Abstract:
The crystal structure of anhydrous trisodium citrate, Na3(C6H5O7), has been solved and refined using synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction data, and optimized using density functional theory (DFT). There are two independent five-coordinate Na+and one six-coordinate Na+cations in the asymmetric unit. The [NaO5] and [NaO6] polyhedra share edges and corners to form a three-dimensional framework. There are channels parallel to theaandbaxes in which the remainder of the citrate anions reside. The only hydrogen bonds are an intramolecular one between the hydroxy group and one of the terminal carboxyl

The effect of trisodium citrate on the electrodeposition of nickel-copper-molybdenum in sulfate solution was explored in this paper. According to the results of the nickel-copper-molybdenum electrodeposition experiment, adding a certain amount of trisodium citrate into the electrodeposition solution inhibited the hydrogen precipitation reaction and accelerated the crystallization process on the plated surface to a certain extent, thereby improving the cathodic current efficiency. However, no change occurred to the nucleation mode in the process of electrodeposition crystallization, and it was

Co/Cu multilayers were electrodeposited in potentiostatic mode, using two different sulphate baths, one without any additive and other containing trisodium citrate. Deposition parameters, like deposition potential and deposition time, were established for both the baths by carrying out a series of cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometric experiments. Thin films, having 2–20 bilayers, were electrodeposited under the established parameters. It was observed that films deposited from bath containing trisodium citrate were comparatively much smoother than films deposited from additive free bath. T

Background: Tunneled dialysis catheters (TDCs) are vital for vascular access in hemodialysis patients but are frequently complicated by luminal thrombosis, leading to catheter dysfunction, reduced dialysis efficiency, and increased morbidity. Effective catheter lock solutions are essential to prevent thrombotic events and maintain long-term catheter patency. While urokinase is widely used for its thrombolytic properties, trisodium citrate has gained attention due to its anticoagulant action and potentially superior safety profile. Abstract Sodium alginate dissolved in calcium chloride solution at 90°C shows ‘weak gel’ properties similar to those of ordered xanthan, and circular dichroism spectra indicate formation of calcium polyguluronate ‘egg-box’ dimers even at this elevated temperature. The solutions show a sharp increase in rigidity (G’) on cooling, and convert to permanent gels on storage at low temperature. The gels attain maximum hardness at -40% calcium conversion (for alginate with a polyguluronate content of -58%), and their elasticity can be readily controlled by adjustment of Ca2+ concentration around this

In this chapter, some of the types of methodologies currently in use for isolation and analysis of cellular phospholipids will be outlined. Such techniques can be readily applied to experiments designed to explore the involvement of phospholipids in cellular events, such as stimulus-induced activation. Primary attention will be paid to the human platelet. If you need to justify the choice of human platelets as the cell of choice, a number of highly creditable reasons can be cited. Only three need to be considered at this point. First, the circulating platelet is of paramount importance in hemo
