Abstract:
This paper deals with transformations from electrocardiographic (ECG) to vectorcardiographic (VCG) leads. VCG provides better sensitivity, for example for the detection of myocardial infarction, ischemia, and hypertrophy. However, in clinical practice, measurement of VCG is not usually used because it requires additional electrodes placed on the patient’s body. Instead, mathematical transformations are used for deriving VCG from 12-leads ECG. In this work, Kors quasi-orthogonal transformation, inverse Dower transformation, Kors regression transformation, and linear regression-based transformations for deriving P wave (PLSV) and QRS complex (QLSV) are implemented and compared. These transformation methods were not yet compared before, so we have selected them for this paper. Transformation methods were compared for the data from the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) database and their accuracy was evaluated using a mean squared error (MSE) and a correlation coefficient (R) between the derived and directly measured Frank’s leads. Based on the statistical analysis, Kors regression transformation was significantly more accurate for the derivation of the X and Y leads than the others. For the Z lead, there were no statistically significant differences in the medians between Kors regression transformation and the PLSV and QLSV methods. This paper thoroughly compared multiple VCG transformation methods to conventional VCG Frank’s orthogonal lead system, used in clinical practice.

The semigroup OT (X) of all order-preserving total transformations of a finite chain X is known to be regular. We extend this result to subchains of Z; and we characterise when OT (X) is regular for an interval X in R. We also consider the corresponding idea for partial transformations of arbitrary chains and posets.

Abstract:
AbstractThe β-transformation ƒβ(x) = βx(mod 1), for β > 1, has a symbolic dynamics generalizing radix expansions to an integer base. Two important invariants of ƒβ are the (Artin-Mazur) zeta functionwhere Pk counts the number of fixed points of , and the lap-counting function where Lk counts the number of monotonic pieces of the kth iterate . For β-transformations these functions are related by ζβ(z) = (1 − z)Lβ(z). The function ζβ(z) is meromorphic in the unit disk, is holomorphic in {z: |z| < 1/β}, has a simple pole at z = 1/β, and has no other singularities with |z| = 1/β. Let M(β) denote the minimum modulus of any pole of ζβ(z) in |z| < 1 other than z = 1/β, and set M(β) = 1 if no other pole exists with |z| < 1. Then Pk = βk + O((M(β)−1+ε)k) for any ε > 0. This paper shows that M(β) is a continuous function, that ( for all β, and that An asymptotic formula is derived for M(β) as β → 1+, which implies that M(β) < 1 for all β in an interval (1, 1 + c0). The set is shown to have properties analogous to the set of Pisot numbers. It is closed, totally disconnected, has smallest element ≥ 1 + C0 and contains infinitely many β falling in each interval [n, n + 1) for n ∈ ℤ+. All known members of are algebraic integers which are either Pisot or Salem numbers.

Abstract:
A comprehensive study of the generalized Lambert series $\sum _{n=1}^{\infty }\frac{n^{N-2h}\text{exp}(-an^{N}x)}{1-\text{exp}(-n^{N}x)},0<a\leqslant 1,~x>0$, $N\in \mathbb{N}$ and $h\in \mathbb{Z}$, is undertaken. Several new transformations of this series are derived using a deep result on Raabe’s cosine transform that we obtain here. Three of these transformations lead to two-parameter generalizations of Ramanujan’s famous formula for $\unicode[STIX]{x1D701}(2m+1)$ for $m>0$, the transformation formula for the logarithm of the Dedekind eta function and Wigert’s formula for $\unicode[STIX]{x1D701}(1/N),N$ even. Numerous important special cases of our transformations are derived, for example, a result generalizing the modular relation between the Eisenstein series $E_{2}(z)$ and $E_{2}(-1/z)$. An identity relating $\unicode[STIX]{x1D701}(2N+1),\unicode[STIX]{x1D701}(4N+1),\ldots ,\unicode[STIX]{x1D701}(2Nm+1)$ is obtained for $N$ odd and $m\in \mathbb{N}$. In particular, this gives a beautiful relation between $\unicode[STIX]{x1D701}(3),\unicode[STIX]{x1D701}(5),\unicode[STIX]{x1D701}(7),\unicode[STIX]{x1D701}(9)$ and $\unicode[STIX]{x1D701}(11)$. New results involving infinite series of hyperbolic functions with $n^{2}$ in their arguments, which are analogous to those of Ramanujan and Klusch, are obtained.

AbstractIt is pointed out that the generalized Lambert series $\sum\nolimits_{n = 1}^\infty {[(n^{N-2h})/(e^{n^Nx}-1)]} $ studied by Kanemitsu, Tanigawa and Yoshimoto can be found on page 332 of Ramanujan's Lost Notebook in a slightly more general form. We extend an important transformation of this series obtained by Kanemitsu, Tanigawa and Yoshimoto by removing restrictions on the parameters N and h that they impose. From our extension we deduce a beautiful new generalization of Ramanujan's famous formula for odd zeta values which, for N odd and m > 0, gives a relation between ζ(2m + 1) and ζ(2Nm + 1). A result complementary to the aforementioned generalization is obtained for any even N and m ∈ ℤ. It generalizes a transformation of Wigert and can be regarded as a formula for ζ(2m + 1 − 1/N). Applications of these transformations include a generalization of the transformation for the logarithm of Dedekind eta-function η(z), Zudilin- and Rivoal-type results on transcendence of certain values, and a transcendence criterion for Euler's constant γ.

AbstractLet α and β be two Furstenberg transformations on 2-torus associated with irrational numbers θ1, θ2, integers d1, d2 and Lipschitz functions f1 and f2. It is shown that α and β are approximately conjugate in ameasure theoretical sense if (and only if) θ1 ± θ2 = 0 in R/Z. Closely related to the classification of simple amenable C*-algebras, it is shown that α and β are approximately K-conjugate if (and only if) θ1 ± θ2 = 0 in R/Z and |d1| = |d2|. This is also shown to be equivalent to the condition that the associated crossed product C*-algebras are isomorphic.

Abstract:
We consider naturally occurring, uncountable transformation semigroups S and investigate the following three questions. (i) Is every countable subset F of S also a subset of a finitely generated subsemigroup of S? If so, what is the least number n such that for every countable subset F of S there exist n elements of S that generate a subsemigroup of S containing F as a subset. (ii) Given a subset U of S, what is the least cardinality of a subset A of S such that the union of A and U is a generating set for S? (iii) Define a preorder relation ≤ on the subsets of S as follows. For subsets V and W of S write V ≤ W if there exists a countable subset C of S such that V is contained in the semigroup generated by the union of W and C. Given a subset U of S, where does U lie in the preorder ≤ on subsets of S? Semigroups S for which we answer question (i) include: the semigroups of the injec- tive functions and the surjective functions on a countably infinite set; the semigroups of the increasing functions, the Lebesgue measurable functions, and the differentiable functions on the closed unit interval [0, 1]; and the endomorphism semigroup of the random graph. We investigate questions (ii) and (iii) in the case where S is the semigroup Ω[superscript Ω] of all functions on a countably infinite set Ω. Subsets U of Ω[superscript Ω] under consideration are semigroups of Lipschitz functions on Ω with respect to discrete metrics on Ω and semigroups of endomorphisms of binary relations on Ω such as graphs or preorders.

Abstract:

Abstract:
[Truncated abstract] One common task in Computer Vision is the estimation of three-dimensional surface shape from two-dimensional images. This task is important as a precursor to higher level tasks such as object recognition - since shape of an object gives clues to what the object is - and object modelling for graphics. Many visual cues have been suggested in the literature to provide shape information, including the shading of an object, its occluding contours (the outline of the object that slants away from the viewer) and its appearance from two or more views. If the image exhibits a significant amount of texture, then this too may be used as a shape cue. Here, ‘texture’ is taken to mean the pattern on the surface of the object, such as the dots on a pear, or the tartan pattern on a tablecloth. This problem of estimating the shape of an object based on its texture is referred to as shape-form-texture and it is the subject of this thesis . . . The work in this thesis is likely to impact in a number of ways. The second shape-form-texture algorithm provides one of the most general solutions to the problem. On the other hand, if the assumptions of the first shape-form-texture algorithm are met, this algorithm provides an extremely usable method, in that users should be able to input images of textured objects and click on the frontal texture to quickly reconstruct a fairly good estimation of the surface. And lastly, the algorithm for estimating the transformation between textures can be used as a part of many shape-form-texture algorithms, as well as being useful in other areas of Computer Vision. This thesis gives two examples of other applications for the method: re-texturing an object and placing objects in a scene.

Abstract:
Many physical properties depend on direction and the resulting anisotropy is best described with the use of tensors. Tensors are classified according to how they transform from one coordinate system to another. Therefore, we begin by describing transformations. There are several reasons why we want to do this: (1) transformations help us define tensors, (2) these tensors can be used to describe physical properties, (3) the effects of symmetry on physical properties can be determined by howthe tensor transforms under a symmetry operation, (4) the magnitude of a property in any arbitrary direction can be evaluated by transforming the tensor, (5) using these numbers, we can draw a geometric representation of the property, and (6) the transformation procedure provides a way of averaging the properties over direction. This is useful when relating the properties of polycrystalline materials to those of the single crystal. Mathematically, there is nothing fancy about these transformations. We are simply converting one set of orthogonal axes (Z1, Z2, Z3) into another (Z'1, Z'2, Z'3). The two sets of axes are related to one another by nine direction cosines: a11, a12, a13, a21, a22, a23, a31, a32, and a33. Collectively all nine can be written as aij where i, j = 1, 2, 3. The axes and direction cosines are illustrated in Fig. 2.1. It is important not to confuse the subscripts of the direction cosines. As defined in the drawing, a12 is the cosine of the angle between Z'1 and Z2, whereas a21 is the cosine of the angle between Z'2 and Z1. The first subscript always refers to the “new” or transformed axis. The second subscript is the “old” or original axis. The original or starting axes is usually a right-handed set, but it need not be. The transformed “new” axes may be either right- or left-handed, depending on the nature of the transformation. This will become clearer when we look at some transformations representing various symmetry operations. In any case, both the old and new axes are orthogonal.

Abstract:
Along with the developing technology and the social risks human faces, the society’s trends towards digital technology is inevitable. Undoubtedly, the interest of individuals in digital technologies has directly affected all sectors. The transformation of societies depending on their technological needs and conveniences offered by technology has formed new supply-demand balances, and sectoral changes have occurred in line with the demands of the society that was formed by the supply-demand balance. From a sectoral point of view, communication and related technologies have also been affected by all these transformations. Major developments in communication technologies have also led to changes in all sub-disciplines that are dependent on it. These changes have been so great that it has become necessary to explain separately and academically each of them. As a new and spreading technology, virtual reality technology is considered as a new opportunity by means of its key concept definitions and the successful implementation of both communication and educational processes. Especially, considering the qualities of generation Z, and the fact that the education processes are for generation Z; the probability of success of an education process by using virtual reality technology can be expected to increase. In this context, a study named “Four Model Museum” was carried out within the body of Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Communication, New Media Applications and Research Center, which uses virtual reality technology and targets Public Relations undergraduate students. Within the scope of the study, the curricula prepared for Public Relations students were examined and four Models in Public Relations, which were considered as suitable subjects, were selected. Scenarios were prepared in the context of selected topics and sound were recorded in recording studios of Istanbul Aydın University, department of Radio, Television, and Cinema. Adhering to the scenario, 3D models, coatings, and finally, virtual reality software were developed. In this study, the scenario and content of the virtual reality education software named "Four Model Museum" were examined and analyzed within the framework of communication science.

Abstract:
Historic-geographical and Typo-morphological assessment of Lefke town, North Cyprus Sanaz Nezhadmasoum¹, Nevter Zafer Comert² Department of Architecture. Eastern Mediterranean University. Famagusta. North Cyprus.Via Mersin 10. Turkey E-mail: sanaz.nezhadmasoum@gmail.com, nzafer@gmail.com Keywords: Historic-geographic approach, Typo-morphology, Urban form, Lefke town Conference topics and scale: Urban morphological methods and techniques Morphological analysis in cities have been employed to conduct the research on the urban form and fabric of the place, that helps to determine the conservation plans or strategies of towns that reveal clues to their own history (Whithand,2001). Such analysis methods are a process that reviews the evolution and evaluation of towns throughout history. This paper focuses on, Conzen’s and Caniggia’s ideas, MRG Conzen’s historic-geographical approaches (1968) on planning level and Caniggia’s typo-morphological process (2001) on architectural level. Those methodologies help to understand the transformation procedure of different regions of city throughout the years and recovering how the city elements and urban hierarchy are interrelated. Additionally, the focus of this paper is to study the town’s morphological transformations, regarding its spatial, geographical and historical combinations. Within this context, Geographical and historical surveys done on the whole town of Lefke, in north-west Cyprus, and a detailed explanation on the typo-morphological analyses of some particular regions will be given in this article. One of the significant character that makes the town unique is its historical background which lay down with an organic urban pattern from Ottoman period. Lefke town was first formed with a medieval character, and through centuries of functional and physical transformations, has been highly influenced by British extensions, which were either prearranged modifications affected by socio- natural, economic, and political situations, or instinctive and spontaneous changes. All these historical factors, along with its geographical features, make Lefke an interesting case to be studied with an urban typo-morphological approach. Abstract:
Marinilla´s cultural landscape and spacial characterization (Colombia). Catalina Montoya Arenas¹, Lina María Escobar Ocampo¹, Claudia Maria Venegas Velez¹ ¹Facultad de Arquitectura, UPB. Circular 1 N°70-01 Medellin, Colombia. E-mail: catalina.montoyaarenas@upb.edu.co, lina.escobar@upb.edu.co, claudia.ve7@gmail.com Keywords (3-5): Cultural landscape, social management, heritage, spacial transformations, tourism Conference topics and scale: Stages in territorial configuration The historic center of Marinilla, National Monument since 1959, is located sixty minutes from Medellin at San Nicolas Valley. It has exceptional landscape conditions, highly productive lands, and a large percentage of the water reserve that supplies the region and the country, giving the territory an economic center character since the colony. These physical values make part of collective imagination as a recreation area and an opportunity for development in the 1960s, according to the construction of large national infrastructure works. At the same time, it was object of armed conflict in the 1980s and 1990s, and more recently, directly related to the spatial dynamics of the region: unplanned urban expansion, changes in land use and vegetation cover, with effects on the cultural landscape. In a post-conflict situation, the economic strategies of different actors trust on tourism as a social-spatial management strategy to improve the territory. However, the identity of rurality shows spatial imbalances without recognizing elements of historical construction whose legacies must be revealed to ensure equitable development. To do this, we propose an approach from the cultural landscape in a revision of the historical, symbolic and relational transformation through five systems (anthropic, productive, political, symbolic and spatial), analyzing competitiveness, tourism, landscape and social management, in different scales and during three historical moments.
