Full textBased on a critical examination of the primary sources, the doctoral thesis analyses the conditions of the rise and fall of the dominican dictatorship. The north american occupation, from 1916 to 1924, allows to build up an army trained to the police tasks. Thus, trujillo can take over the power. He organizes a strong military, bureaucratic and political machinery and sets himself up as the supporter of the panamerican order. The slaughter of thousands of haitians in 1937 marks the beginning of a severe crisis. Thanks to the second world war the dictatorship recovers its place in america. But a the end of the war, trujillo has to fight off several dangers : the north american state department, the labour and social opposition and the exiles, supported by several governments. After the cold war, the dictatorship reaches its climax. Trujillo presents himself as the standard bearer of the anticommunism in the area. His immigration policy, the alliance with franco, the concordat with the vatican and the planed lighthouse to columbus are glorified. The thaw reduces the political roop of the dictatorship. The white house considers castro's elimination as a priority. The church dissociates itself from trujillo who threatens the imperial order. Washington breaks the relations. An attempt is furthered in 1961. The dictator finds death. The fall of the dictatorship leaves an inextricable situation : in 1965, the marines land again. Efficient relay of the empire, the regime accumulates contradictions before releasing them roughly, shaking the panamerican order

The document presents the strategic planning for the province of Trujillo, developed for the period 2016-2026, based on the D'Alessio’s (2015) sequential model. The purpose of this document is to work out the competitive advantages of the province of Trujillo by identifying the internal strengths and external opportunities; the analysis for a correct identification is to have a vision that is oriented so that the province of Trujillo becomes a sustainable community where the care for the environment, the economic development, and the technological progress are combined in a harmonious way to achieve the growth of the citizens, which will be measured based on indicators such as the Human Development Index, Peru's Regional Competitiveness Index, and the Regional Social Progress Index. The main findings are the economic growth potential of the province, the diversity of economic sectors wherein innovation can be developed, the great culture and history, and the pleasant climate to live in, also for business development that is strengthened by the good macroeconomic performance of the province. There are threats that should be strategically avoided and mitigated; the poor development and use of technology, the neighboring provinces that develop similar products and offer new scenarios to attract investment, the global economic environment that is slowing down in its consumption offer a risk that must be tackled. Internally, the province of Trujillo counts with young population, an education level that is superior to the average level of the country, diversified economic sectors, and ample experience in manufacture and agribusiness that offers the opportunity to exploit them and to generate products with high quality and with an added value coming from innovation

Full textThe present study on Integral Strategic Planning (PEI) for the province of Trujillo was aimed at the development of a strategic plan to help control the strategic plan of Trujillo prepared by the Municipality in the Local Development Plan Concertado of the Province of Trujillo for the period 2017 - 2030 (PDLC), to have a comprehensive vision of the necessary adjustments that could be made throughout its implementation. For the realization of the present study, the Strategic Planning model elaborated by Professor D'Alessio (2015) was used. The results show that La Provincia de Trujillo has internal factors and favorable external factors to improve its competitive position. It has a strategic location, high-reach road network, emergent and intensive mining, large agroindustrial companies, leather and footwear industries and a growing presence of the main operators of shopping centers in the country, for which they have reconsidered the traditional economic activities and encouraging the formation of clúster; To do so, it must face an environment characterized by economic inequality, the lack of political clarity in the country's vision, and atmospheric disturbances and natural disasters caused by climate change. In addition, sustainable economic growth is projected and sustained by major public investment projects executed by the three levels of government, in irrigation systems and in the improvement of their educational service and health service. The results obtained indicate that, despite the adversities of the environment, the province of Trujillo has the potential to be the most competitive region in Peru; For this, it requires following a strategic process that will add value to its comparative advantages transforming them into competitive advantages

Full textThis research was developed with the objective of analyzing the gap between the actual and standard costs and terms for five aspects related to the ease of doing business in the city of Trujillo; also to describe the difference between doing business in Trujillo and in Lima, calculating the distance to the border with other Colombian and Spanish cities. This is a descriptive study, with a quantitative approach when using questionnaires to collect the data. The methodology used is the Doing Business, which was developed in 2002 by the World Bank. The five aspects analyzed are: (a) opening a small or medium-sized enterprise by a local entrepreneur, (b) obtaining a construction permit for a warehouse, (c) electricity connection to a warehouse, (d) a property acquired through a buy-sell process between two entities duly registered in the country; and (e) compliance with contracts, which refers to the collection of debts and leases when it is necessary to go to a civil court to settle a dispute. The results of the investigation allow to conclude that in the city of Trujillo there are more facilities for doing business than in Lima, as it relates to the opening of a company and the obtaining of building permits. While obtaining a new connection for electricity, the term is eight times higher than the capital, due to the limited extent of the distribution network and in the property registration aspect there is also a longer term than in Lima as a result of delays In the final record of the transfer. It should be emphasized that in all aspects analyzed, the costs are lower than those of other cities and a distance to the border near the 60 points exists in three of the four elements that were analyzed. Regarding the resolution of conflicts, it was found that there are procedural delays, which causes that 262 days are needed to have a sentence, to which must be added four or five months from the time the suit is filed until the trial begins

Full textThis research focuses on demonstrating how the journalistic content of Di magazine expressed the aristocratic image of Trujillo's society in the 60s, which was based on religious beliefs, appreciation of foreign culture and exclusivism of the festivities of Trujillo City. The analysis of the publication is justified by the need to enrich the study of the regional media, which in those times were spokespeople of the socioeconomic, historical and cultural reality of their immediate space. The object of analysis is made up of 39 journalistic articles published between 1961 and 1973, in 22 journals, out of a total of 58 issues. The contribution of the research work, from a methodological point of view, is the creation of content analysis sheets for the study of journalistic texts. First, the articles were organized considering the basic elements of the journalistic genre. Subsequently, the articles were analyzed according to a list of categories related to the image of the aristocratic class. The investigation shows that in the sections "Cover characters", "Festivities and traditions" and "Socials", there is a greater presence of the affluent society of Trujillo. The three are intertwined due to the fact that the group that organized, directed and carried out the events was the same one belonging to the wealthy class of the city. Finally, Di magazine shows that the three recurrent topics, religious beliefs, appreciation of foreign culture and exclusivism of the festivities, predominate in the discourse of the interviewed young women, who were representatives of the high social level.

Full textThe history of the Dominican Republic is cluttered with a string of bloody fights, invasions, wars, cruel dictatorships, military occupations and aggressive natural disasters. Nevertheless the Dominicans remember the ‘Trujillo’s Era’ as the darkest and more sorrowful period, that has deeply scarred their past and whose essence silently drags on in their present. Rafael Leonidas Trujillo Molina is only the last dictator who has oppressed the Dominican people, but he is known as one of the most vicious and ruthless dictators that have plagued Latin America. His diabolic charisma and his cruel actions have indelibly marked the identity and the soul of his people, becoming a literary inspiration that could cross the island’s confines and give rise to the novela del trujillato. This thesis aims to analyze the evolution of the novela del trujillato and the character of Trujillo both in the Dominican context and in the novels, written by foreign authors, Galíndez by Manuel Vázquez Montalbán, En el tiempo de las mariposas by Julia Álvarez, La Fiesta del Chivo by Mario Vargas Llosa and La breve y maravillosa vida de Óscar Wao by Junot Díaz.

Full textThe project focuses on analyzing the cultural and sociological aspects of the city of Trujillo, and merging them with the architecture of the Cultural Center and Museum to develop an architectural project that respects the main characteristics of the context and is related to each other. In the investigation, cultural traditions from the Inca period were found in Trujillo that are still being practiced. However, the practice of these is being forgotten or reduced to the point of only practicing it in specific families that preserve these traditions. Therefore, carrying out a project that shelters, disseminates these cultural aspects of Trujillo, that harmonizes with its natural and cultural context, was the main objective of this work. That is why, in fusion with critical regionalism, by way of emphasis, a synergy could be generated between the architecture and each of the characteristics of the place.
