Abstract:
Using the chloride method esters II - X, amides XI - XIV, and condensates with amino acid esters XV - XVII were prepared from 5-(2-amino-6-hydroxy-4-oxo-3,4-dihydro-5-pyrimidinyl)pentanoic acid (I); the amides XIII and XIV were also prepared by aminolysis of ester II. The derivative of glycine, XVIII, was obtained on saponification of ester XV, also obtained by condensation of triethyl ester of N-(6,6-dicarboxyhexanol)glycine (XXIII) with guanidine hydrochloride in a medium containing sodium ethylate. Hydrazinolysis of ethyl ester XXIV gave hydrazine XIX. Disubstituted ureas XX - XXI were obta

Background and Objective: Due to the well-documented anti-proliferative activity of 2-thiohydantoin incorporated with pyrazole, oxadiazole, quinazoline, urea, β-naphthyl carbamate and Schiff bases, they are noteworthy in pharmaceutical chemistry. Methods: An efficient approach for the synthesis of a novel series of 2-thiohydantoin derivatives incorporated with pyrazole and oxadiazole has proceeded via the reaction of the acyl hydrazide with chalcones and/or triethyl orthoformate. Schiff bases were synthesized by the reaction of the acyl hydrazide with different aromatic aldehydes. Moreover, Cu

To date, no fused heterocycles have been formed on folic acid molecules; for this reason, and others, our target is to synthesize new derivatives of folic acid as isolated or fused systems. Folic acid 1 reacted with ethyl pyruvate, triethyl orthoformate, ethyl chloroformate, thioformic acid hydrazide, and aldehydes to give new derivatives of folic acid 2–6a,b. Moreover, It reacted with benzylidene malononitrile, acetylacetone, ninhydrin, ethyl acetoacetate, ethyl cyanoacetate, and ethyl chloroacetate to give the pteridine fused systems 10–15, respectively. Alkaline hydrolysis of ethyl 4-(diethoxyphosphoryl)-4,7-dihydro-5 Н -thiopyrano[3,4- b ]furan-5-carboxylate proceeded selectively at the ester group. The acid obtained formed the corresponding acid chloride when treated with thionyl chloride. The acid chloride was used for acylation of glycine, α- and β-alanine esters. Under the conditions of phase transfer catalysis this acid chloride formed acyl azide which under mild conditions undergoes rearrangement to isocyanate. The latter reacted with primary amines to give ureas, and with the amino acid esters in forms ureidoesters. Reducing of acid c

In this research investigation, a total of eighteen diverse tetra- and penta-lateral cyclic compounds were synthesized. These included 1,3,4-thiadiazole, thiazolidin-4-one (via an alternative method), 1,2,4-triazole, carbothioamide, thiazole-4-one, azetidin-2-one, and oxazole. The synthesis procedure entailed a sequence of reactions. The thiazolidine-4-one 1 was obtained by reaction p-aminobenzoic acid with thiosemicarbazide, followed by treatment with p-tolualdehyde to produce Schiff base 2. Mucuna pruriens also known as velvet beans is an annual climbing shrub that has been claimed traditionally to possess anti anemic potentials. The present study evaluated bioactive constituents and hematological profile of Mucuna pruriens seed and leaf extracts on alloxan induced diabetic male albino rat using standard analytical method. Result of LC-MS investigation on the seed shows the presence of Hydroxystreptozolin ( Oxazolidene) and Dihydrocapsaicin (Meltoxyphe.nol) while the leaf reveals the presence of four(4) bioactive compound: Furocoumurine acid, Epioxylubianin, Acetyllaustoinid and

Background: One of the most researched issues is the elimination of uremic toxins from the human body. These toxins can build up and lead to catastrophic issues including renal failure. To get rid of them, absorbents like activated carbon, zeolites, and other minerals are frequently utilized. Methods: Mesoporous silica nanoparticles functionalized with (3-Aminopropyl) triethox-ysilane (APTES) linker (MSN-NH2) and mesoporous silica nanoparticles grafted with molec-ularly imprinted polymers (MSN-MIP) from the previous study were examined in this study to determine how well they absorbed urea, cr

Abstract:
Recently several developments on the use of lignin and its derivatives as wood adhesive and for other binders have come to the fore in the literature. The novelty of these approaches has been dictated by the well-known low reactivity of lignin with aldehydes in its substitution of phenol in phenol-formaldehyde resins. A brief record of the more recent novelties having being published on the use of lignin in the more traditional field of lignin-phenol-formaldehyde (LPF) adhesive resins is reported. However, this review chapter is more focused on the types of more recent alternative approaches t
