Abstract:
Theoretischer Hintergrund. Der Tod eines nahestehenden Menschen kann nicht immer problemlos verarbeitet werden und verursacht mitunter Trauerverläufe, die sich kompliziert gestalten und krankheitswertige Symptome hervorrufen (Komplizierte Trauer; KT). In Anbetracht der negativen Folgen für Gesundheit und Lebensqualität ist hier eine professionelle Intervention angezeigt. Aus der Zusammenschau bisheriger Forschungsergebnisse kann trauerspezifische Psychotherapie als die Behandlungsmethode der Wahl bezeichnet werden, wobei diesbezügliche Forschung noch weiterer Bemühungen bedarf. Dazu soll die vorliegende Untersuchung beitragen, indem sie den längerfristigen Therapieerfolg einer neu entwickelten, integrativen kognitiven Verhaltenstherapie für komplizierte Trauer (IKVT-KT) evaluiert. Methode. Die 51 Studienteilnehmer, von denen 37 die IKVT-KT vollständig durchlaufen hatten und 14 vorzeitig ausgeschieden waren, wurden rund 18 Monate nach Therapieende bzw. Dropoutzeitpunkt zu einer Nachuntersuchung eingeladen. Als primäre Outcome-Variable dienten Schweregrad und Diagnose einer KT, als sekundäre die allgemeine psychische Belastung und als tertiäre posttraumatische Belastung sowie Reifung. Die ursprüngliche Wartegruppe wurde mit der Behandlungsgruppe zu einer Gesamtstichprobe zusammengelegt, da sie im Anschluss an die Wartezeit ebenfalls die Behandlung erhalten hatte. Ergebnisse. Die bereits während der Therapiephase deutlich rückgängige Trauersymptomatik konnte von den nachuntersuchten Therapie-Completern (Therapie+Katamnese-Completer) im Verlauf des Katamnesezeitraums nicht nur beibehalten, sondern tendenziell noch weiter verringert werden. Über den Gesamtstudienzeitraum war ihr Symptomrückgang somit sehr stark ausgeprägt (d = 2.22) und der Gruppe der nachuntersuchten Therapieabbrecher/-ablehner (Dropouts) deutlich überlegen, was auch im Rahmen von ITT-Analysen bestätigt werden konnte. Eine Remission im Sinne des Ablegens der KT-Diagnose erlangten bis zur Katamnese 92% der Therapie+Katamnese-Completer und 68% der ITT-Stichprobe, eine sowohl statistisch reliable als auch klinisch bedeutsame Symptomverbesserung war für 65% bzw. 49% der Fall. Außerdem konnten die während der Therapiephase erzielten Symptomrückgänge in allgemeiner psychischer und in posttraumatischer Belastung sowie der erlangte Zuwachs an posttraumatischem Wachstum von den Therapie+Katamnese-Completern während des Katamnese-Intervalls aufrechterhalten werden. Als Prädiktoren des längerfristigen Therapieerfolgs im Sinne des Rückgangs der Trauersymptomschwere erwiesen sich für die Completer eine natürliche Todesursache, eine geringere Anzahl zwanghafter Persönlichkeitsmerkmale und ein größerer Zeitabstand zum Verlust. Schlussfolgerungen. Die IKVT-KT konnte nach einer bereits im Vorfeld erfolgten Evaluation des kurzfristigen Behandlungseffektes im Rahmen der vorliegenden Follow-Up-Studie nun auch ihre längerfristige Wirksamkeit bestätigen. Angesichts der relativ schwer belasteten und mehrfach komorbiden Stichprobe ist dies ein für die klinische Versorgung psychisch kranker Menschen äußerst relevantes und vielversprechendes Ergebnis.

Abstract:
Der Bereich von Sterben, Tod und Trauer gehört als indirekte oder auch direkte Todeswirklichkeit zum Alltag von Vor- und Grundschulkindern. Seit den 1990er Jahren finden diese Themen zunehmend Eingang in die deutschsprachigen Bilderbücher und werden dort anhand verschiedener literarästhetischer Erzählstrategien auf der Text- sowie Bildebene und deren Wechselverhältnis diskutiert. Die vorliegende Untersuchung ordnet das Primärtextkorpus deutschsprachiger Bilderbücher zu Sterben, Tod und Trauer anhand eines untersuchungseigenen inhaltsbezogenen Rubrikenmodelles. Der für die qualitative Beurteilung der untersuchten Bilderbücher entwickelte Katalog von Analysekriterien berücksichtigt sowohl gattungsspezifische Forschungsarbeiten als auch Studien zum Verhältnis von Kind und Tod. Um in den Bilderbüchern tabuisierte, kanonisierte und innovative Erzählstrategien von Tod und Trauer nicht nur herauszuarbeiten, sondern auch komparatistisch in einen europäischen Kontext einzuordnen, wird der Untersuchung deutschsprachiger Bilderbücher die Diskussion der Entwicklung des Themenfeldes im schwedischen Bilderbuch gegenüber gestellt. Das Innovationspotenzial, das ausgewählte seit den 1970er Jahren veröffentlichte schwedische Bilderbücher für die Entwicklung des Themenbereiches Tod und Trauer im deutschsprachigen Bilderbuchmarkt besitzen, wird insbesondere in den Grenzbereichen zwischen tradierten sowie innovativen Erzählstrategien deutlich. Sowohl in den zusammenfassenden Betrachtungen der einzelnen inhaltsbezogenen Unterrubriken, die das deutschsprachige sowie schwedische Primärtextkorpus gliedern, als auch in den einzelanalytischen Abschnitten werden bestehende Kanonisierungs- sowie Tabuisierungstendenzen in Bezug auf die Darstellung einzelner Themenaspekte von Tod und Trauer deutlich, wenngleich diese zunehmend in Auflösung begriffen und in einigen Unterrubriken stärker ausgeprägt sind als in anderen.<br>Dying, death and grief are a direct or indirect part of the reality of preschool and primary school children. Since the 1990s, these topics increasingly find their way into German picture books, where they are discussed using different literary-aesthetic narrative strategies through text and images as well as their interrelationship. The present study maps the primary text corpus of German picture books on dying, death and grief by means of a research-based content-related category model. The catalogue of analytic criteria developed for the qualitative assessment of the examined picture books takes into account both genre-specific research and studies on the attitudes of children toward death. In order not only to elaborate on tabooed, canonized and innovative narrative strategies of death and grief in picture books, but also to place them in a comparative European context, the study of German picture books is set against the discussion of the development of these topics in Swedish picture books. The innovation potential, which selected Swedish picture books published since the 1970s contain for the development of the theme of death and grief in the German picture book market, becomes particularly evident in the border areas between traditional and innovative narrative strategies. Both in the summary of the individual content-related subcategories, which classify the German and Swedish primary text corpuses, as well as in the individual analytic sections, existing tendencies to canonize or taboo with regard to the representation of individual aspects of death and grief become clear, though they are in a process of disintegration and are more pronounced in some subcategories than in others.

Abstract:
Erstmals hat Günter Grass, dessen bisheriges Werk eine Beschäftigung mit den Fragen um Schuld und Scham verfolgte, in seiner Novelle Im Krebsgang die Ambivalenz der "Opfertäter" aus Mitwissern, Mitläufern und Mittätern von NS-Regime und Holocaust einerseits und als traumatisierte Opfer von Krieg, Flucht und Vertreibung andererseits behandelt. Indem der Untergang des "Kraft durch Freude" - Schiffes Wilhelm Gustloff in den Kontext der Geschichte, dem Vorher und dem Nachher der Katastrophe gesetzt wird, rücken die historischen Prozesse in den Blickpunkt, die zu diesem Ereignis geführt haben und die Folgen, die daraus entstanden sind. Dieser "kontextualisierte Ansatz" erfährt insofern eine Beschränkung, als er durch die Perspektive der traumatisierten Opfertäter erfolgt. Durch die Erweiterung des Figurenensembles um eine neue Generation - Konny Pokriefke und Wolfgang Stremplin als Repräsentanten der dritten Nachkriegsgeneration - richtet die Novelle den Blick auf die Gegenwart und Zukunft aus der Vergangenheit und somit implizit auf die historische Verantwortung als Aufgabe für die nachfolgenden Generationen. Seit 1980 hat Grass mit dem Begriff der "Vergegenkunft" gearbeitet, einer Vergangenheit, die ihre Schatten auf die Gegenwart und die Zukunft werfe. Die zunächst durch Schuld und Scham besetzte Vergangenheit wird im Krebsgang erweitert um die Wahrnehmung des Traumas und seiner pathologischen Wirkung. Durch die Einführung der zweiten und dritten Nachkriegsgeneration in der Narration gewinnt die aus der Vergangenheit überschattete Gegenwart und Zukunft eine Form, die die traumabedingten Brüche der Identität als Grund für die Unmöglichkeit der Trauer offenbart. Der Stillstand der Protagonisten, der sich als Wiederholung im finalen Moment des Mordes an Wolfgang Stremplin alias David Frankfurter offenbart, entspringt im Krebsgang nicht einer melancholischen Unfähigkeit zu trauern, weil die Schuld- und Schamgefühle übermächtig sind. Vielmehr scheint das Erstarren der Protagonisten in ihren unmittelbaren und mittelbaren traumatischen Erfahrungen begründet zu sein, die sie in ihrem Bann gefangen halten. Es sind die vermeintlichen Schuld- und Schamgefühle der Nebenprotagonisten, die eine Bearbeitung des Traumas als Vorbedingung der Trauer unmöglich machen.

En utilisant des données haute-fréquence inédites, cette thèse étudie trois types de regroupements (“clusters”) présents dans le marché des changes: la concentration d'ordres sur certains prix, la concentration des transactions dans le temps et l'existence de groupes d'investisseurs prenant les mêmes décisions. Nous commençons par étudier les propriétés statistiques du carnet d'ordres EBS pour les paires de devises EUR/USD et USD/JPY et l'impact d'une réduction de la taille du tick sur sa dynamique. Une grande part des ordres limites est encore placée sur les anciens prix autorisés, entraînant l'apparition de prix-barrières, où figurent les meilleures limites la plupart du temps. Cet effet de congestion se retrouve dans la forme moyenne du carnet où des pics sont présents aux distances entières. Nous montrons que cette concentration des prix est causée par les traders manuels qui se refusent d’utiliser la nouvelle résolution de prix. Les traders automatiques prennent facilement la priorité, en postant des ordres limites un tick devant les pics de volume.Nous soulevons ensuite la question de l'aptitude des processus de Hawkes à rendre compte de la dynamique du marché. Nous analysons la précision de tels processus à mesure que l'intervalle de calibration est augmenté. Différent noyaux construits à partir de sommes d'exponentielles sont systématiquement comparés. Le marché FX qui ne ferme jamais est particulièrement adapté pour notre but, car il permet d’éviter les complications dues à la fermeture nocturne des marchés actions. Nous trouvons que la modélisation est valide selon les trois tests statistiques, si un noyau à deux exponentielles est utilisé pour fitter une heure, et deux ou trois pour une journée complète. Sur de plus longues périodes la modélisation est systématiquement rejetée par les tests à cause de la non-stationnarité du processus endogène. Les échelles de temps d'auto-excitation estimées sont relativement courtes et le facteur d'endogénéité est élevé mais sous-critique autour de 0.8. La majorité des modèles à agents suppose implicitement que les agents interagissent à travers du prix des actifs et des volumes échangés. Certains utilisent explicitement un réseau d'interaction entre traders, sur lequel des rumeurs se propagent, d'autres, un réseau qui représente des groupes prenant des décisions communes. Contrairement à d'autres types de données, de tels réseaux, s'ils existent, sont nécessairement implicites, ce qui rend leur détection compliquée. Nous étudions les transactions des clients de deux fournisseur de liquidités sur plusieurs années. En supposant que les liens entre agents sont déterminés par la synchronisation de leur activité ou inactivité, nous montrons que des réseaux d'interactions existent. De plus, nous trouvons que l'activité de certains agents entraîne systématiquement l’activité d'autres agents, définissant ainsi des relations de type “lead-lag” entre les agents. Cela implique que le flux des clients est prévisible, ce que nous vérifions à l'aide d'une méthode sophistiquée d'apprentissage statistique<br>The aim of this thesis is to study three types of clustering in foreign exchange markets, namely in price, trades arrivals and investors decisions. We investigate the statistical properties of the EBS order book for the EUR/USD and USD/JPY currency pairs and the impact of a ten-fold tick size reduction on its dynamics. A large fraction of limit orders are still placed right at or halfway between the old allowed prices. This generates price barriers where the best quotes lie for much of the time, which causes the emergence of distinct peaks in the average shape of the book at round distances. Furthermore, we argue that this clustering is mainly due to manual traders who remained set to the old price resolution. Automatic traders easily take price priority by submitting limit orders one tick ahead of clusters, as shown by the prominence of buy (sell) limit orders posted with rightmost digit one (nine).The clustering of trades arrivals is well-known in financial markets and Hawkes processes are particularly suited to describe this phenomenon. We raise the question of what part of market dynamics Hawkes processes are able to account for exactly. We document the accuracy of such processes as one varies the time interval of calibration and compare the performance of various types of kernels made up of sums of exponentials. Because of their around-the-clock opening times, FX markets are ideally suited to our aim as they allow us to avoid the complications of the long daily overnight closures of equity markets. One can achieve statistical significance according to three simultaneous tests provided that one uses kernels with two exponentials for fitting an hour at a time, and two or three exponentials for full days, while longer periods could not be fitted within statistical satisfaction because of the non-stationarity of the endogenous process. Fitted timescales are relatively short and endogeneity factor is high but sub-critical at about 0.8.Most agent-based models of financial markets implicitly assume that the agents interact through asset prices and exchanged volumes. Some of them add an explicit trader-trader interaction network on which rumors propagate or that encode groups that take common decisions. Contrarily to other types of data, such networks, if they exist, are necessarily implicit, which makes their determination a more challenging task. We analyze transaction data of all the clients of two liquidity providers, encompassing several years of trading. By assuming that the links between agents are determined by systematic simultaneous activity or inactivity, we show that interaction networks do exist. In addition, we find that the (in)activity of some agents systematically triggers the (in)activity of other traders, defining lead-lag relationships between the agents. This implies that the global investment flux is predictable, which we check by using sophisticated machine learning methods

Abstract:
Background: Cconsiderable proportion of the population experiences major life disruptions after losing a loved one to suicide. Social stigma attached to suicide survivors adds to complications occurring in the course of suicide bereavement. Despite its known risks, stigma related to suicide survivors has been sparsely investigated. Methods: We conducted a systematic literature search in PubMed, Web of Science, PsycInfo and PsyArticles, of studies indexed up through August 2015. Articles were eligible for inclusion if they addressed experiences of stigma in suicide survivors, compared them to other bereavement populations, or investigated stigmatizing attitudes within the public. The search was restricted to English-language studies. Results: 25 records matched inclusion criteria. Study designs were heterogeneous, making comparisons difficult. Results demonstrated that suicide survivors experience stigma in the form of shame, blame, and avoidance. Suicide survivors showed higher levels of stigma than natural death survivors. Stigma was linked to concealment of the death, social withdrawal, reduced psychological and somatic functioning, and grief difficulties. Only one study investigated stigmatizing attitudes towards suicide survivors among the general population. Limitations: Internal and external validity of the studies was restricted by a lack of valid measures and selection bias. Conclusions: More methodologically sound research is needed to understand the impact of stigma on suicide survivors\' grief trajectories and to separate it from other grief aspects. Clinicians and grief-counselors as well as the public should be educated about the persistent stigma experienced by suicide survivors.

Overconfidence and its relationship to investor market participation is well established in the finance literature. The research into investors and social networks is only in its infancy, however. This thesis extends the literature by expanding on both subjects individually, then bringing them together. Empirical work on individual investors in the existing literature links overconfidence and excess trading, resulting in impaired returns. The preferred activity metric, monthly account turnover, encapsulates two separate elements, though. One is trade frequency. The other is leverage use. Chapter 4 of this thesis theorizes based on the existing literature that in fact trade frequency is not a good measure of overconfidence. It then demonstrates through empirical analysis of a group of individual non-professional foreign exchange traders that leverage is much more suitable to that role. Chapter 5 turns the focus to social networks, particularly with respect to information transfer. The literature in finance anticipates that network members benefit from their membership. Further, network position (social capital) enhances that benefit. This thesis challenges that expectation with respect to non-professional investors. Findings based on analysis of members of an online retail foreign exchange trader social network indicate that while there may be an educational benefit accruing to unsophisticated members, for more sophisticated ones membership appears to have a negative effect on returns. One potential explanation for the negative impact of network membership is explored in Chapter 6 in the form of impression management. It is hypothesized that sophisticated investors are influenced in their behaviour by the realization they are being observed, and also the size of their audience. Analysis of foreign exchange traders indicates an increase in leverage use among sophisticated investors as their audience size increases, coinciding with a decline in trade excess returns, making the case for an observation-based rise in overconfidence.

In this paper I briefly present raytracing principles and methods used to accelerate it, modern GPUs programmable pipeline and examples of its use. I describe stream processing in general and available interfaces enabling the usage of GPU as stream processor. Then I present my GPU raytracer implementation, used algorithms and experiments I have made.

The following document proposes a traceability solution for model-driven development. There as been already previous work done in this area, but so far there has not been yet any standardized way for exchanging traceability information, thus the goal of this project developed and documented here is not to automatize the traceability process but to provide an approach to achieve traceability that follows OMG standards, making traceability information exchangeable between tools that follow the same standards. As such, we propose a traceability meta-model as an extension of MetaObject Facility (MOF)1. Using MetaSketch2 modeling language workbench, we present a modeling language for traceability information. This traceability information then can be used for tool cooperation. Using Meta.Tracer (our tool developed for this thesis), we enable the users to establish traceability relationships between different traceability elements and offer a visualization for the traceability information. We then demonstrate the benefits of using a traceability tool on a software development life cycle using a case study. We finalize by commenting on the work developed.<br>Orientador: Leonel Nóbrega
