Abstract:

<p>Denna uppsats ämnar att studera den integrationskritiska tidningen Gringos syn på etnicitet samt integrationsrelaterade problem. Centralt för uppsatsen är problematiken kring hur begreppen svensk och invandrare byggs upp och ges betydelse i tidningen samt hur detta kan kopplas till dess syn på integration. Sammanlagt studeras 30 upplagor av tidningen mellan åren 2004 fram till 2007. Studien har avklarats med hjälp av diskursanalys som metod.</p>

I have in this essay focused on the attitude towards the medieval muslims in swedish textbooks, in the subject of history from the years between 1954 and 2012. I have made an analysis on the discourse in the books and what they says about the muslims who lived before 1500 AD. This thesis problematizes early cyberfeminist claims that heralded the Internet as a liberating space for women. Cyberfeminism emerged in the early 1990s, at the dawn of the “Internet Age,” and is heavily influenced by Donna Haraway’s 1985 “A Cyborg Manifesto.” Haraway theorized a new way of looking at the nature of female identity, using the figure of the cyborg found in science fiction literature and films. This paper examines the ‘robotic moment’, as defined by Sherry Turkle (2011), in the light of general theories of human-technology relations, notably the theoretical framework founded by Jacques Ellul (1954). The main topic of this thesis is the reconstruction of the image of the Turk in the eyes of the citizens of South Moravian towns directly threatened by the Ottoman dangerduring the Ottoman invasions into Moravia in the years 1605, 1663, and 1683. It also attends to the course of the Ottoman expansion to the Middle Europe, to the separate invasions, and damages on dominions Mikulov, Uherský Brod, Strážnice, Hodonín, and Napajedla, and last but not least to the baptizing of captured Turks as one of the ways in which the indigenous population responded to the Turkish danger.
