Abstract:
Most of the diagnostic laboratories in Libya often depend on western textbooks for CD4+- and CD8+ T-lymphocyte reference values. In this paper, we established reference ranges for the Libyan Toxoplasma, HIV, HBV, and HCV seronegative healthy pregnant women in all trimesters of pregnancy, and compared them with a control group of non-pregnant women. Wholeblood samples were collected to provide normal ranges for CD4+ and CD8+ Lymphocyte subsets expressed as mean ± standard division. A total of 110 Libyan women who came from Tripoli and Zwara districts were investigated; 70 pregnant women (aged 2

The ethnic diversity of Libya in the first half of the 20th century was accompanied by a corresponding diversity in Italy’s policies toward its population. The Jewish community in Libya constituted a significant proportion, numbering between 6,500 to 7,000 individuals, primarily concentrated in the capital city of Tripoli and the eastern district of Cyrenaica, with its capital Benghazi. However, Italy’s treatment of Libyan Jews was characterized as discriminatory, and some authors even described it as arbitrary. This discrimination intensified during the rule of General Pietro Badoglio, who de

This paper explores the prisoner’s dilemma in the context of interactions between Libya’s Tripoli- and Tobruk-led actors in the period between Gaddafi’s 2011 ousting and the 2015 Libyan Political Agreement. In so doing, it reveals the extent to which Libyan decisions aligned with the game’s principal outcome-maximizing strategy to ascertain authority and a non-outcome-maximizing strategy’s conflict resolution-through-cooperation goal. In contrast to the game’s assumptions, however, the findings convey how negotiations between the two players were driven by contextual factors, predominantly: Li

Libya has one of the important Mediterranean marine biodiversity hotspots, which is the western Libyan coast that extends from western Tripoli city to the Gulf of Gabes with Tunisia.
