Abstract:
This article is a review of the publication “Anthology on the Literature of Transbaikalia” (Chita, 2020). It is the first of its kind, intended for students to be used in the integrated course “Transbaikal studies”. The publication was funded by Genesis Company LLC, co-authored by O. E. Nadelyaeva, head of the Competence Development Center of Genesis Company. The anthology includes works by 25 authors from Transbaikalia, including well-known names as well as less familiar ones. The anthology is undoubtedly of interest not only to students, but also to a wide audience. However, the author of the review points out that some fundamental names of Transbaikal literature are left out of the edition: Avvakum, Fedor Baldauf, Alexander Cherkasov, Nikita Sakharov, Konstantin Sedykh, Vasily Balyabin, Zhamyan Baldanzhabon, Nikolay Yashchenko, Oleg Petrov and many others. Not only authors, but the whole periods of Transbaikal history, consecrated in literary works, have dropped out of the reader’s bibliography. Thus, there is not a single work about the time of revolutions, the Civil War, or even the Great Patriotic War (apart from poems). The author notes the discrepancy between the contents of this publication and the basic regional documents (the “Concept” and “Programme”) on the regional component of education, and the need for the educational authorities to monitor the quality of the educational literature. On the positive side, the readiness of private businesses to invest in the publication of educational literature is highlighted. This publication of textbook stands out against the general background of successful development of the integrated educational course “Transbaikal Studies”. Keywords: Transbaikal Region, anthology on the literature of Transbaikalia, Transbaikal writers, regional component of education, “Transbaikal Studies”

Abstract:
The article examines the emergence process of the advanced development territory «Transbaikalia» using a historical approach. The relevance of the work is due to the need to increase regional policy effectiveness, attract investment and stimulate economic growth in the Transbaikal Territory. The object of the study is the Transbaikal TOP, and the subject is the prerequisites and factors of its formation. The purpose of the study is to identify the key prerequisites and analyze the factors contributing to the creation of a TOP. Research objectives are as follows: analysis of the region’s historical development, potential assessment of the Transbaikal Territory, identification of opportunities to use the benefits of trade for socio-economic development, as well as analysis of social and infrastructural conditions for attracting investment and entrepreneurship development. Methods of historical and comparative analysis, systematization and generalization of data are applied. The economic, social and infrastructural factors influencing the formation of the TOP “Transbaikalia” are considered. Historical, statistical data, regulatory legal acts, analytical materials, online resources, publications in scientific journals have served as materials. Research results: the paper evaluates the experience of implementing preferential regimes, and analyzes the factors determining the results of attracting investments. The process of territory formation is considered in detail, key points and features contributing to its development are highlighted. As a result of the research, the authors have developed a periodization of their own experience in implementing preferential regimes, as well as a systematization of factors that made it possible to identify the prerequisites for the emergence of the Transbaikal TOP. Conclusions: it can be argued that the formation of the advanced development territory “Transbaikalia” is a multidimensional and complex process caused by various factors. A clear understanding of the prerequisites for the Transbaikal Territory emergence and the main factors of its formation allows the region to effectively develop and implement development strategies focused on creating a favorable investment and business environment.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the research of Transbaikal painting history in the context of regional fine arts formation, artistic direction development. The Transbaikal art features are connected with region’s distance from cultural centers. Transbaikal painting has formed as result of penetration Russian art traditions and influence of regional national cultures. It’s possible to conditionally distinguish several stages in the history of Transbaikal painting. The first stage of formation (18th–19th centuries) was associated with creativity of visiting artists and with emergence of self-educated artists. The drawings were being made during the ethnographic expeditions in Siberia, also the Decemberists made their contribution. Besides, the icon painting was presented. The Transbaikal visual art heyday (the 2nd stage, 20th century) was presented with period of creativity and exhibition activities activation of the 20th century beginning, period of war years’ poster art, and period of realistic painting heyday. A lot of various in colorit landscapes were made in period of realistic painting heyday (the middle and second half of the 20th century). These are open spaces, steppes, roads, lyrical overcast landscapes, majestic north Transbaikalia and Buryatia mountains, landscapes of the Lake Baikal. The plot and historical paintings were being depicted scenes of Soviet reality, events of the region history and culture. Socialist realism was reflected in portraits and in subject painting, works of “austere style” were created. Individual artists with a pronounced style, manner stood out. Paintings were created with decorative, symbolic, ethnic motifs, impressionistic. At the present stage (beginning of the 21st century) artists of Transbaikalia create in the traditional and modernist direction, in the direction of ethnofuturism. Globalization processes, digitalization stimulate the penetration of creativity various forms into the region, and modern art projects begin to be implemented. System of art education traditions are emerging.

Abstract:
The article considers the aspects of changes in the economic and geographical position (EGP) of the Transbaikal Region at different territorial levels, and the factors that determine it. The aim of the study is to analyze the changes in the EGP of the region in historical retrospect, as well as to determine the possible influence of traditional factors and new factors of the institutional environment on these micro-level processes. It was revealed that there was a change in the emphasis on the importance of the Transbaikal Region at the macro and micro levels: the mineral and geological importance of the region in the country significantly decreased with the transition to market relations, while opportunities for cross-border cooperation with China and Mongolia opened up. Currently, special attention is drawn to factors of an institutional nature that can have a certain impact on the economic development of the territory. The focus of the study is on the micro-level of the region, where the Udokan field development project in the north of the Transbaikal Region is currently being implemented within the framework of the concept of the Territory of Advanced development (TOP) project «Northern Transbaikalia». The authors hypothesize that informal norms determining the economic behaviour of the population can resist state institutions that can influence the change in EGP. This confrontation has not been studied either in the Transbaikal Region or in other subjects of the Far East, where new mechanisms of state administration are being implemented. A fundamental factor in the development of the model territory of the north of the Transbaikal Region is its high resource availability. A significant role in the process of changing the EGP is played by the state Institute of the Territory of Advanced Development (TOP) «Northern Transbaikalia», which corrects the effect of traditional factors due to administrative and tax preferences. Informal institutional factors may be the environmental consequences of the development of the field and their possible impact on the traditional nature management of the indigenous small – numbered peoples of the north of the Transbaikal Region – the Evenks

Abstract:
In comparison with the largest astroblem on the planet Vredeford (50 km2) the East Transbaikal astroblem (90 km2) is presented. The study of astroblems continues for respectively 135 and 345 years. The relevance of the research is the feasibility of the development of the original scientific problem - the trigger factor of endogenous mineralization of a large mining region of Russia. The object of the study is the Earth's crust of South-Eastern Transbaikalia to a depth of 15-20 km, the ring-block structure of which directly indicates the formation of impaction structure, and the subject - the features of the deep structure of ore-bearing structure. The aim of the study is genetic types of mineralization, and the main task to be solved is the regularities of spatial location of ore objects of different ranks. Both impact Proterozoic structures are comparable in size, represented by unique uranium-gold hydrothermal-metasomatic deposits of the Vitvatersrand Province and numerous multi-metal deposits of 45 ore formations of South-Eastern Transbaikalia - derivatives of respectively impact-hydrothermal (Vitvatersrand) and impact-magmatic, impact-hydrothermal, impact-metamorphic genetic types. Significant differences of ore provinces are due to the peculiarities of the geological structure of the regions and manifestation in Transbaikalia of the processes of Mesozoic oceanization of the Earth's crust, with which the main ore mineralization is associated. The system of 9 fluid-permeable zones developed on the basis of impact fractures is ore-bearing in the Transbaikal astroblem. Abnormally high depth and permeability for ore-bearing solutions are areas of intersection, junction zones. They contain localized mineralization in the rank of ore districts (structures of the fourth order), ore knots (structures of the fifth order), ore fields and deposits (structures of the sixth and seventh orders, respectively)

Abstract:
This article presents an investigation of the mass mentality, which exists under the influence of the Russian-Chinese transboundary relation within the territory of Transbaikalia. We have also investigated the peculiarities in the perception, of the Transbaikal population within this region, regarding the image of China and its culture. This research defines the essence of such notions as, “mentality of Transbaikal citizens” and “mythological image.”The objective of this research is to conduct a complex study of the phenomenal mythology, with respect to China, in the territory of Transbaikalia. We have identified five major factors influencing the construction and reproduction of the Chinese mythological images. As a result of this work, we have come to a conclusion that the phenomenon known as “cultural boundaries of China,” which acted as a barrier, also served as a melting pot for different cultures and languages, thereby forming the most active zone for Chinese myth creation.

The аrticle is devoted to identification of features of verbal shaping in the language of the Transbaikal monuments of the business writing of the 17–18th centuries and to consideration of its alternativeness in aspect of formation of grammatical norms in synchronic opposition of the Russian of the center and the periphery and diachronic opposition of the Transbaikal speech usage of the 17–18th centuries and the modern period. It is established that in the majority of the Transbaikal business documents the happened transition to the new system of verbal forms of an infinitive, time in an indicative mood is noted. In general features of the use of new and archaic verbal forms are caused by a complex of factors, in particular a document genre, banality of his structural components, the nature of the stated events, reflection of the dialect phenomena from the Transbaikal colloquial usage of that time is less often shown. The comparative analysis of verbal forms of of regional business written ususes of the 17–18th centuries revealed in verb formation and use in the business monuments of Nerchinsk, Transbaikalia normalizators trends, General trends emerging written business language in the centre and a number of Russian regions. The processes of unification follow the General Russian trend towards unification in the system of verbal formation. The results of this research supplement and expand scientific information on language morphological processes in the formed standard business language in the center and regional options.

Abstract:
The aim of the study is to analyze the phenotypic parameters of the Evenk reindeer of the Transbaikal population in a comparative time aspect and to establish correlations that should be taken into account when selecting this group of reindeer. The phenotype of 50 domestic reindeer of the Transbaikal Region belonging to the Evenk breed was studied. The material was collected in the Kalarsky District of the Transbaikal Region. The age and sex of the reindeer were determined by their appearance and by interviewing the animal owners. Measurements were taken in three age and sex groups of reindeer: adult males (n = 15) and females (n = 25) and 10-month-old calves (n = 10) using generally accepted zootechnical methods modified by the Far North Research Institute of Agriculture. A total of 8 measurements were taken (the elbow height measurement was obtained by subtracting the chest depth from the withers height). The total number of animals examined was 50 heads, including 15 bulls, 25 females and 10 heads of 10-month-old young animals. Comparative zootechnical analysis of changes in live weight, linear dimensions and body indices of animals over the previous 50 years showed that the Transbaikal reindeer did not undergo significant phenotype transformation during the specified period. The identified differences should be considered modification-related and have no hereditary basis. Live weight of reindeer of the main age and sex groups (bulls, females and young animals) meets the requirements of the breed standard for the Evenk breed. Correlation phenotypic analysis showed that the number of significant correlations between measurements and live weight of high and medium size in the bull group is 30 out of 35 pairs of features. In the female group, there are 14 such correlations, in the young animals – 5 out of 35 pairs of features. The analysis of body type indices and pair correlations gives grounds to recommend that bulls and females of Transbaikalia should be selected primarily for live weight and eirisomic body type. In further selection of Transbaikal reindeer, it is necessary to take into account the data we have obtained on the phenotype and correlation dependence of the features.

Abstract:
The article provides a comparative analysis of the main results of the elections to the regional parliaments of the Republic of Buryatia and the Transbaikal Region. The conducted analysis actualizes the study. The object of the study is the regional election campaign for the election of deputies of the regional legislative authorities of the Republic of Buryatia and the Transbaikal Region. The purpose of the study is a comparative analysis of the course and results of elections to regional parliaments, identification of common and distinct features and peculiarities. In accordance with the set goal, the tasks are defined: to identify the main features of the indicators for the nomination of candidates for the post of deputies of regional legislative bodies in the Republic of Buryatia and the Transbaikal Region; to determine the main features of the election campaign in the Republic of Buryatia and the Transbaikal Region. The methodological basis of the research is the institutional approach. As the authors note, there have been quite significant changes compared to the 2022 elections. Firstly, the composition of participants in the electoral competition has changed, in particular, not only the share of non-party nominees has decreased, but also the number of candidates from non-systemic political parties. Secondly, there has been a consolidation of society, as a result of which the positions of the “party of power” strengthened and the possibilities of minority parties weakened. This has also affected the governance of the parliament, which has become more “obedient”. At the same time, each region has its own characteristics. In Buryatia, compared with the Transbaikal Region, a much smaller number of political parties participated in the electoral race and the possibilities of the “party of power” are somewhat higher. At the same time, the New People party joined the parliament in the parliamentary elections in Buryatia, but not in Transbaikalia. These and other circumstances allow us to speak about the beginning of a new stage in the development of political parties, where the positions of the “party of power” are once again strengthening and opposition forces are weakening. It is concluded that the role of regional branches of political parties in the political space of Russian regions is increasingly being minimized.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the identification and analysis of the reform of municipal territories in the Transbaikal Territory, which actualizes the problem of political subjectivity. The article is of a controversial nature, since the tendencies of territorial development issues in the modern period have controversial points related to the unification of municipalities. The urgency of the problem is due to the formation of municipal districts and the need to generalize their practical experience of functioning. The problem is actualized by the fact that the base of the Priargunsky municipal district. In 2020 the Priargunsky municipal district was created, which requires the development of a unified municipal system and taking into account the municipal changes in Transbaikalia, primarily within the framework of the “Electronic Municipality” program. The purpose of the article: analyzing the political subjectivity of the Transbaikal Territory, to characterize the changes in local self-government bodies, taking into account the information openness of municipalities. Practice confirms that the low efficiency of the enlargement of municipal territories and the creation of municipal districts in the underdeveloped, depressed constituent entity of the Russian Federation, the Transbaikal Territory, is obvious. The article describes the relationship between administrative and public administration with the implementation of federal target programs and with the implementation of state and municipal decisions. Political subjectivity is inextricably linked with administrative and public administration, which is focused on a centralized system of leadership and is identical with the concept of “executive power”, and also has many similarities with state policy. Administrative and public administration is an imperative and administrative activity, which is implemented in normative (soft) and hard (prohibitions, orders) forms. The system of administrative and public administration includes the entire structure of government bodies and is focused on executive bodies of both federal and regional levels and on local government institutions. The novelty of the study is due to the fact that the complexity of the municipal territories of Transbaikalia is revealed; the incompleteness of the municipal reform is characterized from the point of view of managerial development and the need to take into account the strategic approach to territorial administration. The scientific significance of the article is emphasized by the identified interrelationships of administrative-state management and local self-government in the reform of municipal territories in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, one of which is the Transbaikal Territory

Abstract:

Abstract:
Nomadic Pastoralism among the Mongol Herders: Multispecies and Spatial Ethnography in Mongolia and Transbaikalia is based on anthropological research carried out by the author between 2008 and 2016 and addresses the spatial features of nomadic pastoralism among the Mongol herders of Mongolia and Southern Siberia from a cross-comparative perspective. In addition to classical methods of survey, Charlotte Marchina innovatively used GPS recordings to analyze the ways in which pastoralists envision and concretely occupy the landscape, which they share with their animals and invisible entities. The data, represented in abundant and original cartography, provides a better understanding of the mutual adaptations of both herders and animals in the common use of unfenced pastures, not only between different herders but between different species. The author also highlights the herders' adaptive strategies at a time of rapid sociopolitical and environmental changes in this area of the world.

Abstract:
The book Russian Folklore on the Hills of Manchuria is the result of many years of field research by the author aimed at recording and studying the folklore of Chinese Russians living in the urban district of Ergun, Hulunbuir aimag, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China, located on the border with the Trans-Baikal region of the Russian Federation. The older generation of Chinese-Russian “mestizos” preserved the language and folk repertoire of their Russian mothers and grandmothers who came to China after the Civil War (1918-1922) and before the era of rapid socio-political and economic change in the USSR. Russian Folklore on the Hills of Manchuria presents tales, mythological stories, legends, songs, charms and “chastushki” of the Chinese Russians in Manchuria for the first time. This is the most complete collection of their folklore, which for almost a century has existed in isolation from the maternal tradition of Eastern Transbaikal. Developing independently and assimilating foreign ethnic elements, this tradition has nevertheless preserved genre forms characteristic of the oral literature of Russian inhabitants of the Transbaikal Region of the turn of the 19th-20th centuries. The book is intended for folklorists, linguists, ethnologists, ethno-musicologists, culturologists, and researchers of the Russian-Chinese borderlands.

Abstract:
Micromorphological features of salt-affected soils in the Cis-Baikal and Trans-Baikal regions (south of East Siberia, Russia) are considered. When studying morphogenesis of these soils, pedofeatures of soluble salts and gypsum serve as indicators of modern and former stages of soil formation. Comparative-geographical, micromorphological, and chemical methods have been applied to study soil salinization. Chemical analyses attest to the presence of gypsum and soluble salts in solonchaks of both regions. However, they do not allow us to judge the direction of modern soil salinization processes. Micromorphological method makes it possible to specify the genesis of salt pedofeatures. When comparing microfabrics of solonchaks in the Cis-Baikal and Trans-Baikal regions, the features attesting to their different geneses have been identified. Thus, in the solonchak from the Priolkhonye area (Cis-Baikal region), gypsum pedofeatures were formed during previous stages of soil formation and are now subjected to destruction. At the same time, the accumulation of soluble salts is still active in this soil. Analysis of the microstructure of the soil profile of the meadow-marsh saline soil of Transbaikalia showed the presence of both processes currently underway - both gypsum formation and salt accumulation in the soil profile.

Abstract:
The activity of mining complexes leads to the formation of large volumes of mineral waste, and the Trans-Baikal region was no exception, on the territory of which, according to data for 2018, operating enterprises accumulated 725.5 million tons of waste. Overburden dumps, out-of-balance and substandard ores, as well as enrichment tailings, are a serious problem for the environment. In total, there are more than 30 tailing dumps on the territory of the Trans-Baikal Territory, of which 12 currently remain ownerless and pose a serious threat to the environment of settlements located in close proximity to man-made objects. Such objects are dangerous, first of all, by spreading dustlike particles to nearby territories, often containing toxic and radioactive elements, as well as heavy metals. It requires the use of special technologies adapted to the climatic conditions of the territory of Transbaikalia. In this regard, studies were carried out on the possibility of reclamation / conservation of the tailing dump of the Sherlovogorsky GOK, located in close proximity to the town of Sherlovaya Gora, Transbaikal region.
