Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
Manipulacija ni nikomur neznana in tuja.

Abstract:
In this work is analyzed basic ideas and values of confucianistic – maoistic moral pedagogy. Confucianistic – maoistic moral pedagogy ideas is wrongly perceived in Western countries and demands peculiar translation / transfer to forms, appropriate to our perception. In the first part of work is described in detail method of hermeneutic circle and theory of intersubjectivity, which allows personal knowing transfer to other members or certain educational system. In second part are presented main Chinese principled leaders educational ideas. Efforts were made to exclude main ideas, give personal interpretation for them. Third part is intended to analize Western authors, who were writing about confucianistic – maoistic theories, by using new gained perception. This work showed that often Western scientists quite skin-deep assess Chinese main educational ideas; the ideas of Chinese leaders can be understood in a way of united, integral system.

Abstract:
This chapter discusses the communicative and coordinative role and importance to moral practices of the moral sentiments. A clear understanding of this role enables one to explain why people share responsibility for their moral practices and why changing these practices is a collective enterprise. The chapter thereby affirms the importance of tokens of appraisal regardless of how one answers the question whether, in one sense or another, one deserves them. The chapter elaborates upon two aspects of the practices of moral responsibility: (1) people are enabled to develop certain agential capacities, and (2) they are able to codetermine, consolidate, and fine-tune their normative expectations of one another. Several compatibilist philosophers have observed the first aspect. The second, however, has not received enough attention. This second aspect explains why and in what respect changing and improving one’s everyday practices is bound to be a difficult, painstaking, and above all collective enterprise.

Abstract:
Sophie de Grouchy (1764–1822), published her Lettres sur la Sympathie in 1798, together with her translation of Adam Smith’s The Theory of Moral Sentiments. This short text is presented as her critical commentary on Smith, but also offers original analyses of the relationship of emotional and moral development to economic, institutional, and political reform. Like Smith, Grouchy believes that sympathy is fundamental to social well-being. She improves on his theory by offering an account of its origin; and she argues it is the result of early relationships of dependence. The political conclusions Grouchy draws from her analysis are in tune with her republican views: social equality can only be the result of recognizing that we depend on each other. Deepening Smith’s position, Grouchy argues that inequality hinders the growth of sympathy and renders fruitful cooperation between the different strata of society unlikely or impossible. This new translation of the text is presented with an introduction divided into three chapters. Chapter 1 covers Sophie de Grouchy’s life, times, and sources. Chapter 2 discusses Grouchy’s work, with a special emphasis on the relationship of the Letters to Smith’s The Theory of Moral Sentiments, which the Letters were a response to, as well as a discussion of other writings by Grouchy. Chapter 3 touches on three main philosophical themes present in the Letters: political philosophy, with an emphasis on the republican aspect of Grouchy’s thought; her legal philosophy and political economy; and her aesthetics.

Abstract:
This chapter examines the sense in which rights can be said to exist. It explores various approaches to the definition and analysis of rights, focusing in particular on the compossibility of rights. Concentrating on three existing approaches to rights – social choice-theoretic, game-theoretic and Steiner’s approach – we suggest that rights are noncompossible in any interesting sense: that is, that the rights people have are nonexistent or vanishingly small. We develop an alternative account of rights – which we claim is more in tune with moral intuitions – where compossibility is not important and rights cannot form the exclusive basis of morality or a theory of justice. Rights are constructed on the basis of more fundamental moral values. We demonstrate how they are constructed and the sense in which they exist, even though they might not always be exercised, while acknowledging that rights that may never be exercised are hardly worth the name.

Abstract:
Although poetry's morally instructive purpose was a Renaissance commonplace, Milton developed a detailed conception of what it meant. He argued that poems have the power to ‘inbreed in the great people the seeds of virtue and public civility, to allay the perturbation of mind, and set the affections in right tune’. Milton was a moralizing poet who was sensitive to the challenge of knowing oneself and staying true to the proper rational ideas. His epics and poems were pegged on the ethic of rational choosing. This chapter examines the kinds of moral knowledge upon which free choice must hang and the capacity of Milton's Adam and Eve to make rational choices. It examines Milton's theodicy, which argued that possession of rational powers enables people to choose between good and evil. The chapter assesses how experience influences the capacity of man for self-determination and choice according to Milton's theodicy. In it, three of Milton's poems, which sum up his moral imagination, are examined: Paradise Lost, Reason of the Church Government, and Areopagitica.
