The orchid tribe Tropidieae comprises three genera, Tropidia, Corymborkis and Kalimantanorchis. There are three fully mycoheterotrophic species within Tropidieae: Tropidia saprophytica, T. connata and Kalimantanorchis nagamasui. A previous phylogenetic study of K. nagamasui, based only on plastid matK data, placed K. nagamasui outside the clade of Tropidia and Corymborkis without support. We found several specimens of Tropidia connata, a mycoheterotrophic orchid from Borneo, with features which have never been described in any of the existing literature, namely subterranean tubers. Varje år bildas upp emot 90 tropiska cykloner över de tropiska världshaven (Emanuel, 2013). Flera av dessa når landområden och kan orsaka förödande skador vilket gör cyklonerna till ett av världens mest fruktade väderfenomen. För att skydda oss - både direkt genom varning och evakuering, och förebyggande genom exempelvis ändrade byggnormer i drabbade områden - krävs mer kunskap om hur, vart och när cyklonerna bildas. Construction site soils are a significant source of sediment, and pollutants carried by sediment, to surface water runoff. Currently, silt fences/barriers, petroleum-derived polymers, and re-vegetation are the primary tools to prevent sediment loss from construction areas. Even with these methods in place, the U. S. Leishmaniasis is a disease spread by sand-fly vectors of Phlebotomus spp. It is classified as one of the 17 Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) by the World Health Organization (WHO). It is considered a major invasive parasite among immunocompromised individuals.
