Cereal trade is an important means of managing global food demand and maintaining national food security. Trade-in cereal and other agricultural products are becoming an increasingly important way of managing resources between countries with rich resources and countries with limited resources. Grain production is the sector with the highest priority in the development of agriculture in Kazakhstan, while China is the world’s leading cereal producer and consumer. Therefore, the aim of this study is to examine the development of foreign trade with cereal between Kazakhstan and China by using the

This study employs a stochastic gravity model to estimate the efficiency performance of Vietnam’s trade with its main trading partners from 1995-2015. Trade efficiency is measured as the ratio of actual trade volume to the maximum likelihood. Moreover. it analyzes the effects of both natural and man-made trade barriers on trade efficiency. The empirical results suggest that the actual trade of Vietnam appears to be much smaller than a possible efficiency level and that there is large space for further progress. Export efficiency outweighs that of import. Vietnam’s ASEAN Free Trade Agreement me

In a context of energy saving and operational cost reduction, energy efficiency (EE) has emerged as an important performance metric in cellular networks. According to the famous Shannon’s capacity theorem, maximising the EE while maximising the spectral efficiency (SE) are conflicting objectives, hence, both metrics can be jointly studied via their trade-off, i.e. the EE-SE trade-off. In this context, the aim of this thesis is to investigate the fundamental trade-off between EE and SE in futuristic cellular networks where distributed multiple-input multiple output (DMIMO) or coordinated multi-

As part of this inquiry, it examines the role played by international trade both singly and in combination with geography, institutions and foreign R&D. One line of inquiry revisits the contentious issue of the relationship between trade openness and growth. It examines this issue from two standpoints. First, the sensitivity of the openness-growth nexus to alternative measures of TFP growth is considered. This approach departs from

The data traffic in cellular networks has had and will experience a rapid exponential rise. Therefore, it is essential to innovate a new cellular architecture with advanced wireless technologies that can offer more capacity and enhanced spectral efficiency to manage the exponential data traffic growth. Managing such mass data traffic, however, brings up another challenge of increasing energy consumption. This is because it contributes into a growing fraction of the carbon dioxide (CO2) emission which is a global concern today due to its negative impact on the environment. This has resulted in

In these models, freer trade increases aggregate productivity because high-efficiency firms expand through exporting and low-efficiency firms exit the market. However, factor reallocation could be negatively affected by the presence of microeconomic frictions.
