AbstractAn intermarket sweep order (ISO) is a limit order that automatically executes in a designated market center even if another market center is publishing a better quotation. An investor submitting an ISO must satisfy order protection rules by concurrently submitting orders to the markets with better prices. We find that ISOs represent 46% of trades and 41% of volume in our sample. ISO trades have a significantly larger information share despite their small trade size relative to non-ISO trades. Post trade return analysis suggests that informed institutions are the main users of ISO trade

This project involves a failure analysis of the internal structural collapse that occurred in World Trade Center 5 (WTC 5) due to fire exposure alone on September 11, 2001. It is hypothesized that the steel column-tree assembly failed during the heating phase of the fire. The results of this research have serious and far-reaching implications, for this method of construction is utilized in approximately 20,000 existing buildings and continues to be very popular. AbstractBeing one part of the African slave trade, the slave trade in Madagascar is similar to that of the Transatlantic area. Both are destructive commercial activities that cause population loss and exacerbate social unrest and ethnic conflicts. The Kingdom of Imerina, located at Madagascar’s central plateau, thrived in the destructive slave trade by combining its trade dominance with the cultural system and created a new regime. However, different from the slave trade in most African regions, the rise of the Imerina dynasty did not lead to a shift of political and economic center to the coa

Abstract The massive structural foundation for the two, 110-story towers at the New York City World Trade Center consists of a six level, subterranean parking garage and office facility. Two direct current (dc) powered subway systems pass through the Center, and two other dc subways operate directly adjacent to the 16-acre complex. This setting makes the Center substructure a prime candidate for potential transit-induced, stray current corrosion problems.
