The residual value of a tractor affects the cost of ownership. As there is not much transactional information available for used tractors, nor is there a history of new tractor prices, existing studies struggle to forecast the residual value of agricultural tractors. This is made even more challenging by the emission-regulation-related tractor price increase, low inflation in recent decades, and the complexity of the portfolio offerings from manufacturers. Using the new equivalent tractors, grouped by families of similar characteristics, bypasses these challenges and enables us to obtain large

I argue that financial barriers explain farmers' reluctance to buy this expensive invention during the 1920s, while two New Deal regulatory agencies altered farmers' investment climate and spurred the adoption of capital equipment.

Abstract:
The agricultural sector is constantly evolving. The rise in the world’s population generates an increasingly growing demand for food, resulting in the need for the agroindustry to meet this demand. Tractors are the vehicles that have made a real difference in agriculture’s development throughout history, lowering costs in soil tillage and facilitating activities and operations for workers. This study aims to successfully design and build an autonomous, electric agricultural tractor that can autonomously perform recurring tasks in open-field and greenhouse applications. This project is fully pa

The article describes the history of the development and creation of the first domestic neutralizers of exhaust gases of internal combustion engines, which began with testing and research of foreign neutralizers. Sequential stages of design, study and testing of domestic converters for gasoline and diesel engines are considered. There are described the following processes: the process of developing methods for testing engines for toxicity and the process of creating estimated indicators and developing normative and technical documents in the field of toxicity of engines and vehicles.

With the increase in the production of new machines, it was necessary to pay more attention to their repair and maintenance, expand research, create appropriate standards, and constantly update technical documentation. The pre-1953 repair laboratories were not powerful enough to solve the growing problems. In 1953, it was decided to establish The State Union Research Institute for the Repair and Operation of Tractors and Agricultural Machinery. ABSTRACTThe fall of colonial regimes across Africa was accompanied by the rise in expectations for rapid and inclusive rural economic progress. In Zambia, the cooperative production unit was one of two key initiatives at the centre of the United National Independence Party's ambitious development efforts. The other was the tractor. By following these two interlinked initiatives in the years immediately following independence, this article contributes to the under-explored history of early postcolonial development. It argues that both the power of expert groups and the level of continuity betwe

Abstract In this article I suggest that in the Soviet period Central Asians cultivated and conceptualized Islam as an episteme. They did this by reaching beyond alienating (and often ephemeral) categories offered to them by the state. I argue that the constitution of an Islamic culture was made possible, among other things, by Central Asians’ encounters with the past, most notably with what they perceived as an Islamic past. We observe the curious phenomenon of Central Asians’ continuous interaction with the Islamic historical sites that escaped the bulldozers of the Soviet campaigns of religi
