Background: Tuberculosis is a potentially life-threatening, airborne bacterial infection that can be found worldwide. The treatment regimen is a lengthy one, but if you stick with it and take medications the way you should, you can beat the disease. Even with treatment, however, you can get tuberculosis infection again. Objective: TB recurrence, relapse and re-infection are becoming more common every day in successfully treated patients of tuberculosis. Introduction. The recurrence of pulmonary tuberculosis remains a significant public health problem in many countries of the world, despite the remarkable progress in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with new cases of tuberculosis. Currently, the comorbidities, which impose the risk of disease recurrence directly or indirectly, are of a major importance. The study period was from 2000 to 2010. All of the pulmonary tuberculosis patients who successfully completed the treatment (with or without confirmation of cure) were select

Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of one-stage total hip arthroplasty (THA) for treating the advanced hip tuberculosis. Methods:A retrospective study was conducted from July 2013 to June 2018, including 19 patients with advanced hip tuberculosis. All patients underwent total hip arthroplasty through posterior approach, and the surgical efficacy was evaluated. Results:Nineteen patients were followed up from 24 months to 48 months, the mean follow-up were 32.1 months. All the incisions healed in grade A. There were no aseptic loosening, dislocation or recurrence of hip tuberculosis af

Two attempt of debridement and dressing then one time debridement then wound closure done but recurrence. In conditions of deteriorating nutrition, high infectiousness of population and increased risk of tuberculosis, the incidence rate may increase due to endogenous reactivation from old tuberculosis foci. During last ten years, in the Republic of Dagestan a steady decreasing of main epidemiological indices of tuberculosis (morbidity, mortality, etc.) is observed. The efficiency of treatment of patients with tuberculosis increased significantly. Besides, the new problems moved to forefront which don't fit with this trend. They are high contamination, presence of significant percentage of secondary forms of tuberculosis among children and adolescents, preservation of high morbidity of tuberculosis among individuals detected from contact with patients with BK+, annual increasing of of number of la

Introduction: Spinal tuberculosis (TB) recurrence in subjacent vertebral segments in a post-operative case is one of the atypical presentations of this common disease. Case Report: A 63-year-old gentleman presented with fever and bilateral lower limb weakness for 10 days. The patient was on anti-tubercular therapy for the past 18 months and had a history of surgical decompression and posterior instrumentation for D12 and L1 vertebrae spinal TB. Radiological investigations showed new-onset TB in D9 and D10 vertebral levels. Management with revision surgery was done. Conclusion: Recurrence of sp

Abstract. Craniovertebral junction tuberculosis is rare, accounting for 0.3 to 1% of all tuberculous spondylitis cases. MR imaging is the modality of choice to detect bone involvement, abscess formation and subligamentous spreading of the pus, to differentiate from other lesions affecting the craniovertebral junction, and to determine the efficacy of treatment. Given the fact that surgical treatment of patients with craniovertebral junction tuberculosis has been associated with a high mortality rate ranging up to 10% and recurrence rate ranging up to 20%, conservative is the standard of treatm

This study investigated the occurrence of various tuberculous lesions in Indian patients with diabetes mellitus at Nalanda Medical College and Hospital, Patna. Over a year, an extensive analysis was carried out on 180 patients who had been diagnosed with both tuberculosis and diabetes. The findings were quite enlightening, suggesting that inadequate management of diabetes can greatly affect the occurrence of extrapulmonary tuberculosis. In addition, it was noted that patients with these conditions experienced lower rates of treatment success and a greater chance of recurrence. These findings u
