The high frequency dynamic magnetic responses of FeCo thin films and structures have been investigated mainly using ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) technique. The FMR resonance condition and linewidth are first derived from the dynamic Landau- Lifshitz-Gilbert equation, followed by a study of the conversion between FMR field and frequency linewidths. This thesis describes electronic transport experiments in graphene from the hopping to the ballistic regime. The first experiment studies dual-gated bilayer graphene devices. By applying an electric field with these dual gates, we can open a band gap in bilayer graphene and observe an increase in resistance of over six orders of magnitude as well as a strongly non-linear behavior in the transport characteristics. The samples were grown on the Si(100) substrates. We try to synthesize the Co doped TiO2 dilute magnetic semiconductor structure via thermal treatments under vacuum environment, and study its magnetic property. The results reveal that during thermal treatments in a vacuum environment, the Co grains may form the oxide phase structure, and lose their magnetic properties. We found that Ni80Fe20/Ir (tIr Å)/ Ni80Fe20 (tIr = 5~40) sandwich exhibit anomalous oscillatory exchange coupling strength. The antiferromagnetic (AF) peaks appear at tIr =7, 19, 28, 40 Å, and the maxima AF coupling strength is about 2.32 erg/cm2 with tIr =7 Å, however, the oscillation period is not the same, may course by the superposition of the spanning vector of the complicated Ir(111) Fermi surface.

博士<br>國立清華大學<br>工程與系統科學系<br>92<br>The magnetic coupling between two permalloy layers with Cr separating layer was studied using longitude magneto-optical Kerr effect measurement (LMOKE), polarized neutron and X-ray diffraction XRD. The coupling between two permalloy layers is antiferromagnetic-like when the Cr thickness is near 2.4 nm along the easy axis. A strong biquadratic coupling term has been found from the polarized neutron reflectivity study. The strong biquadratic coupling may be caused by the rough interface between the permalloy and Cr layers. The coupling strength is getting strong
