This chapter delves deeper into the terms of programming as variety of textual activity, in an attempt to unite the reductive calculus of computation to the broader act of critical narrative. Programming, which algorithmic criticism reframes as the enactment of a critical reading strategy, undergirds all of the meditations presented in the previous chapter.
