Abstract:
Introduction. One of the least developed areas of the theory of economic institutionalism is transactional analysis of public finance. Its component – the theory of transaction costs, is mainly applied to the sphere of functioning of economic entities and the financial market. This necessitates the study of transactions in public finance as an economic phenomenon that requires an integrated approach and goes beyond purely transaction costs. The purpose of the article. The aim is to study the conceptual foundations, method and key areas of transactional analysis of public finance as a scientific field of institutional research. Method. To achieve this goal, the following general scientific methods were used: scientific abstraction, in highlighting the essential features of transactional analysis of public finance; comparative analysis, when assessing the differences in transaction costs in the public and market sectors; a systematic approach in identifying the components of transactional analysis of public finance. Results. Transactional analysis of public finance as a component of institutional research of public finance is considered. The role of transaction costs in the public sphere is shown and their ability to positively influence the efficiency of public finance due to the optimization of resource allocation in the public sector is substantiated. It is indicated that transaction costs in the public sphere are a necessary element to ensure compliance with supply and demand of public goods and other state services, which leads to increased utility of participants in collective interaction. The characteristic of the method of transactional analysis of public finance and its features is given. The main directions of transactional analysis of public finance from the standpoint of comparison of transaction costs, transaction losses and transaction benefits are outlined. The dualistic nature of transaction costs in relation to transformation costs is shown.

Abstract:
The transaction cost economics has accumulated a mass of dogmatic concepts and assertions that have acquired high stability under the influence of path dependence. These include the dogma about transaction costs as frictions, the dogma about the unproductiveness of transactions as a generator of losses, “Stigler—Coase” theorem and the logic of transaction cost minimization, and also the dogma about the priority of institutions providing low-cost transactions. The listed dogmas underlie the prevailing tradition of transactional analysis the frictional paradigm — which, in turn, is the foundation of neo-institutional theory. Therefore, the community of new institutionalists implicitly blocks attempts of a serious revision of this dogmatics. The purpose of the article is to substantiate a post-institutional (alternative to the dominant neo-institutional discourse) value-oriented perspective for the development of transactional studies based on rethinking and combining forgotten theoretical alternatives. Those are Commons’s theory of transactions, Wallis—North’s theory of transaction sector, theory of transaction benefits (T. Sandler, N. Komesar, T. Eggertsson) and Zajac—Olsen’s theory of transaction value. The article provides arguments and examples in favor of broader explanatory possibilities of value-oriented transactional analysis.

Abstract:
A blockchain-oriented continuous micropayment system forms an integral element of the digital economy, enabling seamless transactions and encouraging minor purchases. However, due to the inherent throughput constraints of blockchain, payment channels (PCs) are customarily deployed for managing high-volume transactions in an off-chain mode. Despite this, the integration of a PC necessitates a trusted intermediary to safeguard transactional security, thereby imposing an extra security assumption as only the initial and concluding transactions are visible to other system participants. To circumvent this limitation, we introduce an innovative micropayment structure utilizing lockable signatures. Each transaction within the PC coalesces into a continuous microtransaction hash-chain (CMHC), precluding unscrupulous users from accessing transactional data during the process. Additionally, all locks within the CMHC remain concealed throughout the transaction, with all information relayed in a tamper-proof manner. We provide a comprehensive security analysis and perform a gamut of evaluations. Empirical evidence indicates that our proposed system outperforms existing state-of-the-art solutions in transaction time and verification expenses. This lockable signature-dependent micropayment system not only ensures robust security but also enhances transactional speed and efficiency, thereby catalyzing the growth of the digital economy.

Abstract:
Concurrent programs may suffer from concurrency anomalies that may lead to erroneous and unpredictable program behaviors. To ensure program correctness, these anomalies must be diagnosed and corrected. This paper addresses the detection of both low- and high-level anomalies in the Transactional Memory setting. We propose a static analysis procedure and a framework to address Transactional Memory anomalies. We start by dealing with the classic case of low-level dataraces, identifying concurrent accesses to shared memory cells that are not protected within the scope of a memory transaction. Then, we address the case of high-level dataraces, bringing the programmer?s attention to pairs of memory transactions that were misspecified and should have been combined into a single transaction. Our framework was applied to a set of programs, collected form different sources, containing well known low- and high-level anomalies. The framework demonstrated to be accurate, confirming the effectiveness of using static analysis techniques to precisely identify concurrency anomalies in Transactional Memory programs.

Abstract:
A great deal of importance has recently been given to studies dealing with the spiritual aspect of psychological theories and approaches; the aim has been to shed light on the spiritual aspect of humanity through these conducted researches and compilations. The current study aims to explain the perspective of transactional analysis on spirituality in terms of the theory of interpersonal relations and the extent of spirituality on the understanding of transactional analysis. Mainly the views of Berne and the researchers following in his footsteps have been taken into consideration. The experience of self-transcendence has been referenced by elaborating on the concept of autonomy, which occurs in spirituality through transactional analysis. By forming a framework over the transactional analysis view on spirituality, a perspective is offered towards transactional analysis patterns and spirituality along the axis of transaction and ego states. Family prisms, which are especially effective in the process of working with families in the understanding of transactional analysis, are clarified along the axis of spirituality. In addition, brief and summary information is presented about the pilgrim model, which guides transactional analysts regarding the spiritual elements a client brings during the consultation process. This study aims to show that the understanding of transactional analysis is a theory of relations and that therapists do not exclude spirituality from the counseling process but reference spirituality, particularly when focusing on ego states, intimacy, and autonomy, although not on all the concepts discussed along the understanding axis. For this purpose, the study aims to give the point of view on spirituality in transactional analysis theory by compiling the research that has been performed.

Abstract:
The presence of reference frameworks in psychology is complemented by the existence of this concept in transactional analysis. In their current understanding, they are the structure of interrelated responses from the integrated ego-state to specific stimuli. Reference frameworks provide an individual with the opportunity to develop a general perceptual, intellectual and emotional system that influences his behaviour. They constitute a system used to define oneself, other people and the world. The system of reference is present in the individual’s script, his psychological games and transactions. As far as transactions are concerned, they are often tangential, blocking, or refracted. Apart from individual reference frameworks, transactional analysis is interested in their broader social and cultural contexts, which constitute their subsystem functioning as a source of identity. It reveals itself during intercultural exchanges or confrontations. Reference frameworks, being a kind of a window to the world, influence interpersonal relations and the links that exist within them

Abstract:
Background: Transactional analysis is a theory of human personality and social behaviour. It is a comprehensive system of psychotherapy founded in the late 1950s by Eric Berne. Lately, organisational psychologists are waking up to the value of transactional analysis as a valuable Human Resources tool, giving them an insight into various interpersonal transactional styles in various professions. Nursing as a profession has always been characterised as a nurturing, caregiving and comfort providing job, which can emerge as a very taxing and stressful profession in return. The myriad role that nurses play requires certain interpersonal tactics and styles which are very typical demands of their job role. But their personalities and dispositions cannot be ignored. Hence, an attempt is being made in the present study to analyse different transactional styles being adopted by female nursing professionals, along with their back up styles and also the role of their marital status on how they deal with their patients. Methodology: For this purpose, a sample of 120 female nurses, 60 married and 60 unmarrieds, falling in the age range of 25-40 years, working in various private and government hospitals of Chandigarh was taken. The data was collected with the help of Transactional Styles Inventory-Nurses. Results: Results revealed significant differences between married and unmarried nurses. Married nurses were more nurturing while the unmarried nurses emerged to be more regulated in their interpersonal transactions. Conclusion: The overall interpersonal efficacy of nurses needs to be improved so that they can attain the position best suited to help them meet the demands of various roles that they have to play. Keywords: Transactional analysis, transactional functions, nurse-patient interaction

Abstract:
Transactional memory has been receiving much attention from both academia and industry. In transactional memory, program code is split into transactions, blocks of code that appear to execute atomically. Transactions are executed speculatively and the speculative execution is supported through data versioning mechanism. Lazy versioning makes aborts fast but penalizes commits, whereas eager versioning makes commits fast but penalizes aborts. However, whether to use eager or lazy versioning to execute those transactions is still a hotly debated topic. Lazy versioning seems appropriate for write-dominated workloads and transactions in high contention scenarios whereas eager versioning seems appropriate for read-dominated workloads and transactions in low contention scenarios. This necessitates a priori knowledge on the workload and contention scenario to select an appropriate versioning method to achieve better performance. In this article, we present an adaptive versioning approach, called Adaptive, that dynamically switches between eager and lazy versioning at runtime, without the need of a priori knowledge on the workload and contention scenario but based on appropriate system parameters, so that the performance of a transactional memory system is always better than that is obtained using either eager or lazy versioning individually. We provide Adaptive for both persistent and non-persistent transactional memory systems using performance parameters appropriate for those systems. We implemented our adaptive versioning approach in the latest software transactional memory distribution TinySTM and extensively evaluated it through 5 micro-benchmarks and 8 complex benchmarks from STAMP and STAMPEDE suites. The results show significant benefits of our approach. Specifically, in persistent TM systems, our approach achieved performance improvements as much as 1.5× for execution time and as much as 240× for number of aborts, whereas our approach achieved performance improvements as much as 6.3× for execution time and as much as 170× for number of aborts in non-persistent transactional memory systems.

Abstract:
Blockchain technology ensures record-keeping by redundantly storing and verifying transactions on a distributed network of nodes. Permissionless blockchains have pushed the development of decentralized applications (DApps) characterized by distributed business logic, resilience to centralized failures, and data immutability. However, storage scalability without sacrificing throughput is one of the remaining open challenges in permissionless blockchains. Enhancing throughput often compromises storage, as seen in projects such as Elastico, OmniLedger, and RapidChain. On the other hand, solutions seeking to save storage, such as CUB, Jidar, SASLedger, and SE-Chain, reduce the transactional throughput. To our knowledge, no analysis has been performed that relates storage growth to transactional throughput. In this article, we delve into the execution of the Bitcoin and Ethereum transactional models, unlocking patterns that represent any transaction on the blockchain. We reveal the trade-off between transactional throughput and storage. To achieve this, we introduce the spent-by relation, a new abstraction of the UTXO model that utilizes a directed acyclic graph (DAG) to reveal the patterns and allows for a graph with granular information. We then analyze the transactional patterns to identify the most storage-intensive ones and those that offer greater flexibility in the throughput/storage trade-off. Finally, we present an analytical study showing that the UTXO model is more storage-intensive than the account model but scales better in transactional throughput.

Abstract:
In spring 2009, revelations over the expense claims of British MPs led to one of the most damaging scandals affecting the legitimacy of parliamentary democracy in recent history. This article explores how this incident reveals the capacity of Web 2.0 devices and transactional data to transform politics. It reflects, graphically, the political power of identifying and knowing people on the basis of their transactions, on what they do rather than what they say. It also shows in practice how Web 2.0 devices such as Crowdsourcing, Google Docs, mash-ups and visualization software can be used to mobilize data for collective and popular projects. Basic analytic tools freely available on the Web enable people to access, digitize and analyse data and do their own analyses and representations of phenomena. We examine media and popular mobilizations of transactional data using the specific example of the MPs' expenses scandal and relate this to larger currents in online government data and devices for public scrutiny which give rise to a new politics of measurement. We argue that this politics of measurement involves the introduction of new visual devices based on the manipulation of huge databases into simplified visual arrays; the reorientation of accounts of the social from elicited attitudes and views to transactions and practices; and, the inspection of individuals arrayed in relation to other individuals within whole (sub) populations. It is also a politics that mobilizes new informational gatekeepers and organizers in the making and analysis of transactional data and challenges dominant or expert forms of analysis and representation.

Abstract:
The published article examines the influence of non-production (transactional) costs of a multifactorial manufacturing enterprise on the formation of its profit. An economic-mathematical model for calculating the profit of an enterprise is proposed, the production function of which takes into account changes in the values of elasticity for each resource, and production (transformation) and non-production (transactional) costs are also described by an exponential function. The features of the formation of profit volumes in the short-term and long-term periods of the enterprise's work are studied. A variant of the calculation model of the maximum possible profit, ignoring the role of transaction costs, and a variant of the calculation model of optimal profit, taking into account the influence of transaction costs, are obtained. The source of transaction costs is the costs of market transactions, for the implementation of which it is necessary to find a subject interested in concluding a transaction, conduct preliminary negotiations with him, prepare a contract and conditions for its implementation, etc. The resources and costs required for all this are the essence of the transaction costs of concluding a deal. It is shown that when calculating the volume of emerging profit, it is necessary to maximize not only the profit function itself, but also the transaction utility function. Numerical analysis of the results of calculations shows the unattainability of the maximum possible values of profit, since in practice the management of the enterprise maximizes not the profit itself, but its utility, expressed as the corresponding transactional function.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the opportunities of author’s transaction-contract approach application. The approach assumes that direct assessment can be done by structural elements with transformation of individual efforts of economic agents in collective efforts based on change of transactions and transformations in contract as an institutional agreement. In contract relations economic agents make efforts (in contract theory terminology) for product transformation as well as transaction efforts, which in series replaces each other. All the efforts can be assessed by costs and benefits, which economic agents gain as a result of economic relations. In the article it is discussed the questions of theoretical and practical application of transaction-contract approach to analysis of different economic spheres. Economic spheres can be divided based on the proportions of transaction and transformation on every stage of production process. The author refers to transaction sphere production processes in which the share of transaction efforts exceeds the share of transformation efforts. It means that the growth of total product is largely due to the transactional component. The author discusses the possibilities of using the approach to the research of transactional and transformational types of the production process, where, as an example, are given, among other questions, the possibilities of analysis of merit goods production, as well as examples of research and modeling of opportunistic behavior at the intra-company level.

Abstract:
Halal supply chain management has transformed beyond food and beverage certification. However, extant literature shows that Halal transaction management still has much to improve in terms of transaction permissibility, with the main gap in understanding Halal businesses and their transactions limited to a system that separately defines e-commerce and financial technology data into its IT business environment. This study aims to demonstrate the usefulness of managing Halal transactions and its permissibility analysis through a proposed Halal Supply Chain Management Transactions (HSCMT) model and prototype by applying a business analytic approach to integrate both e-commerce and financial technology data. The study uses literature analysis to ensure the correct structure of the integrated datasets, before modeling the transaction's permissibility and prototyping its analytics into decision-making analytics. The developed HSCMT prototype uses a payment gateway that can be embedded into a Halal SME owners' e-commerce site. This creates a holistic Halal Financial technology (FinTech) transaction permissibility dashboard, increasing the effectiveness of HSCMT for Malaysia Halal SME Owners (MHSO) by an average usability score of 83.67%. Results also indicate that the key basic mechanisms to verify transactional permissibility are the source of the transaction, the use of the transaction, transaction flow, and transaction agreement. Furthermore, its mechanisms must be mapped onto a submodule post-transformation and modeling of the transaction dataset. Further improvements in multisource data points can be further considered, as this research only focuses on local data points from one payment gateway service. This is due to restrictions in data policy when involving overseas supply chain and transaction documentation. This research utilizes available data in business through data management, optimization, mining, and visualization to measure performance and drive a company's growth. The competency of business analytics can be beneficial to Halal SMEs players because it can provide them with insights into the permissibility decision-making process.

Abstract:
Purpose Customer interactions with sellers change as social interactions in society change. The old dichotomy between transaction and relation exchange may no longer be valid as customers form relationships with sellers in new ways. It is against this background that the authors study how customers’ subjective perception of relational exchange appears in objectively defined transactional and relational exchange forms. The authors study one bank’s customers, and, based on objective bank records, the authors identify segments that behave as transactional and relational customers. The authors also identify a group of customers who are in between transactional and relational, and the authors call these interimistic relational, since they interact repeatedly with the bank in a short period of time. The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach The authors study how subjective attributes of relational exchange differ in objectively defined transactional, interimistic, and relational customer groups. The authors use a large data set, consisting of a combination of survey and objective bank records for 90,528 bank customers. Findings Findings are that the old dichotomy between transaction and relation is no longer valid, since customers’ exchange behavior and perception of exchange do not match up when it comes to the transaction-relation dichotomy. The authors find empirical evidence for that the subjective relational attributes can be observed in objectively defined relational, interimistic, and transactional customer groups. Overall, subjective relational attributes are strongest in the objective relational group; they are weaker in the interimistic group. Relational attributes are weakest, but still present, in the transactional group. Practical implications The findings presented here suggest strong support for relationship marketing practice, since even customers who behave transactionally perceive that they have an element of relationship with the seller. The authors find that customers may behave in a relational, interimistic, and transactional way, but that they perceive themselves as more or less relational. The practical implication is that customer analysis should focus on exchange forms, and that it is essential to analyze how exchange changes, and how multiple exchange forms may be combined in customer behavior and perception. Social implications The social implications of this paper are that marketers should consider the exchange between customer and financial service supplier as more or less of a relationship, and more or less of a service. Financial service firm strategies and regulation of financial services should acknowledge that no financial service transaction is independent of the relationship between the financial service provider and the customer. It may seem so objectively, but subjectively, it is not. Originality/value The authors present a unique comparison of objective and subjective customer exchange. There are two contributions that come from this research. The first is that customers perceive themselves as partially relational, even though they behave transactionally. The other contribution is that the authors identified interimistic relational exchange (IRE) as an exchange form in between relational and transactional. IRE can potentially be very important for market research and practice, as it captures modern market behavior. In today’s world, consumers form their perceptions in a multitude of ways, and may therefore have relational attitudes and transactional behaviors. More research is needed into how consumer perceptions and behaviors relate to each other, and how it impacts consumer purchase of financial services.

Abstract:
In the Indian philosophical system Vedanta, the composite human being is described in terms of five concentric sheaths surrounding an inner core - the Pancha Kosha (Five Sheaths) model. This model has implications for the discipline of Transactional Analysis insofar as it sheds light on the working of the Adult Ego State and also suggests the process by which autonomy can be achieved. Other concepts of Vedanta relevant to TA are discussed and elaborated, and a Vedantic Ego States Model presented incorporating them into the Classical TA model. The natural longing for intimacy and the growth force of physis are represented in terms of insights from Vedanta. The practice implications of the model are discussed, and also how it can help for personal growth and eventually spiritual progress.

Abstract:
Management is the process of accomplishing the activities efficiently and effectively with the help of human capital. The manpower in any sector is made to sail through a saga of productivity and profitability under the efficient captainship of the managers. This research paper gives insight into the implications of transactional analysis and ego states of the managers rendering the services in the companies of the IT sector in the Coastal Karnataka. To accomplish the objectives of the study, Transactional Style Inventory-Manager (TSI-M) is administered to the respondents, and scoring is done considering the Operating Effectiveness Quotient (OEQ). The research paper highlights that the demographic variables have a major influence on the interpersonal skills of the managers. It is found out that various ego states are predominant among managers, and the lowest state is the creative child ego state. The research concludes that by conducting transactional analysis-based leadership training, the productivity of employees can be enhanced in the future.

Abstract:
The present paper proposes a new model for the exploration of hesitated patterns from multiple levels of conceptual hierarchy in the transactional dataset. The usual practice of mining patterns has focused on identifying frequent patterns (i.e., which occur together) in the transactional dataset but uncovers the vital information about the patterns which are almost frequent (but not exactly frequent) called “hesitated patterns.” The proposed model uses the reduced minimum support threshold (contains two values: attractiveness and hesitation) and constant minimum confidence threshold with the top-down progressive deepening approach for generating patterns and utilizing the apriori property. To validate the model, an online purchasing scenario of books through e-commerce-based online shopping platforms such as Amazon has been considered and shown that how the various factors contributed towards building hesitation to purchase a book at the time of purchasing. The present work suggests a novel way for deriving hesitated patterns from multiple levels in the conceptual hierarchy with respect to the target dataset. Moreover, it is observed that the concepts and theories available in the existing related work Lu and Ng (2007) are only focusing on the introductory aspect of vague set theory-based hesitation association rule mining, which is not useful for handling the patterns from multiple levels of granularity, while the proposed model is complete in nature and addresses the very significant and untouched problem of mining “multilevel hesitated patterns” and is certainly useful for exploring the hesitated patterns from multiple levels of granularity based on the considered hesitation status in a transactional dataset. These hesitated patterns can be further utilized by decision makers and business analysts to build the strategy on how to increase the attraction level of such hesitated items (appeared in a particular transaction/set of transactions in a given dataset) to convert their state from hesitated to preferred items.

Abstract:
Abstract One of the actions that affect the quality of life of the family as a complex system of relationships is interpersonal communication that takes place between the members of the family. In line with the transactional analysis, the trend in psychology founded by E. Berne, relationships between individuals should be based on honest and open disclosure of one’s desires and attitudes, i.e. variety of transactions. Otherwise, there are specific game leading to maintain and increase the distance between family members, weaken the ties between them and leading to a reduction in the quality of interpersonal relationships. The paper below aims to make closer the problems of transactional analysis, beginning from the explanation of the structure of “Ego” according to Berne and the terms “transactions”, “reinforcement” and “life scripts”. There will be presented also games played in family environment and their consequences for the proper functioning of the family.

Abstract:
Money laundering refers to the act of disguising the proceeds of illegal activities as legitimate funds. This is a significant problem as it enables criminals to profit from illegal activities and finance further criminal endeavors. Money laundering is also linked to other crimes, such as drug trafficking, terrorism financing, and corruption. To combat money laundering, governments and financial institutions have implemented various measures, such as Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, and the use of financial intelligence units. However, the existing money laundering system is complex, making it difficult to detect and prevent money laundering activities. Many current systems rely on outdated technology and manual processes, which can be time-consuming and prone to error. Therefore, there is a need for effective detection and prevention systems that can identify suspicious transactions and patterns of behavior. This project aims to prevent and detect money laundering activities by identifying suspicious transactions and monitoring the movement of funds through the financial system. The proposed system uses Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) to detect and prevent money laundering activities. By analyzing the data in a time-series format, LSTM can identify unusual patterns of transactions and flag them for further investigation. LSTM can also predict future trends in financial data, allowing for the detection and prevention of potential money laundering activities before they occur. The proposed transactional network and behavior analysis system provides a more efficient and accurate method for identifying potential money laundering activities. This system can ultimately lead to a more effective and efficient anti-money laundering system. Abstract:
The article studies the historical and logical relationship of the transformational and transactional functions of economic activity: it determines the belonging of the abovementioned concepts to the categorical core of economic science; it specifies their characteristics and volume; examines the features of realization of the studied functions in various historical conditions. As the primary method, we used the structural-logical analysis of empirical and theoretical research results on the topics covered. Transformational activity, according to the author, expresses the dialectical unity of production and consumption. The transaction is analyzed as a technological (O. Williamson) and/or legal (J. Commons) link between these processes. The origin of transactions is associated with the emergence of a transformational surplus designed to meet rising needs. The available historical and ethnographic data allows us to trace this phenomenon retrospectively to the moment of the formation of social production. The economic content of transactions is derived from the dual nature of transformational activities aimed at (1) the creation of material products and (2) the objectification of technological information that determines distribution (transport, trade, housing and communal services, etc.). Their implementation is provided by administrative and legal services expressing ownership of the exchanged goods. It increased the efficiency of transactional support of human life with the use of money as a virtual bearer of economic information and a universal measure of the value of a commodity. In conclusion, the author raises a question about the nature of technological and economic shifts in the modern market economy, coinciding with the outstripping growth of transaction costs. Using the world-system approach of F. Braudel makes it possible to put forward a hypothesis about the transactional revolution that preceded the industrial revolution and is manifested in the rapid increase in financial assets.

Abstract:
PurposeThis paper aims to report on signs of public awareness and empowerment among the general public that are presumed to determine the viability of the smart contracting (SC) approach and identifies prevailing concerns regarding individual transactional experiences.Design/methodology/approachA mixed approach was followed to explore perceptions of self-regulation and transaction friendliness by using an interpretative multiple case study method and by presenting a descriptive summative analysis of the data.FindingsOn self-regulation, the study reveals spread awareness, empowerment, contractual competences and responsibility. Regarding transaction friendliness, subject matter influences transaction experiences the most, and trust and engagement are the most problematic factors. The findings support the viability of SC, endorsing the application of proactive perspectives in legal and managerial practice.Research limitations/implicationsThe study confirms the foundational assumptions of SC, identifies key transactional issues that should be further addressed to improve the functionality of digital trade environments and contributes to the consolidation of the legal design research field on transaction usability.Practical implicationsThe findings point to the viability of SC. Organizations and practitioners are given indications on transaction upgrade priorities and invited to adopt and help disseminate the proposal.Social implicationsThe expansion of a collaborative transactional culture can reduce legal disputes, improving the legal environment of business and strengthening private governance regulatory models.Originality/valueThis is the first empirical study on the viability conditions of the SC-approach, identifying transactional usability testing and intervention priorities.

Abstract:
Facebook's graph store TAO, like many other distributed data stores, traditionally prioritizes availability, efficiency, and scalability over strong consistency or isolation guarantees to serve its large, read-dominant workloads. As product developers build diverse applications on top of this system, they increasingly seek transactional semantics. However, providing advanced features for select applications while preserving the system's overall reliability and performance is a continual challenge. In this paper, we first characterize developer desires for transactions that have emerged over the years and describe the current failure-atomic (i.e., write) transactions offered by TAO. We then explore how to introduce an intuitive read transaction API. We highlight the need for atomic visibility guarantees in this API with a measurement study on potential anomalies that occur without stronger isolation for reads. Our analysis shows that 1 in 1,500 batched reads reflects partial transactional updates, which complicate the developer experience and lead to unexpected results. In response to our findings, we present the RAMP-TAO protocol, a variation based on the Read Atomic Multi-Partition (RAMP) protocols that can be feasibly deployed in production with minimal overhead while ensuring atomic visibility for a read-optimized workload at scale.

Abstract:
The blockchain as the tool was invented together with the Bitcoin and evolving. Despite the fact that new blockchains appeared, like Ethereum and other, the first one was not explored enough from the perspective of understanding dependencies between its elements. Mathematical and cryptographic dependencies are well described in the scientific literature, but dependencies exploration and description in relation to its economical usage of it is still missing. The blockchain structure and mechanics provide that transaction registered within the blockchain are not free for the final user. The transaction price in the Blockchain exists. This transaction price can be decisive for the implementation of a project using blockchain. Understanding factors, which affect this price forming helps to understand frames, when usage of the blockchain is effective. Taking into account all above mentioned, one of the targets of this article is to analyze the life cycle of transactions in the blockchain and determine the factors that have a significant impact on the formation of the transaction price in the Bitcoin Blockchain. From the other hand blockchain assumed as the competitor or even “killer” of the traditional payment systems. There is the list of elements, which should be taken in account comparing both approaches for the transaction execution. This list includes comparing deficits and advantages of both systems, like security issues, transaction speed issues and so on. From this perspective based on the comparing the transactional price forming in both systems, author assess the prospects for using transactions in the Blockchain in comparing with the traditional payment systems.

To match the format of IJTARP, we have provided an alternative Abstract and moved the previous paragraph to become part of the Introduction to this article The authors demonstrate through narrative analysis how potent lessons from TA are learned, applied and retained by those receiving relational integrative mentoring. A full account is provided of how transactional analysis is incorporated into such mentoring, including details of specific transactional analysis concepts and how they are used. Research results indicate how mentees particularly value transactional analysis as a language, as well as the usefulness of concepts including ego states, transactions, emotions, psychological games and contracts. The learning by the mentees is demonstrated as applicable to families as well as within the organisational context in which they mentoring was provided. They conclude that the research has demonstrated relational integrative mentoring as a sustainable and significant development programme.
