Abstract:

Abstract A great deal of speculation dominates the translation industry with regard to the effectiveness of (MT) Machine Translation, or translation software. This project investigates the conclusions of Bennet (1994) about the size of the UT (unit of translation), based on the raw translations of a sample text as produced by four competitive PC programs. These programs are all transfer systems, which employ a minimum UT, such as a single noun phrase. The sample text is an authentic business correspondence text. A linguistic analysis of the four translations is performed. Results of the analysis show that numerous errors are committed which require the intervention of the professional translator. This research concludes that, for this type of text, a transfer system is not cost-effective because it will still require extensive human editing. The semantic errors particularly demonstrate the need to emphasize research towards the development of translation software which incorporates a larger UT. Résumé L'industrie de la traduction est soumise à de nombreuses spéculations en ce qui concerne l'efficacité de la traduction informatisée (TI) ou des logiciels de traduction. Dans cet article, l'auteur examine les conclusions de Bennet (1994) concernant la dimension de l'unité de traduction (UT), basée sur les traductions brutes d'un texte servant d'échantillons et produites par quatre programmes concurrentiels sur PC. Tous ces programmes sont des systèmes de tranfert qui emploient une UT minimum, par exemple une phrase nominale simple. Le texte d'échantillon est une lettre commerciale existante. Les quatre traductions obtenues sont soumises à une analyse linguistique, dont les résultats indiquent plusieurs erreurs exigeant l'intervention d'un traducteur professionnel. Cette étude permet de conclure que pour ce genre de textes, les systèmes de tranfert ne sont pas rentables du point de vue du coût puisqu'ils doivent être corrigés par une personne. Les erreurs sémantiques en particulier rélèvent le besoin de développer des logiciels capables d'incorporer une plus grande UT.

Résumé : Dans le néoplatonisme grec, le fait d'avoir érigé un principe non-ontique rompt avec la supériorité de l'affirmation sur la négation lorsqu'il s'agit d'énoncer le divin. Cependant, à cause des thèses exprimées sur la transcendance radicale de l'Un, la réflexion sur le discours portant sur la divinité s'achève la plupart du temps par la dénonciation d'une inaptitude profonde du discours à signifier une quelconque réalité divine, et aboutit systématiquement à l'apologie du silence. L’apophase a comme objectif de dépouiller l’âme de toute détermination afin qu’elle puisse s’unir au Principe qui est au-delà de toute détermination. Au XIIème siècle la conscience de la supériorité de la négation sur l'affirmation in divinis, qui avait donné l’origine à la translatio nominis chez Denys et à une translatio categoriae chez Erigène, donne lieu à une théorie grammaticale que l'on a qualifiée de translatio semanticae. C'est cette question du tranfert sémantique des noms et de la proposition qui constituera l’objet d'analyse de ce chapitre. Nous nous proposons d’étudier les éléments de cette sémantique et de cette syntaxe néoplatoniciennes dans les maximes de grammaire contenues dans les Règles de Théologie d'Alain de Lille écrites au XIIème siècle.Mots-clef : Alain de Lille, grammaire, sémantique, translatio, kataphase, apophase.

Abstract:

Résumé La première partie du présent article traite du principe synecdoquien, un concept universel central du discours, et par la même occasion de la traduction. Je propose de relier la synecdoque de Lederer (1976 ; 1981 : 1994) qui consiste à voir la formulation linguistique d’un énoncé comme une partie servant à désigner un tout : le sens, à la théorie cognitive de la métaphore et de la métonymie (TCMM) (Lakoff et Johnsen 1980, Langacker 1987, Lakoff et Turner 1989, Gibbs 1994, Panther et Radder 1999 ; Barcelona 2000), où les mots servent de tremplin aux constructions cognitives. Les synecdoques sont les retombées linguistiques de l’édification d’une configuration cognitive. Vu qu’une notion ou une situation est en général conceptualisée différemment dans deux langues différentes, les synecdoques qui servent à véhiculer le sens d’un énoncé discursif ne sont pas les mêmes dans les deux langues. La seconde partie de l’article s’efforce de faire ressortir dans quelle mesure les traducteurs professionnels sont conscients du besoin de recourir à des synecdoques autres que celles du texte de départ en vue de restituer les configurations cognitives qu’ils ont en tête suite à la saisie du sens de formulations aussi bien innovatives que figées. Du fait que les processus mentaux ne se prêtent pas à des observations directes, force est d’inférer ceux-ci à partir des données comportementales du traducteur. Sur la base d’une expérience conduite auprès de trois professionnels de la traduction – le comportement traductionnel desquels est observé à partir de données processuelles générées par deux méthodes in vivo : les protocoles de verbalisation et le logiciel Translog – je tente d’inférer les raisons les ayant incités à opter pour des créations discursives plutôt que pour des correspondances pré-assignées. Je tente enfin de classer leurs procédures de tranfert dans trois catégories : automatique, réfléchie ou explorative.

SummaryIn the mouse, mature oocytes injected with prespermatozoal cell nuclei remain unactivated. Additional stimulation is needed to trigger oocyte activation leading to embryo development. We compared various electrical stimulations, treatment with cycloheximide alone or in combination with electrical stimulation, and injection of sperm-borne oocyte-activating factor (oscillogen) in terms of their oocyte activation and embryo development rates. Of all the treatments tested, a single electrical pulse (1.0 kV / cm, 128 μs) was the simplest, yet very effective, in allowing the development of the oocytes injected with spermatid nuclei.

Saat ini menghitung transfer panas pada bidang bangunan, bukan menjadi pekerjaan sulit. Banyak software simulasi komputer yang menawarkan dengan banyak ketepatan dan varian tampilan sesuai dengan kebutuhan penggunanya. Software Therm menawarkan satu keunggulan, yaitu mudah digunakan, dapat digunakan untuk bidang yang riil pada desain bangunan dan bahkan dapat digunakan untuk menghitung transfer panas pada denaha bangunan. Kesulitan dalam penggunaan aplikasi ini adalah keterbatasan library bahan bangunan yang belum tetntu cocok dengan bahan bangunan di Indonesia yang kita gunakan sehar-0hari. Namun software ini menyediakan kesempatan untuk menambah library bahan bangunan dengan mengisi nilai bahan bangunan terkait termal yang sangat sederhana. Penelitian ini didasari dengan penelitian internal yang di danai oleh Universitas Katolik Soegijapranata dengan tujuan untuk menganalisa bidang material dinding dengan memanfaatkan software Therm dengan simulasi tranfer panas yang dapat secara nyata dan akurat menghitung dan memetakan dalam potongan bidang dinding. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif yang menggambarkan tranfer panas yang melalui dinding, dengan software Therm dan menjabarkan dalam uraian pengaruh transfer panas terhadap ruang dalam, sehingga dapat memberikan respon positif untuk mengantisipasi masalah panas yang masuk ke dalam bangunan. Hasil penelitian ini diharap dapat menjadi landasan bagi desain bangunan yang harus selalu memperhatikan arah orientasi bangunan sehingga pengaruh paparan sinar matahari terhadap dinding dapat diketahu transfer panas yang terjadi dan dapat secara bijak mengantisipasinya.

RÉSUMÉ Contrairement aux données linguistiques publiées plus tôt par Statistique Canada, données préalablement contrôlées de façon a éliminer tous les cas de réponses doubles, multiples et manquantes, les langues maternelle et d’usage effectivement déclarées au recensement de 1981 montrent une anglicisation nette du groupe français au Québec. La francisation des allophones ne compense pas le mouvement d’anglicisation des francophones tout particulièrement chez les moins de 25 ans. Toujours contrairement aux données contrôlées, les réponses réelles aux questions linguistiques permettent aussi d’observer un phénomène de bilinguisme au foyer fort cohérent avec les mouvements d’assimilation linguistique mis en évidence par les tranferts déclarés.

Based on a standard dual-equation turbulent flow model and coupled explicit solver,a wall function method was employed to closure the Reynolds averaged N-S equation .The mixing plane method was adopted to tranfer parameters between rotor and stator cascades. A approximate linear law is obtained in gas turbine cascade for supercharged marine boiler,which governs the variation of some parameters at the outlet of the turbine stage cascade along the blade height direction,such as pressure,velocity,as well as temperature and Ma.The results can provide guidelines for aerodynamic optimization design of the gas turbine stage cascade and the scientific management of this kind of set.

Abstract:

The aims of study is to describe combination of two big theory between Socialization model of tacit-tacit transfer knowledge and appreciative inquiry approach conceptually. This research idea comes to find better ways in tacit-tacit transfer of knowledge in knowledge management theory. This research is conceptual research and the limitation is about empirical study itself. The result of conceptual paper combine the process of tacit-tacit tansfer knowledge and appreciate inquiry in mental model, creative dialogue and develop mutual trust. Appreciative inquiry as a method to increase positive sense in tranfer knowlegde can be applied in tacit-tacit transfer knowledge phase in SECI Model.

Abstract:

In this paper, a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis is performed on a gas-liquid heat exchanger fitted on a gasification equipment. The flow and temperature patterns are preliminary investigated using SolidWorks Flow Simulation software, in order to gain insight into the involved physical processes, and to find the exchanger weak points before being manufactured and tested. The analysed equipment tranfers heat from the flue gasses generated by a gasification system, towards a liquid heat transfer medium. This is subsequently sent to a second liquidliquid heat exchanger used to heat water from a boiler. As a result of the analysis, solutions aiming at performance improvement of the equipment are discussed and proposed.

Abstract:

The final pattern of the cuticle of the Drosophila larva depends on the position-specific behaviour of the epidermal cells during their differentiation. This behaviour is dictated, in part, by the relative position of the cells during embryogenesis which allows them to receive and integrate signals from their neighbours. The translation of this ‘positional information’ into pattern might depend on the activity of genes that are able to integrate the outcome of cell interactions and tranfer it to the genes responsible for cell differentiation. Mutations in the gene puckered cause spatially restricted defects during the differentiation of the larval epidermal cells. We present data that suggests puckered may be involved in linking positional information to cell differentiation.
