This study examines the impact of transport infrastructure on the economic growth of South Africa from the period 1970 to 2015. The researcher adopted a conceptual and theoretical framework related to infrastructure development and economic growth. The Johansen multivariate Co-integration and Granger causality test were adopted, consisting of stationary and directional causality of variables. The findings disclosed a strong unidirectional causality relationship in the long run between economic growth and gross domestic fixed capital formation, which runs from the former to the latter. This is primarily due to the fact that other means of surface transportation like rail and navigable rivers are not well developed.

In times when capacities of roads are starting to run out, it is necessary to search for any alternatives with environmental protection in mind. One of the options is to move some of the road freight transport to railways. One of the possible ways to achieve it is by using Public logistics centres. This concept is already in use in Western Europe and the demand for building terminals of combined transport is growing in the Czech Republic as well. The goal of this thesis is to evaluate the potential of PLC and its influence on the regional development based on information from other countries.

This study deals with the relationship between communications networks and economic structure in medium-sized Swedish towns 1850-1970. Medium-sized towns have been defined as those which were ranked 4th-20th in terms of population at two points in time: in the year 1900, when industry had established a foothold and the most important railways had been built, and in the year 1970, at the end of the period studied. This means that the group studied comprises 22 towns. The communications networks which are examined are shipping, railways and roads. The economic structure is studied at various lev

Energy demand projections are essential tools that enable policymakers, engineers, scientists, stakeholders and investors to assess the future energy needs of a country and understand the technical, economic, social and environmental costs associated with meeting this demand. Such tools become further indispensable in the case of developing countries, where past consumption trends alone cannot indicate the trajectory of their future energy demand. Transport is one of the largest consumers of energy among all the end-use sectors. In 2018, it accounted for almost 29% of the total final consumpti
