sullo spazio della città: l'analisi dei tipi di intervento, del cambiamento di destinazioni d'uso e superfici di ogni trasformazione è messa in relazione con le modifiche volumetriche, per studiare gli esiti morfologici delle pratiche private di trasformazione e il loro ruolo nel processo di ‘produzione di città'. Il contributo riporta la sintesi di un'attività di ricerca triennale svolta nell'ambito di un progetto finanziato dal Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico. L'obiettivo del lavoro è verificare l'influenza di configurazioni topologiche delle imprese, in forma clusterizzata o indipendente, e tipologiche in termini di diverso settore industriale di loro afferenza, sui determinanti di scelta localizzativa in ambito urbano. L'analisi empirica ha riguardato l'area urbana di Napoli e il campione di imprese analizzate è stato selezionato in ottica della strategia regionale di sviluppo aziendale RIS3 (Research Innovation Smart Specialization Strategy) della Regione Campania per la piena conformità tra le linee di intervento ministeriali e quelle regionali.

Il saggio tratteggia la storia del rapporto fra cinema e pubblici a Milano attraverso quattro affondi che colgono altrettante svolte nell'esperienza degli spettatori del capoluogo lombardo: la costruzione di un modello ‘rilocato' di fruizione del film, durante gli anni '50; l'emergere di un'esperienza crepuscolare del cinema, nella seconda metà degli anni '60; l'affermarsi, alle soglie del nuovo millennio, di un modello di intrattenimento esteso legato alla diffusione dei multiplex; la recente emersione di un'esperienza diffusa del film, sostenuta dalle piattaforme digitali come Netflix e dalla metamorfosi dello spettatore. Quattro momenti che anticipano e contribuiscono a innescare analoghi cambiamenti su scala nazionale.

I saggi che costituiscono la sezione partono tutti da una riconsiderazione dei principi iniziali di Ebenezer Howard, mettendone in luce aspetti differenti, per analizzare la diffusione coeva del modello in ambito europeo e statunitense, o aspetti non scontati come la relazione tra pianificazione urbana e questione alimentare. L'obiettivo e` una valutazione sul lascito delle citta` giardino, come una vicenda, fra teoria e prassi, della pianificazione e del disegno della citta` all'origine di molte questioni della citta` contemporanea.
