The morphological characteristics of mitotic interphase, prophase and metaphase nuclei were analysed for 21 taxa in 14 genera from three different tribes of subfamily Cyrtandroideae (Gesneriaceae) from Asia. The subfamily idiocerinae is a moderately large group of the leafhoppers, consisting of two tribes and more than 98 genera 650 species worldwide. So far 57 species under 14 genera of two tribes have been recorded from China. Zyginellini is a smaller tribe in Typhlocybinae. Species in this tribe feed on trees and shrubs, and some species harm economic crops.
